Just check it out, all buses with the DHL all-over ad have the contravision ad too, I believe there are four or five of them on the roads now. Happy photographing!Originally posted by SBS9818A:Rear. Above the engine. I do admit the engine is hot but the air-con keeps the bus cool and comfortable. Today SBS 9353Z on Express 501 has a DHL all-over ad, but with contravision sticker on upper deck windscreen and SBS Transit text on lower deck windscreen in red, not transparent like SBS 9630Z.
This could mean SBS 9630Z was used as a demo bus for this kind of ad.
But the bus has desto JI 712 displayed.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Of all things, a PA-registered O405 along Sims Avenue? Perhaps it was heading for a charter somewhere in the East.
I understand that you took TIB1011 btw noon and 4p.m. The weather was quite cool, BTW, and I think it reached Yishun Int. at abt. 1630-1700, as I saw the bus again at TCHS at 1745. In fact, it was overcast or raining at Bt. Timah, so the climate is quite cool. Try taking it in the heat at 3-4p.m on a hot sunny day above the engine on TIB1014 / TIB1015 for 1hour,not half an hour, and give me your comments. Even non-bus geeks are complaining about the heat in the last row.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Rear. Above the engine. I took TIB 1011U from Bishan, it was sunny, and the aircon was good and cool.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:I understand that you took TIB1011 btw noon and 4p.m. The weather was quite cool, BTW, and I think it reached Yishun Int. at abt. 1630-1700, as I saw the bus again at TCHS at 1745. P.S. Haven't take TIB1014 for some time as I have the fortune of enjoying TIB719, but I heard the engine mounting also rattles a bit now.![]()
OK, I take it that you took it from MArymount Rd., right? FYI, I had also taken TIB1011U in the morning to school on the same day, and I have to agree with you that the ac is working. But, before you start generalising LAnce 211s, do try to take other regos. For Starters, I strongly recommend TIB1014 on service 852 in the afternoon. Perhaps you may fing the ac cool also, but temperature is arbitary between individuals.Originally posted by SBS9818A:I took TIB 1011U from Bishan, it was sunny, and the aircon was good and cool.
Not forgetting 1015J too!!Originally posted by TIB1186Z:OK, I take it that you took it from MArymount Rd., right? Yeah you had enough fun with that LAnce and after you started supporting that TIB 1011, look what happened to 969 now? Yucks!I pity those inside......Originally posted by SBS9818A:Yay, low-floor Dennis Lance on Sv. 969, perhaps in competition to the VSOs on Sv. 168
I saw TIB 927 J, the whole bus was packed to the brim, the standing area was very crowded.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:Yeah you had enough fun with that LAnce and after you started supporting that TIB 1011, look what happened to 969 now? Yucks!I pity those inside......
low floor? dennis lance are not low floor.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Yay, low-floor Dennis Lance on Sv. 969, perhaps in competition to the VSOs on Sv. 168
No what I refer to is that damn TIB1009C that appeared before me today and it was super packed, even the industrial sized standing area........can imagine how slow it will craw on TPE with that load when it is already a tortoise w/o the paxOriginally posted by off_service:I saw TIB 927 J, the whole bus was packed to the brim, the standing area was very crowded.
Verdict: Dennis Lance 211 and 245 should not be deployed on service 969.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:No what I refer to is that damn TIB1009C that appeared before me today and it was super packed, even the industrial sized standing area........can imagine how slow it will craw on TPE with that load when it is already a tortoise w/o the pax
It should by all means. You should give them a chance to prove themselves on the highway, what if they actually have the power to overtake an O405 or a VSO? I won't be suprised.Originally posted by off_service:Verdict: Dennis Lance 211 and 245 should not be deployed on service 969.
Personally, Lance 245s can and will overtake most of the buses on the expressway due to its engine.Originally posted by SBS9818A:It should by all means. For the sake of the passenger's sanity and teahnical problems, the Lance 211 should be kept off the expressway as far as possible ( what I mean is that they should only be deployed as a last resort, when TIBS only left 17 Lance 211 in its entire fleet )[/b]
Ermm.. the 2 of you can have your own opinions... I hope this won't turn into flame war.Originally posted by SBS9818A:Passenger's sanity? Do they even personally care about whether it is too hot for them? Come on. I like to see Lance 211s on the expressway, nothing wrong with it.
Don't talk abt it -_-Originally posted by SBS9818A:Passenger safety at risk due to engine overheating? Engines are so technologically advanced today, there is little need to worry about an engine overheat, there are systems in place to prevent this from happening.
Nah, we're entitled to our own opinion, no flame war! Seems you didn't go for your NEL joyride? A pity, you could have gone to Sentosa and got on the LO.
