On Sunday, 15 Mar 2015, I took sv 122 from New Bridge Rd to Commonwealth MRT. I can't remember most of the details, but here are some general observation:
- Interestingly, the peak loading was before Tiong Bahru MRT. At least 10 pax boarded at one bus stop along Tiong Bahru Rd, and before the bus reached MRT it already had 20+ pax on board. Seems that other services had not called for a long time. Only 1 pax boarded at Tiong Bahru MRT but most of the pax onboard alighted here, and in the rest of the journey the bus never had more than 12 pax onboard.
- I saw some new flats/condos under construction along Alexandra Rd where there are not so many services, so I guess one of the reasons why sv 122 plies Tiong Bahru MRT instead of Redhill is to connect this sector of Alexandra Rd to Tiong Bahru MRT, shopping malls etc. (If not they could easily divert 122 to Redhill)
- Some people were waiting along Kay Siang Rd in the opposite direction (towards NBR). As for the direction towards Commonwealth, no boarding or alighting.
- Quite a lot of people boarded 122 towards Commonwealth along Margaret Dr, most of them asking BC if this bus goes to MRT. However, I'm not sure if they will still take 122 if they know that it does a big loop at Commonwealth Dr before reaching Commonwealth MRT. There were some boarding at Commonwealth Dr, and I assume they are heading towards MRT only (if not they would wait for 195).
850E and 951E packed AM buses.
Observed at 08.15am at Dhoby Ghaut MRT on 16/Mar.
Pictures below.
951E followed by 850E. 951E has lower deck standees and upper deck fully seated. Must be around 95-100 pax easily on this bus 3524X.
850E packed to door with lower deck standees till door. Must have 110 pax onboard this bus 3512E.
8.21 - there was 3078 that followed on 850E with full standees (though not packed to door); must be betweent around 60 pax.

Bro what do you think if there is a need for parent trunk 850 Sembawang-Shenton Way and 951 Woodlands-Shenton Way?

I feel should introduce uni-directional like 981.
850E/951E AM to CBD: 06.30 to 9.30
850E/951E PM back: 16.30 to 20.30
All these buses will run on S-shift.
6.30am bus after dropping to Shenton Way goes back via CTE for next trip. Try 2 get two AM and two PM trips per bus.
I am saying this because the return journey for these services will not have any takers in off-peak direction.
Great suggestion also but i feel these 2 service need to start from Interchange instead

951E 0715,0725,0735,0745,0755 & 0810 for Am peak
1720,1730,1740,1750,1805 & 1820 for Pm peak

* My first loading experience on sv 140 was pretty good.
* Peak loading to St Georges = 43pax, towards Lor 1 = 51 pax.
* Also very high turnover of pax at almost every stop
* Need more unique routes like this one even if it is a short haul trunk
* 140 doing better than 141 even if the latter was introduced 2 years back

Youre lucky, most of the times i observe is only 35 pax the most

observation was very interesting. Yes, I did not expect that many people as well. My observation also has been 35-40 pax but still feel it is very good given it is a short route and many take it for few stops only. So lot of turnover.
A lot of people boarded along Bendemeer road to alight at Boon Keng MRT stop. Many people from Bendemeer road stop went all along and alighted at MOM stop back on Bendemeer road as well. There were good number of pax who boarded at Geylang Bahru and alighted at Kallang MRT stop.
With the new BTOs coming up along St Georges, can expect loading to be better.

Might get a split duty sooner..141 loadings still poor despite its unique routings..
64 loadings was quite poor compared to previous years..The only full seated DDs i saw is during PM peak..

64 loading has reduced quite a bit between Orchard and Queenstown. But loading still remains very high between Dhoby Ghaut and Macpherson during peak hours. That's where the DDs come in handy. If 66 gets a few DDs, 64 does not need DDs anymore.

