not waste of money that is to put pressure to SBST to improve the service. And also if you get some opposition walking around the area what you do? also that area might be the up coming PM area soon. might be.
i think LTA should try out those xxxP on trunk bus service that SMRT and SBST cannot meet the demand. and maybe get those xxxP service run full time. And has one or two service that run semi-express parallel to MRT line during peak hours. and best of all reduce the fare by 20%. but distance fare rules for xxxP bus service.

It is a matter of more folks writing to LTA to ask for it, maybe they will consider...
Apparently, with much feedback sent, LTA is still saying they are considering whether to have a parallel service from Punggol to town...
MP taking matters into her own hands when LTA dun listen:
Residents in Tampines can now look forward to hearty breakfasts at the popular Tampines Round Market and Hawker Centre without having to squeeze on crowded feeder bus services. Instead, they can take a shuttle bus that will ferry them there for $1 per trip.
It will ply the route between Tampines Street 32 and 33, near Ngee Ann Secondary School; and Tampines Street 11, where both the Tampines Round Market and Hawker Centre and the Tampines Changkat Community Club are located.
The bus will stop eight times along the route, including outside the Tampines Interchange. Payment must be made with an ez-link card.
The shuttle service, run by private operator Republic Express, will
operate from 6.30am to 9.30am and 5.30pm to 8.30pm on weekdays. On
weekends, the shuttle will operate from 6.30am to 10.30am at 15-minute
intervals. It will not operate on weekend nights as there would be low
demand. The shuttle will help reduce the congestion of existing feeder
bus services in the area, especially bus service 291.

This is getting crazy... In few months, there will be no space on roads and heavy traffic congestion with so many buses being operated. Moreover private operators drive and park anyhow, with less regulations, poor training and this is largely going to affect the road conditions.

There are more bus lobbyists than bus hobbyists out there!
Why would you think LTA has to even put out a video saying that they cannot please everyone?

Actually LTA can divert sv18 inside...
Originally posted by Acx1688:Actually LTA can divert sv18 inside...
I agree. That's why I think LTA planning is ridiculous. All they want yo do is show people statistics without really making relevant changes. What's the use of a Sv 18? Divert it to areas to relieve load on other services than simply copy Sv 8 from Safra that already has good frequency and DDs.
LTA has not made one significant change to existing services whose loading pattern has changed after MRT lines. They don't see but soon there is going to be a chaos with so many buses on roads.
Originally posted by BusAnalayzer:307 does not need bendy, but 307P would be useful for this service. Need couple of BSEP adds for frequency improvement.
Agree! hopefully other than 307P, SMRT/LTA will add in BSEP full day soon...will definitely look forward to that..
maybe it time to follow hong kong to have mini bus operated on the road. Maybe that what the MP in tampines doing. With RC and shop owners support and town coucil support i see no reason why this bus service cannot operated. maybe should bring back bus from city square from toa payoh also I think the reason is because of service 141. but that is not the way LTA should prevent people from enjoying a free bus ride to near city area. Kelong between public operators companies and LTA?

Our future PM? More likely from Chai Chee/Marine Parade area. Like current PM, another SAF one-star.

Oh well, both 300 and 302 have majority bendy fleet, dist much shorter than 307, yet they have more buses than 307 (Full rigid fleet), with both services having at least 2-3 BSEP add...Run time i shall not say cos 302 and 307 are always late during peak and Saturdays..only 300 have many "extra time"
Yea, why only have 8-9 rigids, when the route is longer? It's like comparing 190 and 972.

Did I say it was Kee Chiu? Anyway, I'd rather our next PM hailed from Bedok Reservoir/Punggol.

I agree with you on that too. I don't support the mini bus concept in SG. At one point, there is going to be total madness with so many buses on roads and then LTA will introduce COE for buses

Lol
Then we will have less bus to take...
MR SAMUEL Ng's letter ("One gap LTA should've plugged"; Monday) mentioned that the Land Transport Authority shot down calls for a shuttle bus service in Tampines because it was "not viable".
This is akin to the situation in the Kranji countryside.
I have given feedback to the transport authorities about how the community of farmers and farm employees in the Kranji countryside has been neglected. There is no public bus service to the farms, and members of the Kranji Countryside Association have been paying for a private shuttle service for almost 10 years.
Each time we make an appeal to the LTA or Transport Ministry for support of the service, the reply is that the Government cannot offer backing as the service is "not viable". I have stressed repeatedly that the farmers are not asking for a full subsidy or even a full-service public bus. We are happy to fund part of the service, which needs only to be a minibus operating at 11/2-hour intervals.
Farms, visitors and the Government should all chip in to make this service viable and useful for the farming community in Kranji.
With the rising costs of doing businesses, farmers are facing increasing pressure to sustain the expensive private shuttle service.
The LTA should not assess appeals based simply on financial viability. Special communities - such as elderly folk in Tampines, needy Singaporeans and even poor foreigners - should be supported based on need.

if u fail down due to your own carelessness, you cant claim anything.... else, u can claim from the insurance.. obviously, these operators of PPSS have to apply for PTO license and therefore they need to have the necessary insurance as well.
this is a stop gap measure, until the second batch of BSEP came in...
I would suggest SBST/SMRT operating PPSS. It would not be possible to have WAB PPSS as the private buses have high steps.
