This is a new trunk route which loops at Bukit Gombak.
First, it complements route 945 and provides bus connection to Bukit Gombak MRT Station for residents staying near Dazhong Primary School - there is currently no bus connection to the MRT station.
Second, it provides inter-town bus connection between Jurong West and Bukit Batok - as passengers of Jurong West can commute on their individual feeder bus and transfer to this new trunk service at bus stops along Jurong West Avenue 2/4, while those staying around Jurong West Avenue 2/4 can simply take this new trunk service from their doorstep.
- With this new trunk service, Jurong West passengers going to Bukit Batok would no longer have to stopover at Boon Lay Bus Interchange - may help to relieve load off bus routes 174, 157 and 187, and benefit passengers commuting on those bus services, while reduce the crowding level at Boon Lay Bus Interchange.
- Same applies to Bukit Batok passengers going to Jurong West.
SBS Transit should operate service on this route, with buses originating from Soon Lee Bus Depot and Bukit Batok Bus Depot (injecting into service from Bukit Batok West Avenue 2, via Bukit Batok Central, BB Avenue 1. BB East Avenue 6 and BB Street 23).

Boon Lay is already overcrowded... So it's still better to start at SLBP, but still can extend to Bukit Batok Int...

It is somehow short for a loop service...I don't really find a need to have two terminal points.
Start an express BSEP bus service from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore Please.

Total Length (both directions) = 35.5km (still 600m shorter than bus route 185)

possible route for new feeder 371
new feeder 244. (new section in blue)
Length = 6.95km (750m longer than 241)
Benefits:
154B should have been express between Clementi MRT and Manju Camp for faster turn around and express service to students just like 179A. No need for all the intermediate stops that are already catered by 52/154/184 and do not have much loading during AM peak.

- I doubt the new feeder would ply Anchorvale Street because this would duplicate the LRT.
- Otherwise, from Sengkang East Road, it would first go to Anchorvale Street, then go to Seng Kang East/West Way via Anchorvale Road.
This feeder 371 is not possible at all. Duplicate 85 and 372 too much, and also duplicate the LRT in some means. If not, why did it get withdrawn 9 years ago?
Maybe 9 years ago population at Sengkang isnt that significant and theres NEL LRT to promote also?Right now LTA siao siao wanna add supplement bus routes to cater those overcrowding bus service..I can forsee those route where only 1 service ply would have BSEP svc compliment them

Hope 371 can come back lor, and maybe can have 501 and 502 back also

The old 371 is 163M's route, why have 2 routes when 1 is sufficient with DD deployments??
With NEL and 80 to head to town, I see no reason why 502 should be back at Sengkang, with the fares shooting over the roof~

Why would you want the 502 back haaaaaa????? U think what, so funny, as CTE might be jammed during morning and evening peaks? 371 can revert to the East Loop where more BTOs are built.
501 is renamed to Premium 550 and charged higher fares.

I doubt the new feeder can go to Sengkang East.

Ya lah that's why lah. So why YET ANOTHER feeder to run around basically like a second svc 120? If you ask me I would rather the new BTOs and bus stops to be served by a new trunk, as there is an LRT around alr (thus greatly cutting chances of a new feeder). Even if LTA really so crazy I doubt they will really still start a 371 liddat bah... Maybe a trunk to ply these areas before leaving Sengkang. After all, why 2 when 1 can do the job?
Sv 371: Sengkang Interchange, loop @ Jalan Kayu
Sengkang Interchange
Compassalve Road (2 stops)
Compassalve St (1stop)
Anchorvale St (new stop - blk 330)
Anchorvale Rd (new stop - blk 326C)
Sengkang East Way (Sengkang Sports Complex, opp Blk 471A - new, blk 432A - new, blk 451A - new)
Jalan Kayu (blk 448B)
Sengkang West Ave (express)
Fernvale Rd (blk 453D - new)
route continues to Sengkang Interchange. 5 new stops in 1 direction, hardly any duplication with LRT or Sv 372 or Sv 50/163.
With 371 plying Compassalve St, recommend 83 to ply Compassalve Crescent to provide direct MRT connectivity to blk 290-292-296 with 2 new stops along Com Cres.

Possible - there is still scope for a feeder with little LRT duplication or duplication with 50/163/372 as shown above.
Suggestion: Sv 50 to ply Rivervale Crescent before going to Punggol East with 2 new stops. Add one bus to improve capacity and extra runtime.
Suggestion: Sv 136 should ply Upper Serangoon Crescent with 2 stops along blk 471B and Parkland Residence. With this, it will not call at Serangoon Sec School stop but Parkland stop will be very close. Sv 62 will still call at Serangoon Sec School stop. This change will provide direct MRT connection to blk 471 residents, who have to walk quite a distance to nearby stop.
Sv 163M should be removed with adding 1 more bus to 50. The latter provides faster MRT connection.
