As for my opinion, I would rather have Svc 243 serving St 71 and then Svc 242 serving Pioneer Road North & Jurong West Ave 4 (Loop)
So it is this way:
Svc 242
Booon Lay Interchange
Jurong West Central 1
Jalan Boon Lay
Jurong West Ave 4
Jurong West St 72
Jurong West Ave 5
Pioneer Rd North
Jurong West Ave 4
Jalan Boon Lay
Jurong West Central 1
Boon Lay Interchange
Svc 243 (Green/White)
Boon Lay Interchange - Boon Lay Interchange
Jurong West St 64 - Jurong West St 62
Jurong West St 75 - Jurong West St 61
Jurong West St 82 - Jurong West St 71
Jurong West St 81 - Jurong West St 81
Jurong West St 71 - Jurong West St 82
Jurong West St 61 - Jurong West St 75
Jurong West St 62 - Jurong West St 64
Boon Lay Interchange - Boon Lay Interchange
People staying in Jurong West Street 93 (and people covered by the bus stops at blk 834 and 709) will be affected most by your proposal.
In addition, if the route of 242 remains the same, yet it also serves people staying in Jurong West Street 93 (as well as people staying in Jurong West Street 81 and 71 now taking 243 from the bus stops at blk 709, 834 and 705), the loading on 242 will increase - although it will still be lower than the loading on 242 prior to 15 March 2009.
Although the load on 242 has already been reduced, the current supply does not seem enough to meet the current demand for 242. Until 242 is able to cope, we should not extend the coverage of 242.
Unless, besides extending the coverage, the extension can also spread out the load such that the (average) loading can be smaller - via extending to a MRT station (eg. Pioneer MRT Station) or a major bus stop elsewhere that is not within it's current coverage, where people can have another place to board the bus.
If extending the coverage can reduce the (average) loading, then only should we extend the coverage of 242.

* Routed directly to NEX (can change sv 81/82 to call at stop opp NEX if needed). Since this service does not ply length of YCK road, only people needing to go to Serangoon North ave 1/3/4 will take service, but at least calls at same stop as sv 315
* Need 2 additional buses, maybe with this routing, can also experiment with 2 BSEP WEGs. Total fleet size: 09 buses.

Hi mr busanalyser, good to have such a very connected type of route for minor roads which brings people to doorstep. But not very feasible to implement.
1st: long detour for serangoon north residents to go hougang interchange/central
2nd: once a bus service goes into too many side roads (serangoon north ave 3/4, hougang st 91/51, Buangkok drive, sengkang east ave), it runs into the risk of current bus service no 3 which is very dragging. Route is too winding though fairly direct. Better to incorporate some side roads into another service and not to have all minor roads into 1 service.
Cheers.

* Connects lower sector of Loyang Industrial that has no bus service (very surprising that SBST has not introduced a service for this area inspite of high popularity of sv 6)
* Two way loading as it plies highly residential area of Pasir Ris Dr 2, st 11 and st 12 that do not have many alternatives to MRT (new stop along st 12 will provide doorstep bus service to HDB blocks there)
* Service will provide some relief to heavily crowded services like 359 and 6. Also faster than sv 359 to MRT for st 11/12 residents
* Fleet of 6 buses (3 DDs, 3 Citaros)
* Service under BSEP
Revisit this after noticing something. Probably why Svc 6 don't ply South Loyang Industrial is due to that area being walking distance from the bus stop at Dr 3 opp Pasir Ris Pri Sch. Pax heading there may take this route over Svc 108 as there are 2 svc there and way lesser stops to reach there. If 108 is amended to catch the Loyang Ave/Tamp crowd, it may be feasible (is that how to spell it?)
Anyway, it give me an idea for a route amendment.

Full day schedule to cater to residents living around Blk 275 bus stop (Can be 30 min frequency). During night, there used to be 357 from Pasir Ris, but now without 357, and 19 don't operate at night, the nearest MRT at that stop is Simei (Svc 9)

I know we think differently here. I dont see the value of 116 to Hougang Interchange with its current route that duplicates sv 72 that has such a superb frequency. Those at Serangoon North will prefer Serangoon MRT over Hougang (faster). Else they have Buangkok MRT connection.
If someone really wants to go to interchange from Serangoon North, can take 116 to Hougang 1 and change to sv 72. I think you are missing out the number of HDBs and people the modified service will cater to.
Also connect st 91/51 to closest MRT that is Buangkok. And it is a straight road all the way. Also connects Upper Serangoon/Sengkang east ave to both Buangkok and Hougang MRT.
Anyway, its just a suggestion, which will use 116 better than what it is today even after 2 years of introduction.

