Hi mr carbikebus, I do not see the need for sbs 503. Buona vista/holland road/holland ave/commonwealth ave are heavily linked to orchard by sbs 7, 77, 106, 111 which is only a short 10 to 15 min journey away. Buona vista/holland road is also linked by sbs 165 to ang mo kio vs Adam/lornie/Thomson rd which is a fast 25 min journey. They are already considered express in the sense of short journey timing.

Does anyone here know the crowded-ness of SLE-bound buses after Khatib MRT (39, 85, 858, 965, 969) during AM peak or PM peak?
I was wondering whether it would be feasible to divert one of the buses over to serve Yishun Ave 1 and Sembawang Rd before turning to SLE.
This would give better connections over to the Lower Sembawang / Nee Soon area (to Khatib MRT & the NE / Tampines etc) and at the same time not create too big a route change. Lentor Ave has enough buses serving it already, shouldn't cause too much inconvenience with one less route.
Hi. I would like to suggest a new temporary bus service which would exist for only around ten years, until around 2025, when the Jurong Region MRT Line opens.
While the Jurong Region MRT Line is still being developed, this new bus service can enable people staying in the North to have some of the benefits in advance, before they enjoy the full benefits when the MRT line is ready.
This bus service is kind of similar to City Direct, using mostly expressway.
If implemented now, it may help relieve loading levels off bus services 179 and 199, even before Jurong Region Line is ready to takeover the bus service.
Service 973: Choa Chu Kang - Buona Vista
Stupid P services introduced by LTA.
these should be some P services LTA should actually consider to improve connectivity to new areas rather than overlaying bus services on same routes where not even needed. I support 912P though (the only of the many).
286P - Clementi Interchange / Pandan Crescent
71P - Jurong East Interchange / Tanjong Penjuru Loop
303P - CCK interchange / Sungei Kadut loop (stops at yew tee MRT as well)
925P - Kranji MRT / Sungei Kadut crescent
169P - Woodlands Interchange / Seneko Loop
** All bus services operate uni-directional.
There should also be P services connecting Woodlands industrial estate, Areas of Benoi, Gul, Pioneer sector and Tuas not covered by existing services. This is where LTA can be effective to provide link to workers and not look at profit.

71P too quick la... haven't even got this svc alr propose, how you know loading will really warrant PPSS?
I really liked 925P and 169P though. But I hope a good operator with proper city buses would operate 169P.

71P would overlay route of Sv 78 just that it will cater to TP crescent/ loop that has no route today.

As for Hougang Ave 1 towards kovan, can enhance frequency of 113/113A.
I would rather do this as 45 P.. As there is significant pax who go to HG ave 1 with Sv 53.

For Bartley Rd East - Lornie Rd sector this svc should ply every underpass/flyover along the route wherever there is one.
Not sure if this has already been suggested.
So far, most of the buses linking HDB towns are concentrated in the Central - NE - Eastern corridor, and with the Nature Reserve taking a large portion of space between Central and West HDB towns, buses connecting the West side (BB, CCK) have to make a large loop down to the south (PIE, Bt Timah) to connect with Central or CBD. There are virtually no buses that make the loop over from the north (SLE, Mandai) to make these connections, so commuters have to travel the long loop north to Woodlands or south to Buona Vista / Bt Timah.
Hence I propose these two services, with just general and tentative routes, with the hope that they can improve connections between Western and Central / Northeast HDB towns. As for the service numbers - I just use them because they don't seem to have been used yet, and can probably set the standard for future routes (i.e. 470-499 for Inter-HDB town links or the sort)

The routes are tentative, and some sections may be trimmed if the loop is unnecessary (perhaps the Bt Batok - CCK section of 496 or the YCK section of 497? I dunno). Minor route adjustments can also be added respectively. All criticisms and suggestions are welcome ;)
Routes are nice and different. Few points:
1. Cannot identify with the numbering.. Better if first service has number 117 and second one 118
2. Loading will be poor between these towns. It will be one of those routes where for the first one year, demand will have to be generated.
3. People normally take into consideration where they want to live or work based on their connectivity. Even when you move out of your parent's house, you will already look for a place that is connected well by MRT or bus. Hence, to start with you will get a poor response and with time the loading might pick up.
4. Full Sd fleet to start with

Hi mr darrylpohmaple, isn't that a similar mirror of sbs 196?

Hmm...If you say a mirror route, it's something like how you spot the bus but I prefer 198 to ply AYE & alexandra road if it's heading towards Jalan Bukit merah instead of North bouna Visita road, Commonwealth Ave and Queensway.
