SMRT already have plenty of spare DDs...
SG5593/5594 for weeks store in the lots where they park the 5 new SBST Citaros(SG1198-1202)..Never put on svc..Maybe storage for Seletar?
Thank god LTA didnt place any new orders..
So after these last few batches there will be no more B9.. Then it will be time for the 122 A95 and 15 ADL to SHINE
Any orders after this would be the B8L since Volvo has discontinued the B9.. By then LTA MUST come up with a new design and config, gone will be the lousy SMC doors and outdated fitting..

These buses have to be registered before the end of 2017...after 1st January 2018 only Euro VI buses will be registered, so therefore no more Euro V B9 orders. However, heard from some sources that B8TL has been rebranded as B8L...

There was no B8TL to begin with.. Coz the B8 chassis is standard tri-axle 12m so there's no T prefix (I think it means Tri-axle? But again B5TL has it), my guess la. What I do know is that the B8L was named as it is from the start

I think the T means transverse engine, a carry-over from the Leyland TL11 era.
What does the T in the TL stands for ( eg Volvo B10TL )
T - TRANSVERSE
L - LONGITUDINAL
According to Wikipedia , Some 1st batch of Volvo B9tl ( build during 2002 ) has INDEPENDENT front suspension. But move to a Fixed front suspension afterwards .
To me how does it compare ? Like how .

I hope LTA choose the 350hp/1400nm one..We need higher torque not horsepower in SG

It is an indication that all their bendies except for A24s will retire by end of this year given they are getting so many B9TLs and A95s.

More importantly. Why B9s? Of all DDs that could be used why use the worst? That's an ABSOLUTE downgrade man, nothing good out of it really.
How many bloody B9 trash did LTA buy sia. Can't they just let it go and buy the A95 instead..

You sure? The A95 is 10500cc twin stage turbo 320hp and got massive 1600nm of torque while the Cummins is 8890cc turbo and only 1500nm despite 340hp.

Let SMRT take in the MAN A95s while the SMRT B9TLs can go to Tower Transit.

No. Let EVERYONE take in the A95. The B9s can go to hell.

Thats not the point. I'm asking why use the B9s as HC buses.
