Hi guys!
New to the forums and not sure if this is the right place to seek advice from. Currently require some suggestions to travel from Pasir Ris Drive 1 to Singapore Institute Management (Beside Maju Camp)
What I gathered from online the quickest way was to take 53/81 to bustop 64209 then switching to 151.
Wondering if the bus experts here know of any better alternatives then this?

I would suggest you rather take 21 to Eunos Link and transfer to service 154. This will be faster. Also frequency of 154 is very good and at boarding point in Macpherson, you will definitely get a place to sit, whether it is a DD or SD.
The other choice would be to take 89 to Hougang Ave 8 junction, and change to service 74 there. Again frequency, and high capacity buses will ensure a smooth journey for you.
My suggestion would be try out these 2-3 options and then make up your mind, which one is most comfortable for you and faster.
Hi BusAnalayzer!
Thanks but I'm unsure how to quote your post. The bus 21 to 154 sounds really promosing but I checked using the TransitLink eGuide,
for 21, from bus stop to 78059 to Joo Chiat Complex 82049, the estimaed traveling time on TransitLink eGuide is about 64 mins
then from 82049 board 154 to SIM takes another 75 minute according to the estimation which takes it to a total of almost 2 and a half hours, just wondering if it's accurate? Cause if I were to take 53/81 to Defu Lane to switch to 151 it takes about 2 hours or so at the moment
Originally posted by BusAnalayzer:SMB128B, firstly, I would appreciate if you don't use your back up account every single time to comment (all the last 6 posts you have done this).
secondly, plying Sv 83 via Compassalve Crescent, does not exceed commute time more than 2 mins. In fact, suggesting this rather than 371, so that those along Compassalve Crescent also get link to Punggol Road.
For Sv 50, it is the same reasoning. Rather than a new route catering to Rivervale Crescent, have 50 ply this route. Loading between Punggol and Sengkang is quite poor, it only picks up from Sengkang MRT, which should tell you something.
Anyway, both are just suggestions, which have a low likelihood of coming true giving how paranoid LTA is to allow any changes. Just shows when 115 still exists without any changes for so many years.
What the fuck?
This is just like thanking me for killing your son when I did not do it.
Erm well, you're welcome?
And BTW, I've moved out of Sengkang alr. I am a full working adult and have no time to do childish stuff like this.
Duplicate account like seriously?
I mean like, doesn't it occur to you that even our typing styles are like heaven and earth difference?

As I've said, I'm a full working adult.
I have things to do.
I wouldn't have came across your absurd an totally untrue statement had I not see the troll user causing trouble in SG Bus forums again.
Well sorry for so shocking you from your off-guard.

PIE till Woodsville interchange and then take Upper Serangoon Road up to Hougang Ctrl. That's the route I will take.

Is there such a route coming in future? Any announcement.

Yes, good service. Need something like that to connect NEL and Yew Tee/CCK area with express sectors.

You could try taking 58 from the place closest to you to Kaki Bukit (84481)
Change to 5, stopping at Jalan Toa Payoh opp Trellis Twr (52079) where there's both 151/154 available.

Route Suggestion on Service 983/983E:
1) Suggested Service 983 that brings Sembawang/Woodlands residents to Sims Place via the iconic MCE. It also connects the North to the Southern/Eastern part of Singapore with popular places in between.
2) Service 983E (Terminates at Shenton Way Ter) will only operate on morning peak hours from 6.45AM - 6.55AM on weekdays.
No operation on weekends/public holidays.

- East Coast Park

- Haw Par Villa
- Vivocity

Route Suggestion on Short-Working Service 983A:
1) Suggested Service 983A is a short-working service that terminates at Kent Ridge Terminal on special operation timings in the morning.
This service would provide students/lecturers/staffs living around Sembawang and Woodlands to specific schools along the route. It also serves as an alternative route from 184 at Bt. Panjang and will skip certain bus stops along Upper Bt. Timah Rd when using Jln Anak Bukit Flyover.
* Operation timings:

The parent route 983 is too long! It's very slow to go one big round via Clementi and West Coast to reach the CBD area and Mountbatten/Aljunied. Terminating at HBF will do. Sembawang/Woodlands residents can have other dedicated svcs going towards CBD and/or the east.
As for 983E, it would take very long to reach the CBD from Sembawang via the long-winded route. A faster connection between Sembawang/Admiralty and CBD can be made via Sembawang Rd/SLE/CTE. The new city direct service from Sembawang will do the job from Feb onwards.
For 983A, the detour along Upp Bt Timah Rd would slow down the journey for pax travelling from WDL/SBW. I'll prefer the route to go by BKE/PIE and exit at Jln Anak Bukit. 184 can simply be supplemented with SWTs between BPJ and SIM, possibly skipping stops using Anak Bukit flyover, as suggested.

