SMRT to get DDs soon

we aren't getting any odd length buses right now
the superlong could not make it. length and space issues. same for the Volvo B10MA.
just 12m DDs and 18m bendies for the high capacity.

Nothing is impossible..The A39 turning radius isnt the same as the 14.5m B10MA superlong cause its a city bus compared to coach use for the Volvo.But hopefully ADL also produce the 12.8m with dual staircase and 3 doors option..

B10MA is 19m ... which is SBS998Y
the 14.5m is SBS997A (this is the bus i am making reference to)

KMB/NWFB/CTB/LWB buses have seat belts for passengers sitting in front of upper deck windscreen ...
If SMRT adopts this, it will be a plus for image... -

The faster the better,those first 30 units to 190 i guess..plus a few A22s and OCs can cut down buses to 39..

bro i think the bars are not necessary in sg. In the past when NParks trees maintenance was not as good as now; the old double-deckers often hit the tree branches but still managed to withstand the impact. - buses in sg travel at relatively low speed - trees maintenance by NParks nowadays is good. and the public is quick to complain if got any low lying tree branches. - extra bars means extra costs - the front windscreen is made of laminated safety glass and able to withstand any impact by the branches - the bars looks ugly to me -

the bus looks awesome. i was thinking if the new livery is using black colour instead of silver background just like smrt taxis; would it look much better and modern? -
Hmm ok,my only concern is that SMRT BCs are relatively new to DDs. To be honest do you think 201 DDs and 40 bendies is enough for their operations?Sg PTO need at least 65% high capacity buses in their fleets to cater the rising populations.