Hi mr ButIAmAToilet, yes currently many people alight at the pasir ris drive 3 stop to walk to the south Loyang industrial area. Most who need to go there will also have company transport. There are also other services like sbs 5 and 89. Thus there is no need for any other services to go inside Loyang way and Loyang crescent. At present, sbs 6 has DDs which is more than enough to cope with capacity. Previously all are SD. No need for sbs 359 to be re-routed or introduce sbs 108.
Seriously, no need for sbs 19M. No crowds inside Loyang industrial estate at night. They are within walking distance to bus stop outside Loyang avenue where they have sbs 9, 19, 59, 89, 109 to connect there to pasir ris/tampines easily. Plus sbs 29 on the other side of Loyang too. More than enough and certainly no need for new services! Cheers.

I understand what you are trying to say. However, 359's amendment is more of giving it a terminating point while maintaning both its route and giving bi-direction to St 11. Bi-direction feeders helps a lot especially on a rainy day. It can also free a few bus bays at Int. The idea is inspired from services like 265 and 268. It was never intended to serve Loyang Industrial. Hope this explain more about my suggestion

I'm slightly doubtful if the place served by 381 is still feasible during weekends.
Although 380 seems okay, but the people of Joo Chiat seems quite fine with 33 going to Dakota or walking to Paya Lebar/Eunos.

Appreciate your route 381 to Kaki Bukit and can be operated like sv 94... it should be from Eunos Interchange.
No need for 380.
Also just on the numbering - 38x series is gone for Punggol... and won't be use for Eunos... Also the Kaki Bukit service will be operated as trunk and not feeder... so will need to find another number..

Actually I'm thinking 381 could be in operation like 964/981, but different in timing:
Weekdays:
- Morning Peak (6AM - 10AM)
- Afternoon (12NN - 2PM)
- Evening Peak (5PM - 9PM)
Saturday:
- 6AM - 2PM
Sunday/Public Holiday:
- No Operation

It should be okay. But then again some of the major roads are quite close to where 381 serves.

Not really... when it goes to Kaki Bukit and the dorms near Bartley east.. .there is no service for this entire industrial area.
LTA has neglected many of these but should realize with launching sv 4/20 that there is good demand for such services.
Even look at 78/79/98 that cater to industrial estates - huge peak hour crowds. People prefer PTO services than private buses as it gives them more flexibility with timing and also cheaper to travel.
Hence, when such services are introduced they are bound to be a hit. Only weekends and off-peak a bit of a challenge.

Think maybe reuse 68 to replace 381 if so, since Eunos has quite a number of 6x series services...

The amount of buses needed is like Taiwan's most popular Service 307 with atleast 100 of buses for its fleet... Almost triple the 307's travel distance... BC confirm shag like fk! 2 trips at most per day per BC... No need gym, everyday like this your body confirm muscular...

TBH, some of the parts ain't that bad XD
Like S'goon North - Tamp/East Coast, HBF - Bukit Timah, CCK - JE
I got a very good laugh (and the one from some user's house to IMH)
Anyway, I think 381 should serve Kaki Bukit MRT, and 380 should serve Paya Lebar MRT
Slight amendment for 94
Eunos Int (Eunos MRT)
Sims Ave/Changi Rd,Jln Turi
Jln Eunos
Eunos Link
Ubi Ave 2 (Ubi MRT)
Ubi Rd 3,Ave 3,Rd 2
Airport Rd
Connects Paya Lebar Airport area and areas north of Ubi MRT to Ubi MRT
Additional two stops for Eunos pax
Eunos Link have many alternatives (25,51,55,93,854)
Helps 58 copes with inner Ubi pax, and bring them to a closer MRT station (Ubi MRT is closer than Kaki Bukit or Tai Seng MRT)
