Ave 11 - 19 pax
Ave 6 - 28, 34, 41
Ring Road - 51, 60, 70 (stop before ave 11. I got down here as I had to go for my breakfast meeting in Yishun)
So 3rd stop on Ring road bus already had 70 pax. If MANA22, no chance anyone can board... but for E500 pax on remaining stops should have been able to board, unless yours is last stop before express to city.
Sorry reply late. I board the bus at the 2nd last stop before gg express. Means Blk 858 Yishun Ring Road Bus Stop.

Even I dun understand 860 also very packed. The load also good. Looks like ppl prefer taking 860 to Khatib instead of taking 806 to Yishun

386 loading v interesting... 0 pax (so you don't count yourself right!?!)
By the way, 324 has similar loadings.. leaves interchange with 13-15 pax during PM peak for some buses. I wonder what it must be in afternoon and post 8pm. Ever see empty buses on 324.

I would have expected that slot to have DD already... B'coz DD is not needed for Tampines - Pasir Ris stretch but needed for Pasir Ris - Yishun instead. So if you had waited maybe 1 bus more, next could have been a DD.
85 loading does not surprise me.

Yes you are right. More so after Yishun temp interchange coz it is far from MRT. So definitely people prefer 860 to Khatib now. Hence, those 13 buses and 860A. 806 anyway was bursting beyond its means as well. So now gets more relief in its loading. 803 also doing quite okay.

Yeah intro of 860A relief the load. Understand the rational.. But PM peak still quite crowded... Should Have it bi-directional

Yeah. 85's load is progressing well. Quite a few times I boarded it by the time reach fernvale/jalan kayu packed alr. Maybe one or two DDs can lah. No need so many.

For 29 pax peak loading you want DDs? Really!!?!?!!?! The one you might have boarded might be delayed by 30 mins or something.

there might be downroute trips for PM peak... they usually dun announce for downroute trips.. just like sv269... 269A operate during pm/evening, but in the am also got lots of downroute trips which are unannounced....

Theyre packed because the freq sucks..
Haha. News have come out that sbs 85 will be getting double decker buses. Yeah 1 more Punggol service to have DDs. This must be mainly due to increasing population in sengkang west area which heightened the need for DDs. In a way, it helps to alleviate the fact that sengkang west has too few bus services. Sbs 85 has finally seen its heydays that there are not enough loading. By the way, when is sbs 3 turn to have DDs? Cheers.
Loading on svc 101 (SBS6868A) from Serangoon Int to Hougang Ctrl Int at 5.28pm
Serangoon Int - 24
Upp Serangoon Rd - [+2] 26, [+1] 27, [-3] 24, [-2+2] 24, [-1+11] 34 (Kovan MRT), [+2] 36, [-10] 26, [+1] 27, [-2] 25
Hougang Ctrl - [-4+20] 41 (Hougang Ctrl Int) (I alighted here)
- Kind of surprised that many board at Serangoon, not Hougang... Maybe they transferred from CCL
All those who think svc 85 has no loading, THINK TWICE.
Loading on svc 85 (SBS2760C) from Punggol to Yishun at 6.15pm (seems late by 8 minutes)
Punggol Temp Int - 18 (Svc 3 just left 1 min earlier)
Punggol Ctrl - [-1] 17, [+5] 22, [-5+3] 20, [-1+6] 25
(Note that at least 11 pax who board from interchange have not alighted yet)

Sengkang East Rd - [-2+17] 57 (BC had to tell people to move in)
Sengkang East Way - [+2] 59, [-5?+3] 57, [+2] 59
Sengkang West Way - [-1+5] 63 (KUB in opposite direction had 10 standees), [-6?+6?] 63 (totally lost count, actual pax onboard may be slightly smaller but not much difference), [-4?+5?] 64
Jln Kayu - [-2+3] 65, [-1+3] 67 (Citaro in opposite direction had around 15 standees)
Lentor Ave - 67 all the way
Yishun Ave 2 - 67, [-26?+2] 43 (Khatib MRT), [-1+1] 43, [-12] 31, [-3] 28 (Yishun MRT)
Yishun Temp Int - [-28] 0
(Surprised to see so many pax at interchange... Transferring to feeders?)
- Yes, svc 85 has loading.
- I say the bus may be 8 minutes late, because the tv in interchange first showed next bus was 6.07pm, but the bus only arrived at 6.15pm. But I didn't see the subsequent bus even after a long time, so it may not be late, just that the timings shown on tv are inaccurate
- Some of those who boarded at Punggol East alighted at Rivervale and Compassvale, but not many
- Suspect that most of the pax who boarded at Sengkang East Rd alighted at Fernvale, but some may have travelled all the way to Yishun
- I lost count at Sengkang West Way because I was unable to see the number of pax boarding/alighting. General pattern at Sengkang West Way is that, at each stop, around 5-6 pax will alight and 4-5 will board, the numbers are very close; at Jln Kayu, 1-2 pax alight at each stop while 3-4 board
- Still, most pax on 85 travel (from Sengkang or even Punggol) to Yishun/Khatib; some use it as an intra-town service within Sengkang, some use it as a feeder to Sengkang West Way
- I believe svc 85 has potential as people seem to prefer svc 85 as a point-to-point service to Yishun (especially Sengkang West residents) instead of 965. Thus loading may increase if frequency is boosted
- Although somehow packed, no need for DDs for now. But it's not a service with only 20 pax during peak hours!

Hi mr array88, yes this is true.
Sbs 85 loading is mainly due to few factors.
---lower frequency than other services thus accumulated many people on 1 bus.
---peak hour especially high crowds.
---crowds from Punggol east/Sengkang east/sengkang west
---blooming number of HDB flats in sengkang west area
---only 1 bus service at sengkang west way (sbs 85) not counting other nearby roads
---fastest way from sengkang east/west area to khatib/yishun.
---at present, LTA still not introducing new bus services to sengkang west way, thinking changing some single deck to double deck for SBS 85 will help.
---foresee new service will go to sengkang west very soon.
Cheers. Thanks.
Loading on sv 324 @ 07.40am from HCI
Hougang Interchange -- 04
Upper Serangoon Road -- 07 (0/3), 04 (-3/0)
Upper Serangoon Crescent -- 20 (-4/20) seemed more like workers and one maid
Upper Serangon View -- 20 (0/0)
Upper Serangoon Road -- 17 (-3/0), 14 (-3/0) there was a 147 DD right ahead
** Basically service had 20 pax peak on bus.
** How about you have 102 that starts from HCI do Upper Serangoon Crescent in both directions. The stop at View is quite misplaced. Not one person boarded or alighted. This way 324 can be removed and 102 can replace and be more useful
** Observation on Upper Serangoon road (stop where 62/136 calls) had at least 15-20 pax waiting for bus
Loading on sv 112 @ 08.05am from HCI
Hougang Interchange -- 14
Upper Serangoon Rd -- 16 (0/2), 12 (0/-4)
Hougang Ave 7 -- 14 (-4/6), 19 (-6/11), 30 (0/11), 40 (-1/11) ... very interesting every stop 11 pax board.. ha ha
Tampines Rd -- 37 (-6/3), 39 (-3/5)
Hougang St 21 -- 48 (0/9), 46 (-4/2)
Kovan MRT -- 34 (-37/25) I alighted at next stop and walked back to Kovan MRT
** Significant number of people choose to take 112 to Kovan instead of Hougang (also noticed some people crossing road once saw bus coming in direction of Kovan)
** Quite good loading but expected it to be higher considering it is only service for HG Ave 7 residents (except 51/87 that calls one stop on HG 7)
