I really like your service 983. It is really good, connecting new areas. I like it connects Sembawang internal areas, Woodlands ave 6 area directly to Ten Mile, BPJ Junction, ITE, CCK. This route will become successful and may even need bendies in future.
I would really like to see a new feeder service in Yishun catering to st 20, 21, 22 and industrial area of Yishun.
Originally posted by BusAnalayzer:I dont like that it is a loop service. From schedule adherence point of view, always becomes a problem. What I like is the service going through the smaller streets that normally do not have another service apart from feeder connection. We need more routes like that rather than routes serving same avenues that already have other services. This will help more point to point connectivity.
How about extending the service to terminate at Sengkang Interchange?
I've taken your advice and split it into two routes :)
1. SMRT Service 862
Yishun Int <-> Sengkang Int
https://mapsengine.google.com/map/edit?mid=z5U3OUiwcVD8.kaF05U8XDK-M
Express Along:
Gambas Ave
Woodlands Ave 12
And to cover deleted sectors:
2. Amended SMRT Feeder 802
Yishun Int <-> Yishun St 20/21/22/23/ Ave 6/9 (Loop)

Your 802 is fine. But, as for 862, I think more people would rather take 965 from Yishun to Sengkang...

I made this route not to be direct, but more to connect different estates like Upper Thomson or Yio Chu Kang and provide links or alternatives to Yishun or Sengkang. As well as the West End of Sengkang West Way, which is currently only served by 85.

you lose the link between Sembawang MRT and Woodlands ave 9... Lot of working people take 858 from Sembawang MRT...
I think 858 is fine the way it is... 168 - 858 makes u reach airport pretty fast... Less time than 168 takes to Tampines MRT, 858 will already be at airport.

984 not bad... 982 is okay...
I prefer if 982 goes to Pasir Ris instead of Airport with 858.

Heh. Not surprised leh, LTA is liddat one lah, disregard all the on-ground sources and think they very smart and experienced, run their own show... After all, what can u expect from a dictator authority!

IMO, should really implement ffw858e, from Woodlands, one stop at Admiralty, one stop at Sembawang, 1 at Yishun Ave 5, 1 at Yishun Int, 1 at Khatib MRT, then express to CGA, POWER!
Sure packed bus...

Originally posted by Acx1688:Wrote to LTA to combine 82/107(duplication), kenna rejected, press them for reason, they told me we will take into account your suggestion when we review the bus routes
@Acx1688 I think I know why LTA rejected your suggestion.
Simply because the demand for bus services at that area is too high, and combining them into 1 single bus service would reduce the supply of bus services.
Some routes are similar because they complement each other, so that the load can be spread out. If combine those routes into one single route, the entire load will be on that one route and there will be a lot of unnecessary complications regarding crowd management.
More bus services = better ride.
Alternatively, instead of combining bus services, you could suggest to LTA to introduce a new bus route, which duplicates sections of these bus services.
That is probably why the new BSEP bus routes are mostly duplicating existing bus services. For instance, BSEP service 49 duplicates mainly existing service 98.
