I was thinking for sv282 to call at all three Ave 4 stops (incl Blk 308) towards both Clementi West St 2 and Clementi Int, but nvm, it would become more confusing for the residents anws.

904's amendment would greatly inconvenience commuters who ride it to the loop point, which is the majority.

Hi mr SBS7557R, precisely you hit the point. That is what SBS 282 and SBS 284 are separate services. Sbs 284 is short but no choice to cater for this. So this point will invalidate your suggestion to combine the 2 services. Cheers. Thanks.

Feeder service should be direct... then 282 should not do ave 5 as well... as west st 2 residents are inconvenienced with a long loop via ave 5 before going to Clementi MRT.
Likewise there are other feeder services whose routes need to be improved to provide direct connectivity including sv 315 that is so long winding to Serangoon North Ave 1, sv 269 that is quite long winding to st 61... I think the reason why some of these routes are planned long winding is to provide some intra town connectivity as well...

I doubt so...
Currently, 904 intervals is lousy compared to 913/964. Commuters often spotted leaving 904 queue to take 913/964 instead before 904 arrive mins later.
Further more, pax. coming from the looping point mostly alight at Adm Stn. If they are travelling to Wdl, they are likely to take 913. There's even empty bus leaving WRI in the morning peak.

Hi mr busanalyser. point not valid. Go through ave 2 (1 stop) and Ave 5 (1 stop) requires 2 stop. Go through commonwealth ave west (after Clementi ave 2) is also 2 stops. Though the former route is slightly longer in distance, the traffic is much lesser than the super crowded commonwealth Ave west. Time will be about 1-2 min longer only. Cheers. Thanks.

If you are travelling to Science Park, the faster way from Clementi would still be via AYE via 198.
If you are travelling to Bukit Merah, the faster way from Clementi would still be via AYE via 197,196,198.
I don't think there is a strong reason to travel to Ghim Moh.

Good suggestion to extend to Clementi.
My suggestion is 92 should be split into two as it has two very distinct loadings.
92 - Buona Vista Terminal loop @ Clementi Ave 3 / Clementi MRT
202 - Ghim Moh Terminal loop @ Science Park Dr

Then 92 will be skipping Buona Vista MRT (bus stops along North Buona Vista Rd) which may bring inconvenience to passengers. I think 92 should just stay what it is or at most extend to Clementi etc, no need to split just because of different loading patterns

The reasons why the routes of 269, 282 and 315 are slightly longer than usual are due to their historical mergers with other feeders.
sv282 originally looped at Ave 5, while sv287 plied a much faster route via C'wealth Ave West. sv287 was later merged into the existing sv282.
Likewise for sv315, it originally took a more direct route to S'goon North Ave 1 via Yio Chu Kang Rd. However, SBS later merged it with sv318 to ply S'goon Gdns.
As for sv269, it took over part of former sv266's route along Ave 3 & 4, as part of SBST's efforts to reduce the number of feeders in AMK. You may argue that there's sv76/sv268 within walking distance, but the less mobile will probably find a direct route from the bus int more beneficial.
The point is that such historical mergers that SBS made were probably mistakes in their route planning. For instance, sv287 could have well been retained and sv282 should have been axed with sv74 plying Ave 2 (later became sv156) and sv7 plying Ave 5, while sv318 could have been taken over by a trunk service. I can't really suggest a much faster route that sv269 can take other than its old route to St 61, while amending either sv76/sv268 to call in the bus int in both directions like sv265 to reduce inconvenience.
However, it doesn't make sense to reinstate bus services of the olden days just for a much faster connection for 269/282/315. Thus, other arrangements could be made with some existing trunks to ply the winding roads that these feeders have to serve.
