Ok I let you know 1 thing first. I received some strong rumours that the TPE bus stop will open end June 2014. Let's look forward to it. No speaking of any bus services that will stop at TPE bus stops.
Not surprising... bus stop seems ready... will be interesting to see how loading pattern of buses changes..

I foresee an addition of at least 5-8 mins of runtime for those svcs calling at that new bus stop..especially during Peak Hours.
The super thick traffic island to separate the bus bay & the car lanes seems to be good in theory, but I doubt it'll help much in reality to speed things up. Considering how drivers will be tempted to use the immediate lane beside the bus bay if it's empty & all clear, when in theory it's only for the buses to go through..
It's just going to be even more super chaotic after those 2 stops open imo. Greater convenience for the peeps living around that area, but a longer journey time for those pax on the buses to elsewhere.

and imagine when a crowded 27 bus comes to the stop... and 15 other people want to get in when the bus already has 70 pax... bus will stop for 3-4 pax to alight... and then BC will have to shout for people to go to the rear... or not open door... people frustrated... will complain like 190... bus will stop for 3-4 minutes on stop till the chaos is sorted...
That's why I am totally not in favor for 27 to stop here... unless they make 27A DD... only then LTA/SBST should make it stop... but if it goes with its mentality to make bus stop on all stops along the way... it will stop.

Hi mr SBS 9631X, you may be right or wrong. The length of the super long stops will help too. Loading of bus patterns may or may not change drastically in the longer term. Run time of 5 to 8 mins may be a bit on the high side as predicted but it may be slightly offset by the passenger loading pattern. I see an overall improved situation few months after implementation.

for the new TPE stop next to sengkang, the new road lanes and arrows are drawn. looking from it i suspect the stop may only serve routes that are turning left into Punggol Rd (sengkang) only. maybe its not serving routes turning into Punggol and routes that will continue the TPE northwards.
Hi mr SBS3688Y, for TPE stop next to sengkang side, highly possible you may be right. For TPE stop next to Punggol side, looks likely all will go. Anyway still unpredictable. Cheers!

Won't it be weird if the buses call only in one direction? Either you call in both directions, or you don't call the stop.

Hi mr BusAnalyser, yes I know it is weird. For TPE stop next to sengkang, there is still space to move from stop to the lane to turn right to Punggol or move straight northwards to continue on TPE. Just that the thick island separating gives some reasons for us to hope that it may only be for services turning into sengkang (Punggol road) only. Cannot wait to know the actual answers! Cheers.

that means one of the service will be 161

Hi mr Azharjj, no for sbs 161 because this bus service does not ply along the new bus stops at TPE. Its current route is out of the range which means it does not bypass the stops at all. Cheers.

looking from actual situation, i think there will be lots of cris-crossings and cause bottlenecks if buses try filter to go straight or turn right. worse every few moments traffuc lights turn red buses got stuck in between lanes and cause further congestion. we shall see...
Hi mr SBS3688Y, yes I passed by the roads these few weeks and ever since I saw the thick island separator for TPE stop at sengkang side, I was wondering what you just said. The criss-crossing!!! That may turn out to be the deciding factor. But for the stop at Punggol side, this is minimized. But so strange lor.
Sengkang side-> only buses turning into Punggol road (sengkang). Buses going straight (109, 168, 858, 969) may not be so bad. But buses turning right (3, 34) will have criss cross.
Punggol side -> all buses.
Not really possible planning end up may become a reality???
cheers!

Hi mr SBS3688Y, you leave out 27. Cheers.

I think everyone realizes apart from LTA and you that it doesn't make Sv 27 to call the stop unless LTA takes serious steps towards putting DDs on 27A.

Hi mr BusAnalyser, mr sbs3688Y knows that buses turning into sengkang (Punggol road) will most likely stop there. So he accidentally leaves out sbs 27. Not intentionally leave out.
Anyway, nothing much to worry. Sbs 27 stopping there will just so called 'shift the goalpost only'. Crowds which used to frequent the Punggol road blk 190C and blk 298A bus stop will disperse between the TPE stop and the next Punggol road stop or vice versa. So in actual fact, there is no significant passenger loading addition for sbs 27. Currently people who transfer to Punggol road stop to take sbs 27 there will split into transferring at TPE stop too. Cheers.

I think just rumours... Not possible.

People who take 27 from Hougang and Sengkang will end up transferring to 858 at the stop...
