Reasons:
- Helps to bring direct connection from CCK to JE, with a better frequency than 160 which is irregular and can have erratic frequencies.
- Helps to bring a new connection from Sembawang and Yishun to CCK and JE (north to west)
- Serves CCK Ave 4 for 300, CCK Ave 1 for 172 and Teck Whye Lane to reuse previous stops on 307
Possible changes:
- Can be amended to Yishun Ave 7
- Can be amended to CCK North 5 (via Woodlands Road) to help 307
- Can be amended to serve BBT to give direct connection to JE.
Any suggestions?

Hi mr lffwo1993, it is not really feasible to have a bus service with 1 looping point and another pt which is not a bus terminal or interchange for obvious reasons. Cheers.

I think that another service can go from Sembawang to HarbourFront, via Yishun Ring Road (the route you suggested from Sembwang to Khatib), Yishun Ave 1, Upper Thomson Road, Thomson Road, Newton Road, Paterson Road, Outram Road and Kampong Bahru Road...

While we can suggest long inter-town routes for all we want, under LTA's hub-and-spoke model it is unlikely that such new routes will be feasible unless they offer significant time savings or convenience over the MRT. From Sembawang to CCK/BBT, MRT would be faster than this proposed route unless you're taking this service direct without any transfers, which is unlikely since it mostly connects residential areas.
Between Yishun and Yew Tee/CCK/BBT, most ppl would be heading towards industrial estates, schs like ITE College West or the army camps along Sembawang Rd (Khatib Camp, Chong pang camp etc) or at Yew Tee (Kranji Camp II/III, Mowbray camp). Currently, 171 provides a North-Northwest connection between Yishun and Bt Panjang, serving Sembawang Rd and allowing for transfer to other svcs at Bt Panjang. When DTL is opened, 171 section from BPJ to Orchard/Marina Ctr can be removed, and the route extended to CCK and/or Yew Tee/Bt Batok, providing more inter-town connections. At the moment, I don't think a separate North-Northwest bus route is needed, especially since the general link is already provided by MRT.
As for short, regional connections e.g. Yishun-Sembawang or Yew Tee-Bt Batok, these can be better served by short routes within the housing estates themselves or between adjacent estates. I agree with BusAnalyzer that Yishun Ring Rd can have more bus svcs. Maybe 850E can be operated full day to Marina Centre or looping at Suntec, with a peak hour variant to Shenton Way. 860 may be extended to serve the new flats coming up at Canberra in future and terminating at Sembawang, providing another link between Yishun and Sembawang. 103 can be extended from Seletar to Yishun, though may not go via Yishun Ring Rd since it's a bit longer. Most direct route would be via Yishun Ave 11 and Yishun Central.

That was why the original 861 route by me was meant to go from Sembawang to Jurong East, so less people need to change if they need to go to the west. In the original route, I didn't include the Bukit Batok West Ave 5/2 sector (only used Bukit Batok Road), which was purposely done to give passengers a direct alternative from CCK to Jurong East other than the irregular 160. I also used Mandai Road in the route instead of Woodlands, so that CCK (and Bukit Batok) residents could get a new link to Yishun and Sembawang.

I like your suggestion. Very realistic to get implemented. Also provides direct connectivity for ave 2 residents, who have to rely on long winding route of 300 via ave 3-5-4 to get back to CCK MRT.
The number of people staying in Taman Jurong will increase steadily over the next few years, as new BTO flats are developed there. Although some are on sites of past flats that were demolished, the number of units in the new BTOs are more than the number of units in the original flats. Meanwhile, some (eg. the upcoming one) are on sites that never had flats. With more people in Taman Jurong, the current feeder 240 may be unable to handle.
Likewise for Boon Lay, which also has new BTOs.
I suggest that 240 should be shortened and re-routed to loop within the residential area of Taman Jurong. This should adjust the feeder well to accomodate the increase in population, by serving the new BTOs in TJ while benefit the new BTOs in BL with better service reliability (due to shorter route).

