This is the OFFICIAL livery for SMRT's Double Decker buses!!!
(glad that it is not simply a stretched/expanded version of the new livery on Single Decker buses. phew.) *wipes sweat*
this looks more neat and presentable than what I guess it would be.

they are cutting down on the no of bendies.... that why they bought DDs... if bendies are being used for feeder routes (with only one service or few services), then it is ok... But then if too much bendies on feeder routes, interchange also chaos......
This is what we were looking for. An official announcements from LTA. So 200+ orders of DDs it is :)
good to see also 40 Man Bendies - number seems low, but seems like 1 to 1 replacement rather than bendy fleet add. But with this, at least can expect SMRT to feeders to become WAB in future.

What do you mean BG 169 is not allowed to have bendy buses?

The commuters like the elderly, disabled or young children does not even make their way to the upper deck for feeder and short-haul service (962 & 964) do included.

its fine that they cut down
i mean its obvious bendy take up rd space in crowded areas
but certain ppl here argue blindly
saying feeder shld also use dd etc etc etc
citing example of 222 291 etc etc (likely totally unrelated)
their stand is sbst can use dd why not smrt
fact is we're an aging population
ppl dont really want to climb up the bus staircase just for a few stops (feeder)
which is why i agree buying bendy, if for use on feeder is a good idea
certain ppl just dont see eye to things
they lack compassion..
only self-driven by their own selfish ideologies..

I'm sure if there's no more bendy bus, the situation could be worst...
Hope the MAN Bendy will not have the aircon units on the roof... place it in the bus as existing bendy would be more aesthetic looking...
Last but not least, DUN tune down the engine... taken MAN bendy overseas(EUR), SMB388S lacks power and seems to be choking as it moves...
What if... SMRT dcide to bring in E500 MMC TURBO version?!
tt would be real nice!

I would like to share with everyone how I think the new livery would look like on the MAN Lion's City DD, and roughly how it would look like on the Double Decker bus models that SMRT has in its bus fleet.
This is done using Photoshop CS3 Extended, on the drawing at http://www.4shared.com/photo/mx0D9Dlk/man_lions_city_dd.html. It is basically a "stretched" version of the new livery that is being applied to the Standard 12-metre buses that SMRT has.
Please advise me on how it could be better, and I will edit the picture and share the edited picture here for further comments. Thanks!
Bro nice pix, more squares of diff color on body pls(the current MAN livery will give you a hint)
i did mention b4, MAN DDs ARE NOT in any order...

you find the place for underfloor aircon on a low floor bus. There's a reason why all using rooftop aircon now because no underfloor space lah.

The Alexander Dennis Enviro 500 meets its predecessor, the Dennis Trident III. Would be nice if both meet on the roads too.

ehh..... actually, the pictures is I anyhow take from internet (from http://www.mynewsdesk.com/sg/smrt/pressreleases/smrt-buses-enhances-strategy-for-fleet-growth-and-renewal-double-deckers-among-confirmed-delivery-of-over-570-buses-979666 and http://www.sbstransit.com.sg/about/memorylane.aspx) de... but then, Ya la...
The Alexander Dennis Enviro 500 is SMRT's first Double Decker bus model.
The Dennis Trident 2 is (probably) the first Double Decker bus model that straightaway (without having the old SBS livery) have the new SBS Transit livery.
They are both the first Double Decker bus model to have the new livery of their respective operator.
