Already end of Nov. Announcement should have been out. Unless it is a Xmas or NY launch date.
Judging from the map, the housing areas at {Yung Sheng Road, Yung An Road, Yung Kuang Road}(basically, those along Corporation Road) , Jurong West Street 52, 41 and 42 have weak bus connection to Lakeside MRT station. I am quite certain that the new BSEP bus route will serve these areas. The pair of bus stops at Lakeside MRT station is definitely served by the new bus route, unless a new pair of bus stop is created at Yuan Ching Road, at where there was previously a taxi stand.
Personally, I foresee changes to a few bus routes. It is quite likely that 335 will be re-routed, possibly shorterned to Chinese Garden area - serving Jurong East Street 31 and 32, unless there is still demand for bus link to Chinese Garden/Jurong East from Jurong West Street 52/41/42 even after the new BSEP bus route is launched.
Meanwhile, 334 is likely going to remain the same, otherwise being re-routed and lengthened to serve Jurong West Street 52/41/42, to compensate the link loss due to 335 being re-routed, if there is still demand for bus link to Chinese Garden/Jurong East from Jurong West Street 52/41/42 even after the new BSEP bus route is launched.
I am writing this on the assumption that the new BSEP bus route is a feeder service, providing bus connection to Lakeside MRT Station from areas that currently have weak/no bus connection to the nearest MRT Station.
Unless a new pair of bus stops is created at Lakeside MRT Station, the new BSEP bus route at Taman Jurong is very likely to be like this:
If this new BSEP route is a trunk road, it is quite likely that from Hong Kah, the route will go to the other parts of Jurong West, instead of Jurong East. If so, the route at Hong Kah will definitely go in this sequence:
Number for the svc terminating at Hu Ching Ter is 49... Dunno what LTA and SBST have been thinking...

omg
it is service 49 , as what somebody speculate that time
details out alrdy at LTA FB
i think the service is to relieve load for 98 & 334 as well as to link lakeside MRT to these areas
now, i have 49 & 334 to my home haha
usually i take 334 from jrg east to blk 551 bus -stop. with 49, i dun mind climbing up the overhead bridge outside lakeside MRT to take 49 direct back home. so 49 is my 2nd option though

Won't it be a longer commute since the bus will first go along st 42 and only then come back to St 41. Just asking.

Can't believe... You are still hung up on the bus number... Cherish that it is a good route, unlike 120.

u mean longer commute to lakeside MRT from st 42? nah, i dun mind
time is not a factor for me. it's the direct & convenience that I want though =)

Convenience is what commuters look for.Thats why 120 still exists.

Yeah, it exists only because it is BSEP. And LTA has way too much resources to waste on a service like 120 which still has not picked up in terms of loading.
But I must appreciate that the last few routes introduced sv 20, 972 and 49 have all been good routes.
The ones I don't like much are: 116, 120
The ones that could be better: 141
The ones that are really good: 4, 20, 49, 50, 860, 972
