Bus Observations (2014)

An SMRT bus, service number 190, broke down along the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) at the entrance of Bukit Panjang Road Thursday, Feb 6, 2014, morning.
The breakdown caused a long line of buses behind the broken down vehicle and brought morning rush hour traffic to a standstill.
According to a report on The Straits Times, commuters could be seen alighting from stationary buses and walking away.
Stomp contributors Simon, Dion, Vincent and Jeslin sent in pictures of the incident.
Simon commented on the scene:
"Traffic has been at a standstill in Bt Panjang going towards BKE .
"The line of buses is longer than the MRT train."

SMRT got about 10 staff at the bus stop before BKE. Just let the buses jammed there for 2 hours. Incredible management.. Thumb up.

TIB578H (WLDEP 854) - rear right engine cover taken from Hispano MK 2 bendy, been there since a month or two ago... TIB549S and TIB587G also have it, but since long ago...
TIB606K (KJDEP 176) - found with older Batch 1 aircon controller, with only 2 digits...
TIB734Z (KJDEP 927) - on 927TQ1 yesterday... 'DOOR CLOSING' sign and chime turn on without blinking (TIB544E and TIB547Y style), but normal bulbs, unlike LEDs on TIB544E...
TIB795Y (KJDEP SP) - front doors give an 'air nozzle' sound when opening...
TIB864G (WLDEP 176) - side EDS still missing, with 176 rear desto below... Engine turbocharger gives super loud whining sound when accelerating... All three door mechanisms very loud when opening and closing... Aircon controller showed 6.9'C ~ 8.3'C!

SMB3081G (KJ972) with rear 972 desto at the side.
TIB746P bus stopping sign got problem. Light will go off when rear door opens but once the rear door is shut, the bus stopping light will light up itself, and will continue until the next time rear door is open.

Hmm... seem like still no bus replacing this 2657 on sv 159 yet now only can see different SP DM buses rotating doing on this svc only.

TIB958U exterior CCTVs removed and covered up with a patch, not sure about the interior ones.

* SMB3067Z has very smooth and quite engine. The suspensions are as good as new.
It's acceleration is almost like SMB138Y and achieved 65km/h along Woodlands Rd.
It is also much stable than the other MAN A22s, like Citaros, while travelling on bumpy roads. By far, the best MAN A22 to ride on...

243W serious bus bunching today at around 4.45pm at bus stop opposite Westwood Primary School. SBS3114L >> SBS3120T >> SBS8064P >> SBS3115J was the sequence and they just arrived bus stop back to back, with SBS7396M on 181 in between SBS3114L and SBS3120T.
