119's demand still the same leh.. I have never seen a SD on 119 full before. Few standees, yes but not many pax leh.
Let's see if 113 will get DDs or additional split shift bus on 30 june..

This has been suggested multiple times... Crossover from 107/153 DDs returning to interchange can be used on 113A for sure, but LTA is against putting DDs on only the SWT of service if it does not have DDs otherwise.

Hi mr carbikebus, the route sbs 119 passes by is fixed. The sengkang portion is already developed so it will not have much effect on sbs 119. The Punggol portion for sbs 119 route is not yet fully developed. So that will help sbs 119 reach maturity crowds. Cheers.

Hi mr carbikebus, no I have not heard of any new bus parks yet. At this moment, I am waiting for news of opening of TPE bus stop but to no avail. You have any news? Cheers.
Originally posted by SBS9C:Launch of PPSS 291P and 293P on 24 June. Loading for both services were good, especially for PC2086J (ex SMB137A) where it got a full bus with standees for a few trips.
Boarded SMB137A, the bus was packed to the door when it departed Tampines for it's final trip of the day.
Can say the frequency of 291 is inconsistant. 1 Coach bunch up with a DD, and the coach loading have more than 10 pax. Spotted 1 of the Coach with 7-8 standing...
Overall, I believed that if LTA were to introduce this scheme with Low entry buses(prob city buses), more passengers can board, elderly wouldn't have much issue OR passengers could bring up their baby tram.
From observations, passengers are now fully relying on desto and EDS or were told of the svc by somebody. They wouldn't be fully aware of the svc without these..

Since it is calling at 291 berth, and there are always ground staff there during peak hours, they will make sure that people board the bus.

Can be a one off. Not sure from one observation that too from outside the bus, we can claim that loading on 119 has increased.

Currently, load is on Rivervale side. Even after PunggolmWest develops, I see not heavy usage of this service. Maybe loading between Punggol Field and Compass Point will go up from 20-25 pax today, but I see few people will travel to Rivervale area from there sbs beyond.
119's a "school-bus service" as it serves many schools. There is the LRT so residents utilise the LRT to Sengkang/Punggol UTC rather than taking 119. From rivervale to sengkang 119 uses a big loop when you can take sv 80 (2 stops). Also, it only serves kovan mrt on one side. For punggol west side i dun think it would get a surge in demand also. They should evaluate loadings before/after punggol west is fully developed before considering to put DDs.. SBST always emphasise on the operation costs of a DD bus, which is x2 the cost of operating a SD. Now we see empty 119 DDs running around even on PHs and Weekends (Full day) too. There are a few unique stops in rivervale area but i would say most of them wouldnt take this svc much though. Who would take this svc all the way to kovan mrt (big loop + waste more time) > city when u are rushing for work when you can take the LRT > SK > City which is much faster?

1. Sv 80 and 119 call at different stops within Sengkang. 80 does not go to Rivervale. For people living along Rivervale, who want to go to Kovan/Hougang, 119 does serve as an option. Am loading towards Kovan can be 55-60 pax.
2. I get surprised every time you speak about 119 loading because 113 loading is much poorer than 119 between HG and Kovan plus unlike 119, 113 has many alternatives with 62/82/107/112 having a large part of its route in parallel.
3. Just go clarify I am not advocating DDs on 119, but your point can only be taken seriously, when you start accepting that 113 route also has major fault between HG and Kovan.

Definitely not a one off.
Happens quite occasionally when bus is nearing int and when bus is near Kangkar Stn (both return direction).
On sundays few buses even get packed to door after church service (only bus to connect St Anne's to MRT).
See, you cant really say 119 has no loading. As of now I still can see buses with standees (half-filled wih standees if it's a citaro) turning out of St 21. But does it deserve DDs? Thats a big no-no.
For commuters who are travelling from Upper Serangoon Road(the following bus stops: opp Glad Tidings Church, Serangoon JC, bef Nativity Church Ctr, Hougang Plaza and Blk 465A) to Rivervale area. They would prefer taking Service 136 as it provides faster connection if both buses tend to be back to back, the trend which I have observed last time but not sure for now.
Same goes for Rivervale to Upper Serangoon Road/Kovan area, they would prefer taking Sv 136 unless the frequency screw up or Sv 119 turns up first but if they do so, both services tend meet together at the junction of Upper Serangoon Road/Hougang Ave 7 and 8 junction from what I have observed last time also.
I think Service 82 can consider deploying DD on Sunday AM period or beef up the frequency. From what I have noticed, the loading is quite high and most of the time the bus tend to be fully packed. For commuters who are travelling from Sengkang area to Hougang Mall or Kovan area as it provides a faster and shorter link.
Talking about Sv 80, 82, 119 and 136 (from my observation - I may be wrong)
- From Punggol Road (after TPE) to Kovan Station: Both Sv 82 and 136 can be equally on par regarding the travelling time
- From Sengkang East Way to Upper Serangoon Rd/Kovan: As mentioned above, Sv 136 is faster
- From Punggol Road (Rivervale Plaza and Blk 412) to Upper Serangoon Rd/Kovan: Sv 82 is faster as compared to Sv 80
- From Punggol Road (opp Blk 458, Punggol Park) to Upper Serangoon Rd/Kovan: Sv 119 is faster as compared to Sv 80 and 82. Sometimes Sv 82 can be on par with Sv 119. If the former drive faster than the latter.

I think it does not really matter for people. If they see 119 or 136, whichever comes first, people will take to Rivervale. There will be hardly 2 minutes time difference in traveling time of both services. But if you miss one bus, the other bus might come after 5-7 mins.
I have observed PM frequency for both 119 and 136 is 15-17 minutes.

That would be ridiculous... wherever required just add extra buses..
why would 291P and 293P loading be bad? Both have significant loading in AM/PM peak, do the same route, call at the same stop in the interchange. Ground staff at Tampines will make at least 40-45 pax board 291P before he brings the next bus forward.
Can service 4 use DD? I've seen a few Citaro departed the first stop with passengers packed to the doors :o [During peak]

Hi mr SMB128B, good observation overall but I will like to point out a slight oversight. Sbs 119 is not the only bus to connect st Anne's church to sengkang mrt. There are two services. Sbs 50 is the other service. Cheers.
I'd rather Sv 4 get the DDs than Sv 20..
Sv 20 can wait.

Service 4 I heard there are some height restrictions.
But a fleet add should be justified (perhaps 1 AM-PM, 2 S)
