With 16 buses from the extension i dont see why 103 need DDs for now? Most probably they got too many DDs to play with..85 also another issue,Can add a Citaro for peak hour but instead cut 2-1 ration for the DDs
Its like necessity overpowering necessary..
103 main loading is at night from Serangoon to Yio Chu Kang Road, where buses can be packed.

Load will spike...
Coz before, there are no buses from KTPH to Yishun MRT... And the shuttle takes ages to come, and its a 20 seater sprinter...
Even for MRT to KTPH, only 812 which is i) confusing for non-residents, ii) troublesome (esp during undesirable weather conditions) coz need cross road to KTPH and must walk to int, and iii) non-WAB
Good move to pass by the main entrance of KTPH, with a bit of word passing 103 sure will become very popular within Yishun itself
Now not only got more alternative to go KTPH, it also utilises the under-utilised KTPH stop (used to be a stop only for midnight svc)
Some residents from NE also benefit with direct access to KTPH!

There has to be a sv 70 right in front for no one to board along YCK Road (only 2 pax) until AMK Ave 3, where the bus normally is packed. Quite unusual. For the Yishun bound, I think people need more time to get familiar with the service and build confidence that the bus will come in time. sv 806 has 02-03 min frequency, 103 frequency is still unknown. But I do expect the loading to increase.

9532 was probably downgraded to SD the day you took the observations.

No surprise...
969 express sector is painfully long, you dont find seat your leg will jelly...
Thats why many MAN depart Tamp without standees, and ppl just wait for the next bus since the next bus comes <8 mins anw
Enviros equals more seats, so can carry more ppl, and plus ppl will definitely move up coz got seats, and its worth the effort to move up...
And also coz sitting upstairs while plying express got nice scenery to see and also more natural light

Straightaway throw 969 to WL la, pass 858 to AM
My suggestion is should introduce sv 958 that does Woodlands Interchange to Punggol Interchange. Same route as 858 with DDs and turns in at Punggol road, Punggol Field, Punggol Way, Punggol Central to Punggol Interchange.
858 then can be Changi service from Woodlands that can skip certain sectors and stops. For instance 858 can go directly to Sembawang via Admiralty instead of doing ave 9... and can skip stops along Lentor Ave.

Don't use TPE again...
Go by Seletar also very fast
What 858 really needs is its Jln Kayu stop to be scrapped...
858 has catchment along Ave 4 n 9 leh, U cant depend on 169 n 964 alone on Ave 9. That part cannot skip, Gambas Ave also have 858 on the upper part only
Introduce 878 from Sembawang to Airport passingby Seletar airport,Jln Kayu,TPE and 858 can skip Jalan Kayu for good.
858 can transfer 4 duties to Amdep and this 878 can start with 14 buses shared between Wldep/Amdep or from Bt Panjang-Airport share between Kjdep/Amdep

Maybe you should read properly. I have proposed route 958 between Woodlands and Punggol to copy current 858 route till it takes turn on Punggol road. When you do that, you can then make 858 express and it does not need to do ave 4, 9 etc. Also 958 will have majority high capacity buses.

Actually 969 should also fleet add more SDs, running at abit higher frequency. Bendy can give out to feeders since the pax wants the seats.
1 DD > 2 SDs > 1 DD within 20mins.
858, 27 etc. would be better if CGA allows DD. Then, SMRT should put A95s into 858 fleet, with luggage rack. And deploy some OCs also. These A95s should only be fixed to Airport routes. (A95 have slightly more seats than usual DD).