I like the Northeast - Northwest connectivity here, but it would be unnecessary to serve Kranji Ind Est and Khatib/Yishun. For Kranji/Sungei Kadut, localised connections to nearby MRT stations is enough. Perhaps a separate svc can be introduced to directly connect Sungei Kadut and Yew Tee MRT. Khatib/Yishun has 965/85 to Sengkang/Punggol and 171 to BPJ/northwest area.
As for the Yew Tee - Boon Lay stretch, it may be operated as a separate svc to supplement 172 between the CCK area and Boon Lay. I am not in favour of having a Boon Lay-Punggol svc, as the connection can be made by MRT via EWL/CCL/NEL. Such a long bus route would have slower or comparable travel time.
I suggest the following bus route between Choa Chu Kang and Sengkang:
Choa Chu Kang Int [CCK MRT]
Choa Chu Kang Ave 4 [non stop]
Choa Chu Kang Way [new bus stops between CCK North 5 and CCK North 7]
Choa Chu Kang North 7
Choa Chu Kang Dr [Yew Tee MRT]
Choa Chu Kang North 6
Stagmont Ring [non stop]**
Woodlands Road
Senja Way [non stop]
Senja Rd
Bt Panjang Ring Rd
Jelebu Rd [Bukit Panjang MRT/LRT]
Petir Rd [Petir LRT]
Pending Rd [Pending LRT]
Bt Panjang Rd
BKE/SLE/TPE [non stop]
Punggol Way [Soo Teck LRT]
Punggol Ctrl [Punggol MRT]
Punggol Rd
Punggol Dr [Damai LRT, Oasis LRT]
Edgedale Plains [new bus stops]
Punggol Field [Coral Edge LRT]

Sengkang East Dr
Sengkang East Ave [Ranggung LRT]
Compassvale Lane [new bus stops]
Compassvale Walk [new bus stops]
Sengkang Sq [non stop]
Sengkang Int [Sengkang MRT]
**Bus has to make a U-turn along Woodlands Rd in the direction from Yew Tee to Bukit Panjang, unless the traffic junction is modified to allow right-turning from Stagmont Ring to Woodlands Rd.

-Provides direct Northwest - Northeast connection between Yew Tee/Bukit Panjang and Punggol/Sengkang
-Provides bus connections between previously unserved areas and MRT/LRT stations/commercial centres.
1. Connects Mowbray Camp/Kranji Camp II and flats along CCK Way to CCK MRT/Lot 1 and Yew Tee MRT/Yew Tee Point.
2. Connects Greendale Pri/Sec Sch, Horizon Pri Sch and upcoming ECs/flats along Edgedale Plains to Coral Edge LRT/Punggol Plaza and Punggol MRT/upcoming Waterway Point.
3. Connects Sengkang Pri/Sec Sch and flats along Compassvale Lane/Walk to Sengkang MRT/Compass Point.
-Directly connects Yew Tee and Bukit Panjang. Will allow Yew Tee residents to transfer to Downtown Line Stage 2 more easily, when it opens.
-Enhances inter-town connectivity in Sengkang and Punggol.
Some other points:
-I routed this bus service through Punggol and terminating at Sengkang, as Punggol Int is becoming more crowded, while Sengkang Int still has quite a lot of space. With 82 no longer looping at Punggol Rd End, this will be the only service "passing through" Punggol without terminating at the interchange.
-Bus svc can be numbered 152 or 986, depending on the operator. 152 because Sengkang has 156 and 159, and 986 because CCK has 985 (and 982E).
Suggest service using KPE please other than 81,53,72 wich use the Tampines Road part, a service can start from Pasir Ris to West Side using KPE/MCE

I think the route is too winding. A more direct portion is to turn in from KPE to punggol road 1 bus stop then turn right to punggol field 3 bus stop then punggol east 1 bus stop then punggol central 1 bus stop then edgedale plains outside horizon primary school 1 stop then proceed punggol drive oasis and damai lrt 2 stops before going to punggol place and mrt. Skip the sengkang portion. Punggol bus interchange still have enough space for another 2 new bus services. Sengkang bus interchange is going to get real crowded soon with sbs 371 coming up and another 2 probable services when the fernvale and anchorvale flats are coming up this year and next year.

Are you like, dumb?
Punggol int is alr HEAVILY SPAMMED with BSEP. And there are so many new services there! All the lots there are alr under heavy demand, and you still want another TWO svcs there?!
Sengkang will be crowded??? Then tell me how did it deal with 371, 501, 502 and 85/119 all at once in the past.

LOL, Sengkang not really crowded, just that the queues are not allocated very well...
