Can get svcs like 27 to start there to warrant more efficient and, more importantly, more consistent operations.
Also, Sengkang can max accommodate 1 service more. I don't think more than that.

SMRT Buses will be taking in double-decker high capacity buses from May 2014. SMRT will be utilising the MAN Lion's City DD for BSEP purposes, but there will be Enviro500 buses for normal bus purposes.

So seems like it is true - two bus models... how many units of BSEP?

He does not joke around here, so I took his comment seriously, but need credible source.

Erm the person who edited the wiki, is he trustable?

Are you sure? I didn't hear of any such press release. If It is confirmed, it is great. Buangkok MRT is poorly used today because of poor bus connectivity. People along HG Ave 6 take 27 to HG MRT. Even from Buangkok link, Buangkok Green, HG St 51 etc that are closer to Buangkok MRT, people take bus to HG making it over crowded.Once Buangkok Interchange comes, can have new services from there towards Seletar and Upper Serangoon Road.

Sorry. I was referring 27 to Buangkok.
Letting it start from Sengkang is absurd as it was extended from Sengkang years back for a reason.
Besides quite a number take 27 from Buangkok too.

And also, not many people take 27 beyond Buangkok itself. Go check it out.
For those affected most have alternative such as svc 89. 27 does not really have that link, but rather just a mere alternative itself.
Those very very few who don't have access to 89 can always take 325, who takes them to HC in quite the same amount of time.

but 67 will duplicate 65 and 23 route and that no good for smrt service. i think 67 passengers will reduce in time to come as DTL begin to open and ah niles going back home. the indian workers take this 67 service as it provide a indirect link from lim chu kang dormitory to little india. of crouse those guys need to change bus service from CCK interchange after taking 975.

Nope, not trustable. He has been blocked on some wikia sites, and the edit to the wiki was reverted.

I disagree. If you say there are not people who take 27 from Hougang to Changi, I 100% agree. But 27 is the only service on the upper leg of Hougang Ave 6. In AM peak, you will see at least 20-25 pax board at this stop on 27 towards HG MRT. Ofcourse if 27 is edited to Buangkok, and they introduce another service to cover the missing link of 27, that is totally fine.

67 does not duplicate 65 or 23 until it turns onto Jalan Besar.. Also, if 67 is split into 67 and 767, then 67 will be with SBST and 767 with SMRT.

The workers live that far... seems like they spend half their time traveling only!!

that why has PTE bus service from lim chu kang dormitories to little india. 67 and 767 both will lost money if the service split. there are repeated bus services along the way. and from little india to tampines i am sure most people prefer semi-express 23.

Erm you don't say?
Just look at that rapid development there now. It's kinda crowded now itself already, wait till all the BTOs and the hospital is done. Wow, another JE or Tampines!

I disagree. Yes, 23 is the choice if someone has to go from Little India to Tampines, but that's not where the loading for even today's 67 comes from.
67 gets packed because a lot of people travel to Geylang from Little India area - main loading area. Then it again gets packed from Bedok MRT towards Tampines. So, it has completely different catchment areas from 23 and 65.

I C maybe after the DTL open next year the service get cut short from tampines to little india? As the DTL is operated by SBST humm maybe that 67 by smrt can play a supporting part might not even cut short in case the DTL breakdown. :)
Originally posted by carbikebus:67 the most shortened to either Bedok or Eunos…
Cannot lah.
Fastest link from Bedok Reservoir to Tampines/Bedok. Many people take. Dunno about when DTL open but definitely Bedok side won't kena. Cannot shorten lah pls.
[OT abit]
I guess Woodlands = Tampines eh? Both TSL(upcoming;base on current map name) n DTL have xxxx North/South/East/West...
And since Woodlands really have a big plot of land, I hope they build a bigger interchange, some condos, more shopping malls(?), and as well as a big garden etc. for countdown part or any events. Plus an empty land for those night markets.
Service 67 is essential to ensure service quality as it is the only bus within the Changi Road, Tampines Area, and partially Jalan Besar Serangoon area which does not belong to SBSTransit.
Without 67, SBSTransit will be operating as monopolies within the area. As private profit-oriented company, other than meeting the requirements mandated by LTA and PTC to avoid greater fines, SBSTransit has no incentive or liability to improve level of service. Thus, it will be natural for SBSTransit to cut back on services to maxmise profit, so as to be accountable to shareholders.
This is evident in the persistent overcrowding of buses such as 190, 960 and etc along the Bukit Panjang corridor for SMRT services, despite BSEP such as 972. As there are no buses by SBSTransit serving as alternatives for commuters, SMRT operate as monopolies, and it is natural for them to cut back services.
Similarly, SBSTransit operating as monopolies within the Sengkang and Hougang region, and the Loyang / Cargo Complex area has resulted in SBSTransit operating at profit-maximisation level of service for 9, 19, 89, and to introduce 89e. Due to poor level of service in terms of long frequency and overcrowding, commuters have no confidence in buses, and this has resulted in long jams along Tampines Avenue 7, and Loyang Avenue.
