And heard that DDs will be given priority to 190 and 700 once again...
That should not be a surprise. Though 169, 188, 854, 963, 985 should get priority over 700...
I really hope LTA puts DDs on 985.

Yes all of Kranji Depot jurisdiction is DD friendly. So CCK/BPJ/BBT will be the first ones to get DDs.

Royston Sim. (2014, March 21). SMRT to get more than 100 double-decker buses. Singapore Press Holdings Ltd. Retrieved from http://www.straitstimes.com/
In A move to increase capacity, SMRT will add more than 100 double-decker buses to its fleet in batches from June.
The public transport operator currently only has regular and "bendy" buses plying the roads.
Speaking during a media preview of its revamped "learning journey" yesterday, SMRT Buses vice-president Tan Kian Heong said the double-deckers will be deployed on longer routes from residential estates to the city.
Mr Tan noted that while the double-deckers will be useful for adding capacity on services into the city, they are not as suitable for heavily-used feeder routes.
actually, it is 103 units of Double Decker buses.
but here is a credible information on how SMRT intends to deploy Double Decker buses on its routes.

In a move to increase capacity, SMRT will add more than 100 double-decker buses to its fleet in batches from June, reported The Straits Times. The public transport operator currently only has regular and 'bendy' buses plying the roads.
Speaking during a media preview of its revamped 'learning journey' yesterday, SMRT Buses Vice President Tan Kian Heong said the double-deckers will be deployed on longer routes from residential estates to the city.
Mr. Tan noted that while the double-deckers will be useful for adding capacity on services into the city, they are not as suitable for heavily-used feeder routes.
He said that it would be inconvenient for commuters to climb up and down the upper deck when they may only be taking the bus for a short distance.
Mr. Tan said SMRT is also actively hiring more drivers. He added that the new double-deckers are part of several initiatives SMRT is implementing to improve the commuting experience.
The operator has also conducted a trial of a telematics system for its buses - essentially a 'black box' that will record and transmit data during a journey. Mr. Tan said these 'black boxes' will be installed on SMRT's bus fleet over time, and allow the operator to track the driving behaviour of its drivers. In the longer term, the plan is to analyse the data gathered to identify potential problem areas.
SMRT has 1,263 buses in its fleet and about 2,500 drivers. It operates bus services from Yishun, Sembawang, Woodlands, Bukit Panjang, Choa Chu Kang and Bukit Batok.
buy SMRT stocks now, while the prices are still low.
I guess the value will rise very soon.
By June, most likely the custom-made MAN A39 will be on service with the ADL E500s...
Maybe only 1 model will be out bah, since they stated 100 only, prob. the rumoured MAN lol
most likely there is still bendy buses but lesser. I think DD buses is for senior drivers if you read the smrt drivers chance of promotion in the company DD and bendy buses drivers is senior drivers for more than ten years of driving. otherwise you can see a top less smrt DD bus on the road ha ha ha. Maybe smrt use only bendy buses for feeder service only and free some SD buses for trunk services.

Yeah definitely. Maybe down to a few dozens exclusively for feeders/Intratowns
Basically is majority of those bendies on trunks now will be gone and the remaining few will be replaced with newer ones and redeployed to feeders/Intratowns to boost capacity (my guess). Current bendies perm feeders/Intratowns will be replaced with new bendies of course.
Should install the black box on MAN A22
No MAN A39s lah...
Where is that white DD bus that picture appear here and beening removed? It look like standard smrt MAN lion SD bus design only it is a DD. will it be the new model MAN DD bus for smrt? some said it is a secrect new model mercedes DD bus?
