ITE Yishun is unused since last year, when the new ITE College Central in AMK opened. Likely to remain vacant for some time unless it is occupied as a temporary school campus or torn down and redeveloped.
My suggestion would be to keep 806 express on st 31 as it is today. The bus is anyway very crowded. Let the new service 803 take the st 31 load. Ok for 850E to have a stop there.

How true is this
Yes that is exactly the route I am proposing with max 3 new stops.

I think it is highly unlikely that LTA will introduce new bus routes between Sengkang/Punggol and city area, except in the form of "City Direct" routes that are meant to relieve the load on the MRT. Many svcs were removed or cut short last time "due to duplication with the NEL".
Ideally, a new bus svc linking Sengkang/Punggol and city area should have travel time comparable to (or even less than) MRT, and should serve areas not directly connected to NEL. Your route is too winding going by Geylang/Kallang Rd and Crawford St, while the terminating point at RWS is easily accessible from HBF MRT/Vivocity.
To connect Sengkang residents with a useful bus alternative to the CBD, I would suggest making City Direct 654 a full day bus svc and having it go via KPE, ECP exiting at Rochor to serve Suntec City and Bayfront/MBS before continuing on its present route along Central Blvd and Shenton Way. This connects Sengkang to additional shopping areas and offices at Suntec and MBS, apart from the main CBD area at Shenton Way. The current route of 654 going direct towards Central Blvd and Shenton Way can continue to be operated as a variant route 654A during peak hours.

Highly unlikely that it will be full day. The long time suggestion is to just merge 107 and 82. This way buses can be saved and those who want to travel long distance can take bus. Also 82/107 ply almost parallel to MRT for long part of its route making it quicker and an option.
Northeast area like Sengkang and Punggol will definately get new svc to town once its fully develop later..Remember Punggol also get a better and bigger ITH later.Gov know MRT getting unstable lately.Sengkang to Bukit Merah or Punggol to Shenton Way is not possible under SBST

82 was actually cut short back in 2003 when NEL opened, used to be Punggol - Shenton Way. Merging 107 and 82 would be practically reviving the old svc 82, which is v. slow for travelling between Punggol/Sengkang and city area since it goes thru Hougang, S'goon and Kallang/Bendemeer areas.
If (and when) Sengkang/Punggol get a full day bus svc to town, it should provide a faster and viable alternative to the MRT by using the expressway. Looking at how 972 was introduced as a full day variant (in part) of 971E, Sengkang/Punggol could have a similar route in future when they are more developed, whether as a variant of 654 or a diff. bus svc serving other areas in these towns.

Old post from half a month ago, but I've been thinking about this issue for some time. Areas like Eunos and Bedok are quite easily accessible via NSL/CCL/EWL while for Pasir Ris, SBW residents can go to Yishun to take 39. Possible to x-fer bus at Pasir Ris to go to Changi Village, which is already served by quite a number of bus svcs.
However, bus transfers are required to access the industrial areas at Upp Changi Rd North (2,4,5,37) and Changi Biz Park (20), where there are large working crowds and mainly localised bus links to nearby MRT stations only. Thus, a direct bus svc from SBW to these areas in the east may be feasible.

-Can be numbered 984 if operated by SMRT. Since SBST is so superstitious to avoid regos with '4' in it, this svc probably won't be called 44. If SBST operates it, may be numbered 47. (or even 41 or 46)

I strongly suggest it to stop at Punggol Rd interchange instead of Jalan Kayu as it is not piratical at all (Jln Kayu bus stop is getting crowded) and it provides major improvement in connectivity to the east from North-East area, especially Punggol. Moreover, many students have to transfer numerous times to get to and from NE and ITE College East.
Jalan Kayu is outdated alr, and NE residents deserve a svc to the Upper Changi area.

I really like there route. I had proposed something very similar for extension of Sv 39 to UEC via Pasir Ris instead of going to Tampines, where it is redundant. Good to have a bus from Sembawang.

I agree. But when does this stop get ready? The press release came out more than a year back.

I'm not sure if many ppl use the jalan kayu stop for bus transfers to seletar aerospace hub at the moment, but the connectivity to that area will be important as it gets more developed in future.
I agree that the future bus stop at punggol rd interchange will provide much better connectivity for sengkang/punggol residents, but it's not clear if it will replace the existing jalan kayu stop or serve as an extra stop for svcs like 168, 39 and 858 (in addition to jalan kayu). The former would remove the cross-island connectivity to jalan kayu, while the latter may slow down bus journeys significantly for those travelling directly between the north and the east.

The Jalan Kayu stop will not go. For the Punggol TPE stop, I feel only a few services will call there. For instance, I doubt 168, 858 will call at this stop (given there is 27 and 34). But 39 may.

Hi mr bus analyser, I think you get it wrong this time round. The idea of the TPE bus stop is most possibly due to the strong lobbying for better transport for punggol residents by punggol residents whom have repeatedly talked to their MPs for it. They have constantly voiced out of poor transport planning in punggol. However, due to the location and town planning, it is not viable for most bus services to turn in punggol and come out of it. This will further lengthen the journey for residents in other estates. Thus the best possible solution is to enable the services travelling along TPE to stop at the punggol TPE bus stop (and sengkang TPE bus stop in opposite direction). This will give residents more bus services in both directions to more places. Precisely, 39, 168, 858, 969 are the exact services which will serve the bus stops.

if SBST operate then i dun think it will pass montreal etc cause of territorial reasons..
Maybe not even needed to go via Montreal etc. provide fast link from Sembawang int to east via Yishun Ave 2. SBST can operate.
As a second thought, of the bus is coming to Bedok, it will pass through SBST area anyway. So over here SMRT will be violating the territorial clause. So LTA should be okay even if SBST wants to operate route.
Suggestion: rationalise the feeder bus network at Jurong West (Extension area), to enhance bus connectivity within various parts of the area and better utilise Pioneer MRT Station as complementary to Boon Lay MRT Station.

- since Jurong West Street 81/82 is only a 2-lane road, each feeder route should ply one side of the road, not both ply the same side of the road.
the trunk bus network (99,185,192,193,252,255, etc.) can be edited to cover up the missing links, or links that are still unavailable.
meanwhile, express 502 should only complement the feeder bus routes, not ply their routes.
After all, 502 is an express service. since we pay premium bus fares for it, the service should also be premium. serving limited bus stops is a way it can be a premium service.
502 express la bro,535 is Premium,Look same but got differences.Agreed 502 should skip few stops.513 should run full day.Another express is needed in Sengkang to Orchard or loop at Bencoolen
181 should extend at least reach 20km total plus loop else it's redundant to be trunk svc, some feeder is longer than 181

Sorry your proposed changes just dont make sense to me. So much of route change for heavily popular services - IMPOSSIBLE to be ever implemented.
