There's a lot of construction going on for Tampines North New Town along Tamp Ave 9.
Funny how the three services plying there all have HUGE loadings (27/72/168).
The area definitely needs new services come 2019.

I think the new ITH will be like Joo Koon type,9 service max but i was hoping that LTA plan at least 25 parking lots.Good if svc 8 & 18 to start there alongside 4 new service for a start. Can use 68 & 71 numbers too.Bidadari & Tengah new town also coming in future.Bidadari can use 14x series while Tengah probably need new numberings or can continue using 20x series after Kent Ridge.Upp East Coast Expansion and Changi Business Park can use 44,46,47 alongside a new service,Most probably 42 & 48 might start from either of these terminals.

Yes ofcourse there will be new services. That's why Tampines North Interchange is being built. I also suspect some Tampines interchange services to be extended to Tampines North.
27/72/168 already have huge loading. By then you can expect a route complementing 27 and feeder to Tampines MRT.
Today rode 1113J 851 at arnd 1935h from clarke quay > marymount.. front bus arnd 10 mins away
but loading was rather little, with the maximum at marymount station, which was only 4 standees (even with quite a few empty seats)
Is 851 loading always like that? May be reason why it has not got upgrades recently

Definitely not. The peak has already passed when you take bus at 19.35 from Clarke Quay. 851 buses leaving BMR Interchange between 17.00 and 18.30 hours are packed on its route, especially the 17.45-19.00 slot at Bugis/Little India side. That's where the high capacity buses are needed and are not enough.
Svc185 have high loading level during 5+pm? Board 1 KUB with pax unable to board, am the last pax though.. Towards SLBP.
SBST Feeder services with DDs - only PM observations
222: full upper deck between Chai Chee and Bedok (+90 pax) and Bedok and Bedok North Road (+90 pax)
225G: 75% full upper deck while leaving interchange (+90 pax)
225W: 75% full upper deck while leaving interchange (+90 pax)
240: loading around 60 pax betwen Boon Lay and Boon Lay Place, 60 pax between Boon Lay Place and Lakeside, 50 pax between Lakeside and Taman Jurong, 60 pax between Taman Jurong to Lakeside, 60-70 pax between Lakeside and Boon Lay Place, 60-70 pax between Boon Lay Place and Boon Lay... my observation in PM is that the bus does not always have more than 70 pax but if a bus is late, will have. Also, coz it is DD, helps clear load fast especially at Boon Lay Place and Lakeside MRT stops as pax easily board and alight
241: +70 pax at Boon Lay, +100 pax at Pioneer
242: 60-80 pax loading during peak; subject to 199 arrival as well.
243G: +80 pax on most buses
243W: +80 pax on most buses
285: 40-50 pax between Clementi and West Coast, return journey have 80-90 pax from Pandan Industrial and towards +100 pax at West Coast (depending on sv 78 calling stops along West Coast)
334: consistent +90 pax loading at JE Interchange
410W: around 70-80 pax at Bishan Interchange, post Bishan st 22, loading will hover around 30-50 pax until back to interchange.

Pity Amdep Townlinks dont have DDs,Can deploy during peak hours,Buses like sardine.315 can manage with SDs.291 & 293 also packed but also notorious for bunching given their fleet numbers

Oh yes!! I forgot 291/293 in my analysis.
315 okay now because added buses like crazy.

Amdep actually can trial a few DDs for 265 & 268.
Originally posted by carbikebus:Amdep actually can trial a few DDs for 265 & 268.
Few months back there was rumor that DDs will be deployed on 265 and 268... also 269 and 138... but none of these 4 services got DDs...
wonder why!!! AMDEP deployers quite resistant to give feeders DDs unlike other depots. It really does not make sense given the number of SD buses they have added to 261, 265, 269... if few DDs would have been added job would have been done.
Stupid logic
Below is the link to Woodlands Regional Centre Future Development Programme which I believe last time already sparked some concerns about the 2nd Interchange in Woodlands. Well, an Integrated Transport Hub will be shown at 2.10 min in the video. Take your time to look through the 3D plan for Woodlands.
SBS3267 on 185
Bus arr Dover Stn TO SLBP; Upper Deck almost full(close to 40 pax), but all the pax didn't bother to head up to the upper deck and BC need to ask them to. Lower Deck also quite packed already.

