But it needs more DDs on weekends.

what kind of crap are you talking, the demand is much much lower on weekends. Even the Yishun to Selbawang sector is unable to reach as high demand as weekdays and can be cleared by an SD bus.

SDs also very hard to get full la dey...Running time and winding through Seletar that make commuters skip this svc.

I agree though.. It'll be best if 117 has a full fleet of SD.. At most just deploy 2 DD on the 2 S shifts..

Weekdays should be 10 SDs and 3 DDs while Weekends should be full SDs...
LTA should given 117 to GA instead of 136,Lol.
In fact this route should have been introduced later. I was hoping for a route to Changi Village via PSR

Hi mr SMb1368T, there is Sbs 109 for this sector of the route. Cheers. Thanks.

Hi mr TIB585L, I also take a few times. Before amendment, it was 55, 53, 56 min. After amendment, don't know because never take. Cheers. Thanks.

I think he meant PSR that both Svc 89 and 109 doesn't serve.

117 should have been introduced full fleet SD and gradually as loading improves they could have done SD->DD upgrade.
I still believe 117 route is good and there is potential in future, just not yet.
Actually what I am looking for is a route to Tampines Extension/North int. 969 & 39 definitely need a supplementary service which otherwise would have been the fastest way to TP via PSR Dr 12,3 & 8

I also dont give a hoot what are they trying to do..Nothing much can be done with LTA in charge.

I see not much potential on this route, at least for the next 3-4 years.
New HDBs[By 2017] are built slightly further from the route. If a new svc, A, were to run within the HDB, making a transfer will be troublesome. Imagine crossing over to take 117 to Punggol, and crossing over to take svcA into Canberra way.
Only those leaving near the route might consider.[By 2019] But you have a MRT station and what Punggol Waterway point offers?
If the new svc were to terminate at Yishun, it makes transferring easier(via 965). Unless they are going to Punggol, 85/965/969 may have better attractions than 117. Similarly to those working at Seletar. Transferring to 103 and 117(if 103 have high demands @ Yishun) might be a better option(in terms of convenience).
At most a few DDs as split...that's all I would say.

Updated the text a little..
I don't mind 117 entering Canberra estate. But I doubt it might happen. Svc169 probably no.
The 21 B9TL buses transferred to SMRT have recently commenced revenue service on bus routes like 180 and 983.
The buses are in lush green livery, with red colour SMRT logo.
