164 reminds me of an old SGoon - SBW route of mine. Anyway, one weakness I can thought of is that if I compare WDL to Khatib MRT sector, MRT could take either the same time as 164, or faster than 164. It may be faster if 164 ply SLE immediately. However, WDL Sth residents will definately benefit from it, since it plys WDL Sth MRT. Other than that, I think it is quite good overall.
For 47, I thought the original plan is a semi-dupe of 27 from SK - Tamp? A bit odd that it plys Tamp East before going to SK.
Anyway, we may need a service from PSR (other than 5) and Tamp to ply SUTD campus directly once it opens.

- Merges with 113 creating space for sv 164 at Hougang Interchange
- Provides SGN & Kovan MRT connectivity for Lor Ah Soo/HG Ave 1 resident with possible use of DDs
- Provides HG MRT link to new blocks along Upper Serangoon Rd
- New stops along Buangkok Drive to connect to Buangkok MRT
- Sengkang MRT access for people to travel to Tampines
- covers Tampines ave 7, 9, 4, 5 connecting many parts of Tampines internally without going to Interchange & providing link to NEL
- link between Tampines and NEL to ITE & Tanah Merah areas
- alternate service to ITE from Tanah Merah
- additional service to Tanah Merah for UEC and Bedok South ave 3 residents
- withdrawal of sv 45A, 53A & 53B with introduction of sv 47A & 47B that will ply from Serangoon Interchange looping @ Kovan MRT
- will reduce loading on sv 27 and provide higher connectivity with little duplication with sv 27.

UEC has space. And the reason is to connect more areas in Tampines, ITE and Tanah Merah to NEL side as well.

Thanks for your points. IMO, if you see 164 route it will be faster to Yishun and Khatib apart from those who would take from Woodlands MRT to Khatib MRT. If someone is around WDL Ave 5 or 4 or 1, will need feeder service to get to WDL first. In this case, 164 will be super fast. Also those from Yishun Central, Yishun ave 6/11/4 can get this service as a quick option to WDL or NEL side.
It will also provide direct connectivity for Punggol and Sengkang east residents.

There are couple of reasons for this:
- I tried to connect different parts within Hougang and Sengkang to different parts within Tampines town
- Those who need to take service to crossover to sv 27 will not need to do this. Else will just take sv 47 to their destination and can change to sv 27/168 if needed at TPE stop. Also those from 168/27 can change over to 47 to get quickly to other parts within Tampines. After all, not everyone needs to go to Tampines MRT
- It also connects ITE and could be amended to ply CBP (but then will be loop service until terminal is up & running). This would be the best once SUTD opens.

I think sv 39 can be amended to terminate at SUTD once it opens and CBP terminal is up & running. This way it will not only connect Tampines ave 7 & 5 to CBP but also Pasir Ris town along dr 1. For dr 3, there will still be sv 5.
* doing this will not be an issue to commuters as there is sv 8/18/20/292/38 connecting different parts of Tampines ave 5 to Tampines MRT anyway
Should there be another svc like 128 that runs parallel to MRT track? (Along EWL - Boon Lay >> City)
Originally posted by TIB429E:Should there be another svc like 128 that runs parallel to MRT track? (Along EWL - Boon Lay >> City)
sv 128 is a fail fail... we need more trunk services that connect inner avenues/streets not connected by MRT... so that people choose them rather than bus --> MRT --> bus.

Making change to my own prior route suggestion on sv 47 starting from AMDEP instead.
Route:
AMDEP, AMK St 65, YCK Road, AMK Ave 6, AMK Ave 3, YCK Road, HG Ave 9, HG Ave 4, HG St 51, Buangkok Green, Buangkok Dr, Sengkang Central, Sengkang East Ave, Sengkang East Rd, Sengkang East Way, Punggol Rd, TPE (express), Tampines Ave 7, Tampines Ave 9, Tampines St 41, Tampines Ave 4, Tampines Ave 5, Simei Ave, New Upper Changi Road, Bedok South Ave 3, Upper East Coast Road, Upper East Coast Terminal

214344502607909872197.0004ebf16852938254b10
Advantages:
* New stop along AMK st 65 to provide direct connectivity to YCK MRT
* Direct connectivity between AMK Ave 6 & AMK Ave 3
* Direct connectivity between AMK Ave 3 & HG Ave 9
* Direct connectivity between HG St 51 to closest MRT - Buangkok (better utilize this MRT instead of crowding Hougang)
* Other advantages like connections to Tampines ave 7, 9, 4, 5 and facilities like ITE/Tanah Merah/Changi Hospital continue as proposed earlier.
Revised sv 115
Route: (2 buses)
HGDEP, HG Ave 3, Tampines Road, Upper Serangoon Rd, HG St 21, Tampines Rd, HG Ave 3, HGDEP

152 from Sambawang to Tampines. Use 167 route then turn to CTE then PIE turn out to eunos then using 28 route to Tampines
956 from sambawang to east cost park only operate on friday and weekend and eve of public holiday and holiday. same as 152 but go to still road and into east cost park service road.

I feel it is better for new route from EUN looping @ Marine Tce. 76 can extend to CBP.

292 and 293 to switch routes around N9 to serve Tamp West MRT
292
Tamp Int,Ave 5,4 (Tamp West MRT),1,St 11,Ave 2,St 22

22 amended to Tamp Ave 3 to cover old 293 route

65 amended to Tamp Ave 4 to cover old 22 route
Tamp Int,Ave 5,4,Bedok Reservoir Rd,Continue to HBF
This will connect Ave 3, St 11 and St 22 with Tamp west MRT. It will also boost connections along Ave 3/4 by linking it with Bedok and SAFRA bus stop. 22 can ply the old 293 route connection between Ave 4 and 3, and 65 is chosen to replace its old route at Ave 4, as it runs parallel with 21 from Ave 5 to Kaki Bukit. People who may not benifit from this change may be residents going to Tamp MRT from St 11, and TP students who uses 293 from N4 to go to TP. The former can be solved by having a 27M to loop at St 11, and the later can be solved by amending 18 to ply Ave 9 and 1

Would it be better for svc 22 to be amended to Tampines Ave 4, 3, 8, 1 (via Temasek Poly), Bedok Reservoir Road and continue to AMK? This can enhance connectivity of Temasek Poly although the route is too windy.. (Just saying)

You already have 972 as 971E's full day variant, off peak/weekend demand is mostly to Orchard only, no need go to Shenton Way.
Svc 700's demand seems to have dropped after 972 introduced, demand likely will fall further when DTL2 opens in 2016. Suggest 972 merge with 700 in future, loop around Senja/Segar/Fajar then go down to Petir Rd before entering BKE from Dairy Farm Rd. Operation like existing 700/A, towards Shenton Way until evening on weekdays/until afternoon on Sat, then loop at Suntec at all other times. 75 or 184 can be amended to ply Petir Rd/Dairy Farm Rd instead of Cashew Rd, to provide the direct connection between Petir Rd and Bt Panjang town centre.

-alternative to 172 between Jln Bahar and Boon Lay, and alternative to 925 between Kranji Ind. area and Kranji MRT/Woodlands
-provides public transport link to farmhouses in Kranji/Neo Tiew, where people working there currently rely on private transport

Instead of merging 700 and 972, better to extend 700 to CCK interchange via Keat Hong, CCK ave 6 and 4. 100+ HdB buildings coming up in this region that deserves trunk service apart from feeder.