Usually 185 gets full at Clementi... at Dover still quite few seats available...
smthng wrong if 85 get 4 dd and 39 also get 4 dd. when 39 load much high than 85

85 just to wayang to the MP..
Please don't be surprised by what I'm gonna post.
On Friday, 3rd July 2015, I was at Yio Chu Kang Rd (first stop after YCK Link towards AMK/Hougang) from 1745 hrs to around 1800 hrs. I took note of loading on some buses, although I didn't take note of the time:
43M DD: upper deck full, lower deck at least 12 standees
43 DD: average 5-8 standees on lower deck, upper deck full (even when only 2 mins after 43M)
147 DD: average 7-10 standees on lower deck, upper deck full
103: average 1-2 standees
109 SD: average 5-10 standees (some buses are quite packed)
116: 80% seated (exclusive of the bus I took, which is elaborated below)
156: average 2-5 standees (some buses are quite packed)
Then I took 116 to Hougang Ctrl Int, which reached AMK Ave 3 at 1805 hrs. General loading:
Before Serangoon North: 3-5 standees, seats full
Serangoon North: first stop 80% alighted, 6-7 boarded, 15-20 pax onboard; second bus stop few alighted/boarded
Hougang 1 Mall: around 15 pax alighted, 5 boarded, less than 10 pax onboard
After Hougang 1 Mall: 1-2 pax alight at every bus stop, 0 pax when reaching interchange
Loading of 116 buses in opposite direction along the way:
Before AMK Ave 3: opposite bus 5-10 standees
Before Hougang Ave 1: opposite bus 6-7 pax onboard
Before Hougang Ctrl Int: opposite bus 3-5 standees
Miscellaneous:
- At 1824 hrs, 324 reached interchange with at least 10 standees
- At 1827, 116 departed interchange with 4 standees
- At 1837, 324 departed fully seated
- At 1840, 116 departed with 39 pax
I can say 116 is at least not a waste of resources... Loading is growing and is better than 20 pax last time. And who says Serangoon North residents are not taking 116?
IMO, loading pattern on 116 during PM is: Serangoon -> Serangoon North, Hougang -> Hougang Ave 4/9, Serangoon North -> Serangoon
Svc 324's loading is also growing... I was totally surprised when I saw the bus with 10 standees. Both 116 and 324 can also form long queues at HCI already (not mentioning those who sit on the stairs nearby waiting for buses). Maybe it's because their berths are closer to MRT Exit A.
Loading on svc 151 (SBS 6820L) from HCI at 1844 hrs, on Friday, 3rd July 2015
Hougang Ctrl Int - 15
Hougang Ave 5 - [-4] 11
Hougang Ave 7 - 11
Tampines Rd - [-1+4] 14
Hougang Ave 3 - [+1] 15, [-2] 13, [-2+3] 14, [-2+1] 13, 13, [-1+1] 13, 13
Airport Rd - [-1+11] 23, [+10] 33
(Time check: 1907 hrs)
MacPherson Rd - [-5+13] 41, [-1+10] 50, [-2+1] 49, [-14] 35, [-2] 33, [-6+4] 31
Jln Toa Payoh - [-7+1] 25, [-6] 19, [-6+4] 17
Whitley Rd - [+1] 18, 18, [-7+1] 12
Bt Timah Rd - [-1+3] 14, [-1] 13, [-3+17] 27 (Botanic Gardens MRT), 27, [-5] 22, 22, [+5] 27, [-3] 24 (I alighted here)
- Very interesting observation along Airport Rd and MacPherson Rd:
1) Before Aljunied Rd, every stop had 10+ pax boarding, and few pax are waiting for other services
2) The first stop after Aljunied Rd, 14 pax alighted
3) For the rest of MacPherson Rd, every stop had 40+ pax waiting, but few took 151
My guess is that many of these ppl working at MacPherson Rd/Airport Rd area are heading towards Serangoon Rd/Little India etc... Hence so many pax waiting for/transferring to svc 61/64/65/66. Those at Airport Rd/before Aljunied Rd have no choice but to wait for any service there and transfer to 61/64/65/66.
These days a lot of people in this forum are speculating svc 65/66 etc will be amended or withdrawn due to DTL or whatever... Even if these services are amended, the link between MacPherson Rd and Serangoon Rd/Bendemeer Rd needs to be maintained. Maybe 66 can be amended via MacPherson Rd, Airport Rd, Eunor Link to Bedok Reservoir Rd to reduce duplication with DTL and provide a more direct service for Airport Rd workers.
(Just my two cents worth)

