the feeders are mainly high loading but it is different from that of the trunks.
putting bendies, all are not WAB; the sole WAB Bendy 388S has space for one PIW. to go WAB, 60-70% must be WAB. putting the OCs, Taros or A22s will lead to the infamous 811 problem. is DD a solution?
a inital DDs would be number around 50, much would have gone on to 190. not until more high capacity WAB buses come around.
hmm wondering what is LTA thinking this round ...
SMRT needs to get more bendies for the feeders (around 80 buses, to replace all the MK1 bendies and the remaining as fleet additions), and reconfigure the seating and standing spaces. The A24 could have the seats removed at the rear to fit in another PIW slot like on the original Lion City G. Currently its capacity is worst than the O405G, by configuring it correctly, it can actually accomodate up to 154 passengers, which is much better than a dd, and is ideal for feeder loadings.
For the trunks, dds are ideal. 50 buses is not enough (if most are deployed to 190). SMRT needs around 150 dds (to partially replace the retiring O405s), so 40 of them could go to 190 and the others scattered around the trunks.

I heard it will be an order of 200 DD buses. So even if major bulk goes for CBD buses, there would still be around 80-100 buses to match with bendies/rigids to make few needy services WAB. For example, 804/806 have so many old people living around there... I would have expected these services to go WAB years back, but cannot. Putting rigids on this service is just like putting rigids on 190. With frequency of already 3-4 mins... you cant even add more rigids.. will become classic case of bunch bunch bunch.
so many BSEP Citaros posted to AMDEP... this means it must be for the new service 121... I foresee the new service to be launched in April.. fleet of 8 buses all Citaro...

Ignore the cables lah, it is the bus i m referring to...
LTA already hands full with buses with wheels, they will go mad with buses with cables!

Very good.
Now waiting for bendies.
Actually SMRT can change 1 of it's PIW space to passenger seats for their OCs...[KUB style]

bendies, yes
190 by now needs about 50-55 DDs. 2 mins between buses at Peak Hours.
800 might not need Bendies though one could see it as cameo. (BA's fleet for 800)
two PIWs in each WAB Bendy ...
i wonder what happen to the standing area at the flexible point. hopefully SMRT retains it.

... more taros ... zzz
this evening, i saw taros on 147.
wth are those taros doing on 147? you know that 147 is high loading trunk, and these taros gone on 147 at Peak Hour.

BRT need not be long! Guangzhou is a perfect example.
But here in SG BRT not practical as there are enough train lines in the city to serve the entire city centre with similar fares and running system to BRT, only that it's underground. The Downtown Line ha proven just that.

Normally the KUBs on 147 are timed to tail the DD in front to take the extra leftover pax.. but these days with erratic schedules that is not happening.. in fact u see so much 147 DD bunching... I also feel 147 DD BCs try to act funny by tailing each other and making a DD train.. observe so frequently 3 147 DDs in AM peak towards city on Bendemeer Rd (one of them is 147A)..

Not taking over duty... it is more efficient deployment, use of buses like sv36...
Eg, BC1 waiting at bus terminal, bus comes in, BC2 alights from bus, BC1 takes over the bus and drives off after his mandated rest, BC2 will take his rest and wait for next bus to come in...
However there is another type in EUR, you dun see 4-5 buses waiting at bus terminal/bus stand area(as it is more commonly none esp UK), normally, there is only 1 bus the most 2 buses, after which they will drive off...
Closest you can find of the second type is Hong Kong, you can observe at Star Ferry and terminals over HK...

If the bendies in SG are properly maintained as that in EUR, commuters will complain...
Have any bus fan come across any bendy in SG whose
1. Engine is soft but powerful
2. Good acceleration
3. Good Braking
4. Many other reasons
A reason is due to daily wear/tear but most of the time, SLs are not properly trained on how to drive properly, most of them juz floor the accelerator as the bus engine has been tuned down to conserve fuel...
Paris MAN Bendy
Roissybus : From CDG to Opera
Paris MAN Bendy
rt.43 standing at the bus stand at RUE DU HAVRE, waiting to return to Neuilly - Bagatelle
*Note the difference at the top and sides...
All buses in Paris have en-route road names on a rectangle panel on the passenger boarding side of the bus.
In the bus, there are full route displays mounted on the side with bus stops/near bus stop "attractions" indicated, some displays have icons of the attractions.
