The power isnt solely in there you know. In fact it is well-divested by all the stat boards and ministries we have. And they dont necessarily sing the same tunes!

In my opinion, I feel that SMRT should invest in Double Decker buses. This should help trigger the services to improve.
just like governments introducing stimulus packages to boost employment and spending.
by the way, which is cheaper: Double Decker or Articulated?
It seems to me that Double Decker is cheaper. so if SMRT buys DD instead of Articulated, it should help save some money. and the money saved can be used to improve its services.

just wondering. could LTA make a one-time investment, by engaging foreign bus companies/organisations, and sending people working in SMRT and SBS Transit to overseas for training? similar to back then when people working in MRTC were sent to Japan for overseas training, before MRT services started.
Personally, although better than SMRT, I feel that SBS Transit's bus services can still be improved.
- For instance, the drivers should make the effort to do some dry-cleaning of the bus after it drops off passengers at bus interchanges/terminals/depots, so that when the bus enters services again, passengers would not get a dirty bus.
It would be good if both operators can be sent for training by overseas PTOs, so that the quality of Public Transport here can be on par with cities similar to us, such as London.
Maybe it is because SBST is under Comfort Delgro (an international company), that is why its services are maintained at "international standards", unlike SMRT which does not have any foreign influence. Nonetheless, I do not think SBS Transit's services are perfect yet.
So, LTA should send both operators for overseas training/upgrading. Except, perhaps SMRT should get more training/upgrading because it does not have any international company above it to maintain its services at "international standards".

Even 13xx already got many maintenance issues not to mention abuse by some nationality BCs..Got high hump also dunno to slow down until suspension got squeak sound.SMRT prefer to service Singtel and SPF vehicles more than their own buses.They need several dedicated leaders that can knock some cow sense into their management staffs to be more proactive,discipline and focus more on its own fleets.
