Reasons:
- First bus service to ply one-way road section of Redhill Close'
- Plys Lengkok Bahru, Hoy Fatt Road (and Jalan Tiong) to supplement 63 and 139.
- Provides connection to Redhill MRT station
Express (no bus stops) sectors in red.
63 will be affected though...Many of the residents can either walk to the MRT or take 63 to Tiong Bahru MRT. So having this feeder bus is quite...
Redhill close side is en-bloc flats if i'm not wrong, they still can walk to the main road to take 197,196,147,961 to Outram.

Yes it has excellent frequency during peak/off peak..but I observed that at certain point(perhaps after PM peak) or Weekends, the frequency can be poor.

I think the load issue is also from AMK side. I ever took 169, the bus already pack.. Maybe becoz its a rigid bus... Hmmm... Can you try and improve on the AMK side?

That one really boh pian. The route I suggested is because I once waited more than 30mins for a single 169 at Yishun, and the bus was full. Ended up taking other svces and transfer.
AMK first few stops should be okay, because the opposite frequency is reasonable. There's a need for full day Bendy buses in order to cater to the demand.
Took a downroute bus ytd[Start from the stop b4 Yishun Stn], and the bus was already full when it picked up passengers at Yishun Stn.

Hi mr SBS3688Y, depending on exact destination, people can always hop on to smrt 972 and transfer to other buses. No need for sbs190M. We cannot pamper to each and every one needs. Cheers.

Not anymore. This was situation few months back. After 972 getting major fleet upgrade, 190 getting many DDs, things have changed. You do see the buses still full, but instances of ppl not being able to board has reduced to a great extent. If at all, if cannot board in first bus, can def in 2nd bus.

169 situation still not great. Packed buses in PM from Seneko/Woodlands industrial estate to WRI. Also observed packed buses from Seneko in opposite direction to Yishun. Similarly, loads continue to be pretty heavy between AMK and Springleaf, and Yishun ave 3 to Yishun MRT.
The service still has many pockets where the loading gets terribly high not easily manageable by rigids.
169 need DDs..another way is to have Amdep side control 4-5 duties so can downroute from Amk side

Kind of upsad with the PM Off peak(after 8pm)..they should add more buses..higher capacity buses(bendy, not DD)..

SMRT Service 950A
Route: Woodlands Regional Int - JB Arrival Chkpt (LOOP)
Frequency: 10-18mins

Fleet: DDs/A22s/OCs
Route:
Woodlands Reg Centre
Woodlands Ave 3
Woodlands Centre Road
Woodlands Crossing
Woodlands Checkpt
Causeway - Express
Johor Bahru
JB Arrival Checkpt (twrds JB)
--- BC's Rest Time ---
JB Departure Chkpt (twrds SG)

Woodlands Arrival Chkpt
Woodlands Departure Chkpt (twrds SG)
--- Continues Normal Route ---
>>> DDs can pass through JB's Chkpt, same as SG. I thought of bendies, but saw that JB Departure Chkpt (twrds SG) isn't bendy-friendly. So option left with DDs.
> Supplementary Service for 950, to decrease the waiting time, and faster time crossing chkpts.
> Since most ppl takes services to JB Chkpt (Arrival) and do not continue their journey on any service. (Except 170/170X), it will be great there's a service just linking them to JB Chkpt only.
> Reduces Waiting time for only 950.
> Weekdays AM/PM peak -> transport for Malaysians working in SG to return to MY.
> Sch Holidays, busy period, everyday jam...
> Weekends, you know it.
How do you think?

there are already downroute starting from YMCA.... what they need is to add more buses.. or LTA should let SBST operate part of Sv190 as well... with additional 10-15 DDs.
sv190 have 26 bendies before DD was introduced, right now, it have 21 bendies and 9 DDs (including 3 BSEP DD), so how much capacity that SMRT added to sv190 for the past 6 months? They should have long replaced those rigids with Bendies and DDs and yet those rigids are still running on sv190..

On this I agree that SBST have the capability to handle the load.

I Believe that either those bendy buses are up for retirement, or they deploying it to other high demand svces. Infact, they don't just focus on 1 svc though.
So I rather wait and see instead of letting SBST taking part of 190 first..

Hi mr TIB429E, sorry for being the spoilsport. It is highly unlikely SBST will take over. Cheers.