Ok will do.
Today passed by Hougang st 21
saw 2 113 buses at about 7.20pm with the front bus packed till front door while second bus 113A has about 50 pax. 1st bus didnt stop at hougang st 21 fc even though there is space for a few to board but stopped at blk 210 and got full. Hougang st 21 fc had about 20 pax waiting and boarded 113A
112 had about 30 pax while 119 DD had about 9 pax

Loading on sv 156 today morning @ 07.50am from Sengkang Interchange
Sengkang Interchange -- 23
Sengkang East Way -- 31 (0/8)
Sengkang East Rd -- 41 (0/10), 38 (-10/7), 36 (-4/2)
Buangkok Green -- 35 (-7/6), 33 (-9/7), 35 (-1/3), 43 (-6/14)
YCK Rd -- 45 (-5/7), 47 (-3/5) bef AMK Ave 3 junction, 48 (-3/4), 46 (-4/2), 45 (-4/3), 46 (-1/2), 46 (0/0)
YCK Link -- 44 (-7/5)
Boundary Rd -- 51 (-5/12), 52 (-5/7)
Lor Chuan -- 53 (-3/4)
AMK Ave 1 -- 58 (0/5), 59 (-1/2) peak loading (59 pax)
Bishan Rd -- 59 (0/0), 58 (-4/3), 50 (-17/9) Bishan MRT, 50 (-1/1)
Bradell Rd -- 48 (-4/2), 45 (-7/4)
Macritchie Reservoir -- 39 (-8/2)
Thomson Rd -- 38 (-3/2), 36 (-2/0), 34 (-2/0), 33 (-1/0) this was until where 156A used to ply. Given that loading on 156 has dropped, no wonder service was withdrawn.
Whitley Rd -- 34 (0/1), 33 (-1/0), 30 (-7/4)
Dunearn Rd -- 31 (-3/2), 26 (-5/0), 28 (-3/5) Botanic Gardens MRT (I alighted here as AM peak was already over by the time I reached here, so don't expect loading to spike).
>> The loading for the route is quite balanced, hovering around 35-50 pax during its route during the AM peak timing.
>> Checking Transport.sg app, next 156 bus was 12 mins later... and previous 156 bus was also with gap of 12 mins... no traffic encountered anywhere along its route... that's why looks like buses were evely spaced.
>> I think between Sengkang and YCK road due to 43/43M enhanced capacity, loading on 156 has dropped (earlier I remember bus would be packed to door in this sector)
>> Current # of buses is okay. No DDs needed. No fleet add needed.

** No sv190/sv972 were in front or behind sv700 throughout the ride, giving sv700 priority over the other 2 BPJ-city routes and proving the objectivity of the loading
** Bunched minimally w/ another sv700 A22 between Bt Timah Rd & BKE/PIE; bunching stopped after BKE/PIE
** While sv700 only hit peak loading at Newton MRT, the bulk of the loads come from the Orchard and Shenton Way areas (40+ pax) compared to the 20+ pax which boarded at Newton later.
** The upcoming DTL 2's impact on sv700 should be minimal, affecting largely the crowds from Newton MRT, unless pax wish to transfer to NSL.

sv 700's main impact has already been with sv 972.
