2 should convert 3 SD to DD…
2 has lost demand between china town and bugis now... Don't see packed buses like before anymore
Originally posted by SMB128B:I don't think 20 should get DDs.
Most of 20's pax are short-haul pax which does not take the full route from CBP all the way to Tampines. Thus I don't think svc 20 is suitable for DDs.
On the other hand, 20 couldn't even get its peak freq right, with some buses coming after more than 10 minutes during peak! So I think it should start off with fleet add first.
Bro,., Sv 20 has significant loading from Simei during am peak... You can see ppl cannot board bus sometimes... So I don't know y u say this
Originally posted by carbikebus:80 should convert 1 SD slot to DD..fleet is okay but better if Arbp take a few duties.
On the contrary, few months back 1 dd slot was made Sd... All SDs do 80A I think in am... Haven't spotted any dd on 80A for long time and 80A has 7 buses... So maybe after slot downgrade... Now all SDs are used for 80A

False alarm.. I was in HG area today... Didn't see any WEG on 113

Sv 20 got DDs and it plies exactly the same streets as Sv 38... Sv 3 does not need DDs... For a trunk service, loading on TPE sector does not exceed 50-55 pax to warrant DDs. I am repeating myself - within Pasir Ris town, loading can go 80+ pax but there is 3A and 3B to manage that

What? Service 80 still has high demand. Last year, I saw a CDGE on 80A. But now, all KUBs.
From my experiences taking 20 (during PM peak hours) the full load seems to be in between Changi Business Park and Simei and upon leaving Simei and entering Tampines one can find seats easily.
Ignore the shifts. They are from service 5.

Loading between Tampines and Simei is 35-40 pax, between CBP and Simei has potential to exceed 70+

Saw a svc 20 DD along Upper Changi Rd East turning to Simei Rd @6.05pm. As I was sitting on a bus in the opposite direction, I could only see that upper decker was at least 1/2 full (most likely fully seated).

Maybe it is just me, but 3A's frequency in afternoon timing feels like normal 3's frequency, giving the feeling that more buses are concentrated within Pasir Ris-Tampines areas than buses that continues to Punggol during this timing. And I never seen 3A operate during PM peak (not sure on AM peak). Loading-wise, all I can say that it is weird (Like many taking from Tamp MRT towards Pasir Ris, but not the other way round). Still one of my favourite services due to its insane operating hours. Do correct me if I am wrong though.
TBH, I am a bit surprised by the new DDs add-ons recently. Both 20 and 3 seems to need DDs but can't ply due to the belief that Simei St 1/4 and Pasir Ris St 21/71 can't ply it. (Looks like I am proven wrong) (Simei do have bendies before though)

Haha knew it...HGDEP won't be so nice to put DD on 113 when the queue at interchange can be empty..
Launch of PPSS 291P and 293P on 24 June. Loading for both services were good, especially for PC2086J (ex SMB137A) where it got a full bus with standees for a few trips.

Hohoho. You dont judge a bus service by it's queue at the interchange..
The demand @ Kovan area itself is already DD loading so yeah.
There are many bus svcs which dosent have much demand at the interchange and they have DDs.. Eg. Sv 119,56,49,107/M,153 etc The key is the demand aft the interchange.. If you do not notice, commuters taking 113 dont even bother to queue and they just sit down and wait. This is very weird.
For distance, Even 225G/W, DDs are deployed even though commuters take this svc for only 1KM - 1.5KM.. So if 119 can get DDs, what would not happen?
Lets wait till 30/06/2014 and see what happens.

Add DD to the fleet? Might as well deploy 113A...
Well, I've noticed quite a few times..there's once 113 departed HG Int with only less than 10pax, all from the queue. And the waiting time could be rather long. I believe if u BSEP/Fleet add the route(or 113A), problem can be solved.
