Sv. 506 has passengers? Since when? To extend Sv. 8 it might have to go through CTE as honestly, having so many services in TPY isn't going to help much. Sv. 55 does not go to Bedok Reservoir, only Eunos. If one wants to go further down Bedok Reservoir Rd he has to cross and take Sv. 21 or Sv. 15!Originally posted by th1988:Service 8 has brunched up buses with 2-3 mins frequency during AM off peak with even empty DD buses. Curretnly, to Toa Payoh from Bedok Reservior Road has service 506, that's where most of 506 passengers to Toa Payoh comes from, so extending 8 to Bishan may use this route: Macpherson Road, Upp Aljunied Road, Upp Serangoon Road (To serve Joo Seng Residents to Potong Pasir MRT Stn (Nearest MRT Stn), Jln Toa Payoh, Lor 6, Lor 4 Toa Payoh, Braddell Road, Bishan.
Also 8 need not be extended, as 8 duplicates with many services. Also Bedok Reservior Areas have service 55 to Bishan, why didn't your thought of that?
Yesterday I took service 90, I was standing on the steps from Macperson Road all the way to Toa Payoh, the bus was overloaded! Even the bus was NAC, rego no 3613.Yes, after the 2-axle LOs were withdrawn Sv. 90, especially, has problems coping with the enormous passenger load in the am and pm peak.
You may want to know that SV 90 has very high demand from RSAF PLAB during afternoon peak espically after 1800 (Bus stop opposite POSBank)
Hi Kitoshizc,Originally posted by kitoshizc:Hi.I'm new here and is quite interested abt buses too..
SBS558J on Service 159 at noon time on 5 nov.
Cheers.
I urge you to take this letter with a pinch of salt. 99% of the time they would not do anything since AMDEP/BRAM do not have any non-a/c double-decks available, so how to deploy higher-capacity buses since they said they are not interested in A/C buses for Sv. 90 on weekdays.Originally posted by th1988:I just got an reply from SBS, it reads
Dear Andrew,
Thank you for your feedback on service 90.
Sorry for the inconvience caused to you while taking our services.
Currently, service 90's capacity is currently sufficent with some overloaded trips. We seek your understanding as the buses might be delayed as there is an heavy jam along Macpherson Road.
However, we would not hesitate to use bigger capacity buses for service 90 if the service cannot continue to cope with the demands.
We are sorry to tell you that there are no plans to have AC buses on service 90 on weekdays but we would note it for future reviews on our bus services as we know that service 90 have a very high demand.
Once again, thank you for taking time to share your feedback with us.
Finally SBS noted about the overloading trips on service 90!

Yes, HGDEP has no 3-axle Leyland Olympians. Perhaps you saw SBS 9200A - SBS 9400X batch of Volvo Olympians, after all, they do look similar.Originally posted by Superbus:I don't think Service 119 operates any Leyland Olympian 3-axle.
Cheers and warm regards
Routine service checks ah? Once every 10 years?Originally posted by th1988:Well 90 may get VO 3 axle during peak hours. The service is in a dire need for DD.
SBS does routine service checks on a regular basis, service 90 may be AC buses as and when AC buses arrive.
But, their promises still may be a broken promise.
Sv. 174 has operated DM3500-bodied Mk IVs before what.Originally posted by Zilchster:Spotted SBS 2649S on Svc 174 today...it even has a proper side desto plate....