most ppl are using it to the other direction (bendermeer to serangoon, and serangoon to bendemeer) to transfer to other buses, instead of walking..... same as sv23 when ppl board at Jalan besar and alight at KK market...
anyway, last night at around 920pm, spotted a sv116 citaro at Amk Ave 3 (before it turn into serangoon north) with full seating paxs and around 10 standees...
Observed sv 107 on two evenings.. loading has increased quite a bit between Beach road and Bendemeer. The bus I took on Wed had 82 pax peak loading at Kallang Industrial. The bus I took on Thu had 96 pax peak loading at Kallang Industrial (again). Both times I alighted at Potong Pasir MRT, where pax were 42 and 48 pax respectively.
aft introduce bsep overal load gone down for sbs service. i see in bedok, tamp area bus during peak hour crowd heavy but most people board easy. gone day of long wait time. now sv 8 also get place on upper deck to sit.
A bit late in posting loading... but here it is for Tuesday 17/Mar for sv 52, 55 and 410W at Bishan Interchange
6.34 - 3443L - 43p (410W)
6.35 - 3074T - 09p (52)
6.40 - 3658J - 93p (55)
6.41 - 8755D - 68p (410W) around 25-30 pax in queue
6.46 - 7719R - 122p (410W)
6.49 - 3369T - 51p (52)
6.51 - 8482R - 67p (410W)
6.56 - 3265J - 56p (55)
6.56 - 7515L - 82p (410W)
7.00 - 5169R - 66p (410W)
7.01 - 3367Z - 23p (52)
7.04 - 3285B - 54p (410W) I boarded this bus
Bold is DDs
The current fleet of buses on 410W seems okay. Don't think need anymore fleet add or upgrade required now.
Loading on 410W at 07.04pm from Bishan Interchange (DD)
Bishan Interchange - 54p
Bishan St 13 - 59p (0/5)
Bishan St 22 - 59 (-2/2), 40 (-28/8) *note that half the bus alighted here (where 13A operates in AM), 39 (-6/5)
Sing Ming -- 42 (0/3), 38 (-6/2), 31 (-12/5), 35 (-2/6), 36 (-2/3)
Upper Thomson Rd -- 34 (-7/5), 28 (-10/4) I alighted here...
* From what I noticed even though a lot of people board at interchange, majority alight along st 22... and not really along Sing Ming
* I would have thought people would board along stop at Bishan road where you have 13, 52, 54, 88 to go to st 22
* DDs have been added to this service as people along st 22 board 410W and hence, people wanting to go to Sing Ming earlier had longer waiting time
* This also explains why 410G does not have DDs... and people along Sing Ming can easily board and along st 22 have so many different options to get to MRT

Sin Ming residents prefer to board at interchange where there's 410 and 52, rather than at Bishan Rd where there's 52 only. For St 22 residents, most ppl at Circle Line MRT exit or Junction 8 will prefer to board at interchange, and would only cross the overhead bridge and board at Bishan Rd if they're at North South Line MRT exit or at J8 closer to Bishan Rd.
Also, pax at St 22 have various svcs heading to Bishan MRT/Int, and mostly prefer to take 13, 52, 54 or 88 to Bishan MRT which is faster and more direct than taking 410G to Bishan Int.
This is why 410W has higher demand than 410G, since pax from Bishan Int to St 22 is greater than pax from St 22 to Bishan Int.
i on friday take 990 to bukit batok and 852 to yishun and 39 to tampines. i note all loading. i know i did bad by miss my last class but i hate the teacher. i learn better than watshe teach.
okay so here my loading on 990
jurong gateway rd (05, 05) > imm (15) > toh guan (22) > jurong east central (24) > bbt av 1 (22) > bbt east av 6 (16) > bbt east av 3 (17)
highest load of 24 peop. still few peop take 990 from jurong east mrt. expect more. i opinion many peop transfer frm 52, 105, 183 to this sv along toh guan
i take 852 from bukit batok. wait for 17 min then bus.
bukit batok (16) > bbt east av 3 (25) > bbt east av 6 (22) > old juromg rd (22) > upp bukit timah (24) > anak bukit (19) > bukit timah (37) > adam (36) > lornie (36) > macritchie (28) > marymount (36) > amk av 6 (35 bef amk av 3, 36 bef yck rd) > lentor (29) > khatib (31) > bef yis temp int (24)
highest load of 37peop. wen u read the peop in bracket is highest peop observe on particular load. 74 ahead and behind. peop prefer go front and back but not take 852. 852 ever have place for peop to sit.but peop not interest. may got to do with poor frequency. very comfortabe journey.
useful to you? all u talk about 852 so i took.
