But it will confuse passengers who are used to seeing 170(x) to Kotaraya...

Gemilang bodywork cannot tahan collision...
My ex 163 bus......
Originally posted by SBS3688Y:actually sv 170 and 170blue plate are serving different destinations. 1 towards Larkin and the other towards Kotaraya. by right should use different no. in the beginning.
but to prevent pax from getting confused with totally new no. how abt either rename as 170B (blue) or 170K (Kotaraya/Kranji)?
If you noticed sometimes, 170 Blue Plate don't stick to its route all the time...sometimes it also terminate at Larkin and start from there as well.
Observed the buses of 170 Blue Plate yesterday under a stormy rain...passengers were picked up at outside Kranji MRT Station (not opposite), then the bus turn left to Turf Club Ave...not sure where it goes afterwards because I was on 160 at the same time.
170 fleet have already changed to scania already?

Whether 170 puts 'X' in the blue desto some of them will still go to Larkin...

Believe to be full Scania Deployment on Sv170 today. Anyone spotted DM3500?
End of the Volvo era...now Scania .__."
Spotted SBS8116Z, SBS8392S, SBS8403U on Service 170.
SBS8491P 170..
I think all the JB entry permits from DM3500s were removed if transferred to other depots. Cos no point keeping these buses when they are not used.
The main reason why the DM3500s are perm for 3 years is because all services are fully occupied with WAB, and that is why if SBS uses new bus for 170, where can it go? Same to the VO2X which is in JIS services. Older and retiring buses are primarily used for the cheaper services.
Looks like this time round 159's fleet is the most affected one. As it is a non WAB service, it seems like the Citaros from 159 had been withdrawn and went over to support other WAB services in HGDEP that are affected by the K230UBs transfer. I wonder if the Citaros from 83, 107 and 153 are affected too.
Still remember back in Nov 2001 when 170 went from NAC to FAC, many services like 151 kana downgraded from FAC to many NAC in its fleet. If I remembered correctly 91 and 191 downgraded to fully NAC too.
