They do not have enough spare DDs. They did not take in enough replacements for the de-registered VO3Xs, but keeps taking Citaros even though there are no de-registering SDs.
15 spare DDs is more than enough for BBDEP.. for the past few years, AMDEP have been operating with 2-5 spare DDs...
how you know BBDEP is short of DDs? are you working in SBST?
then i also can rant that there isnt any Spare BSEP DDs at all in AMDEP...

Amazing is it?From Svc 43 to BBDEP..
I've got the feeling someone's obsessed with Wrights...
On Wiki, BBDEP's CDGE spare fleet is getting smaller. It seems that some of them are now in SLBP.
Any sign of replacements for the CDGEs transferred to SLBP?

No, that was just my assumption. Now it is enough because 96/285 is no longer in BBDEP.
There is a chance lifespan for B10TL / B9TL (CDGE) / Dennis Trident 3 will be extended because of the defect to B9TL (Wright) also (7500-7686, 7700-7729, 3xxx series).
Before LTA acquire these B9TL (Wrights) please ensure that they are being fit and repaired for service.

Is SMRT getting B9TLs?
Wait and see..
I hope that Wrights can be registered in SG5500D - SG5545A series for SMRT.
If SBST has exhausted 5499 and needs more, can continue after 5555.

more and more chapalang fleet for everyone, which will only increase costs in the long run ???

That's a possibility when all bus services in Singapore get "Transperth-ed". In Perth, the entire fleet is in theory interchangeable at PTA WA's will.
If bus lobbyists are running the show, then I don't think keeping costs low will be high on their priority list.