Route from Hougang Depot

Buangkok MRT
Sengkang MRT
TPE, Exit Tamp Ave 12 like 969
Follow 15 to Tamp Ave 5
Go straight down Simei Ave passing by ITE
Enter CBP and follow 20 and loop back
Advantages
Faster connection from Sengkang to Tampines, can relieve 27's loadings drastically. I think this service can get full fleet DDs as 27's commuters will all flock to this now. 27 can half its fleet and freq can be more stable. Tamp to Airport still have 34 too.
Tampines to CBP direct route, relieve 20's peak hours crazy loadings. 20 will be more for ppl going Simei, while people going to the more populated Tampines will take this.
Relieve 31's loadings from Tamp to ITE
Provide new connections to Defu area (currently no bus svc) and upcoming Upp Serangoon flats area
After TPE bus stop open, 969's loadings will explode as commuters who want fast travel would hop onto any bus in Sengkang/Punggol to TPE bus stop and change 969 directly to Tampines. This svc will relieve loadings for 969.

Very good route... Something similar to what I had proposed earlier. I highly doubt a route would initiate from HGDEP and if it plies Defu, it should do HG MRT. I propose some modifications, providing more connectivity, yet keeping it fast to Tampines.

sv 20 route looping @ CBP
* provides Buangkok and HG MRT access to new flats along Upper Serangoon rd and Buangkok dr
* trunk route and MRT connectivity for residents along HG ave 5/7
* direct MRT stop at compass point since 27 stop is far from MRT, promoting more ppl to take Sv 47
* TPE and Punggol rd stop to get fast to Tampines
* MRT and Tampines 4/5 connectivity to flats along st 41 and ave 9 (new stop)
* additional trunk connectivity to poorly connected ITE, Changi hospital and CBP hubs
* route can have 80% DDs and Sv 27 fleet can be cut down to 20 buses from 32 buses with Sv 47 having dedicated 14 DDs, 4 SDs (fleet of 18 buses)

Nicoll Dr - Changi Beach CP 3, Changi Beach CP 4, Changi Beach CP 5
During PM Peak, 129 will skips the stops in opp direction only
129M to serve all stops in express sector
Pros
Link YCK/Lentor MRT to AMK St 65
Link Lentor MRT/AMK Ave 3/S'goon Nth to NYP
Link S'goon/Bartley MRT to TP/Tamp
Link Tamp West MRT with TP
Serve full stretch of Tamp Ave 4
Express from Tamp to Loyang/Changi
Cons
AMK sector too long
Duplicates with Svc 19
I think the pros of this route lies with its AMK Intra-Town, S'goon - Tamp and Tamp to Loyang/Changi Ferry/Alps Ave. Yes, I am aware it duplicates 19 (because it is one of two routes to Changi, other being Upp Changi Rd Nth, which is less direct). So its peak route is made express to get different loads from 19, despite being on the same route. 129M is more of a school bus svc, fetching people to NYP, TP and Changi Ferry. While 129 is more for industrial, 129M is more for residental. However, 129 can also serve 129M's needs, and vice-versa

Well..
1. The only thing u can talk about is how great service 113 is
2. How badly SBST/LTA treat Sv 113
3. How only u find 113 always packed to door.. Whenever anyone else has taken the service, there has been enough space even during peak (multiple users here have taken it given ur constant ranting)
4. 113 needs DDs (May be u wrote 1000 posts just on that). Even if some of us agree 113 needs a fleet add or crossover during peak, we are totally bored to hear anything more on 113
5. How u have said DDs on 101 is waste and should be given to 113 (countless such examples)
so for me if u again want to post about 113 and think we haven't had/heard enough of it... U r just blah blah blah..

Thanks, I'll take that in mind. ;) Instead of North-Northwest, now I propose Central-Northwest-West from the northern corridor. Hence amendments to my old route:

Like I said, some people just need to learn to be careful what they post here... (I'm not purely refering to SBS5010P here though)

I agree... It's as rude as rolling your eyes at someone.
