Passengers MAY be an issue if 269 gets DDs...but can trial since 269 have 2-axle DD before..
But for now, I rather the service to continue fleet add. Or run more 269A.
Observations at CCK Interchange
sv 983 was running with 5 buses yesterday (2 BSEP e500s, 1 BSEP MAN, 2 SMRT MAN).
sv 301 was running with 5 buses as well (4 BSEP MANs, 1 non-BSEP MAN)
983
17.55 - 46 pax (SD)
17.59 - 36 pax (SD)
18.06 - 44 pax (SD)
18.11 - 32 pax (DD)
18.19 - 68 pax (DD)
18.24 - 56 pax (SD)
18.29 - 54 pax (SD)
18.44 - 104 pax (DD) somehow the DD came before the SD
18.46 - 69 pax (SD) 5-6 pax in queue
18.52 - 87 pax (DD)
18.57 - 71 pax (SD) 11 pax in queue
19.04 - 68 pax (SD) 8-10 pax in queue
19.09 - 112 pax (DD) again some how DD came before SD
19.14 - 69 pax (SD) 1 pax in queue
19.24 - 104 pax (DD) 7 pax in queue
19.29 - 70 pax (SD) 15 pax in queue
19.34 - 68 pax (SD) more than 20 pax in queue
19.41 - 108 pax (DD) 2 pax in queue
** From 18.30 to 19.45 when I observed this service... each and every bus left the berth with a full capacity with some left over in queue
** Suspect 983 has one stand by bus as there were 3 SDs
** Looking at the loading, expect 983 to get 1 S shift DD added to its fleet
** Frequency is very good at 05 minutes
** Upper deck well utilized and DDs easily taking more than +100 pax
** With DTL2 opening, can expect loading to get heavier. It can become full fleet DD at that stage.
301
Almost every bus before 18.30 hours left with around 15-25 pax on board (not more)
Almost every bus between 18.30 and 19.45 hours left with 55-70 pax on board (at times few pax were left behind)
sv 301 doing very well compared to prior reports
300
Full fleet bendy. Queue continues to be super long. I think almost every bus must be leaving full capacity though did not count as it is another berth.
PM Peak at CCK
It is a chaos.. so many buses.. so much traffic jam.
In spite of having 3 services 300, 301 and 983... queues continue to be long and heavy loading.
Prime PM peak is between 18.30 and 20.00 hours at CCK according to me.
I suspect soon 983 will get more DDs as 301 can only get SD fleet add. Also observed flats at Keat Hong Close still need some time to get completed.
Once 983 get extended to BPJ i am sure its 70% DD fleet

Now with 4th bus... can expect bunching to be a common scenario.
Seriously crazy,For suchs short distance need 4 buses?

** Bulk of loading is geared towards residents living along St 11/West Ave 8, given alternatives 66, 157, 174, 176, 178 & 506.
** Lots of Princess Elizabeth Pr Sch students boarded sv941 to the int than sv66/157/174/178/506, since they do not have to cross the road. Millenia Institute students would most likely prefer the other routes for the same reason rather than sv941 (unless they're heading to West Ave 8)

** Bunching with front bus occurred between West Ave 5 (towards int) and the int. The bus (SMB53H) overtook the front bus from Bt Gombak MRT to East Ave 5, after which the front bus (SMB1328J) overtook SMB53H.
** SMB53H departed <5 mins after SMB1328J departed Bt Batok Int, thus explaining the slightly weaker loading of <30 pax on SMB53H. SMB1328J was seen packed to the door (thus skipped).

For BBI, the PM peak is from 17.45 to 19.45 hours... so for sure 947 was taken in the prime PM peak... I had similar observations when I took sv 106 to BBI and waited there to monitor few routes..
Easy boarding for all 3 feeder services sv 941, 945, 947. Of these loading at BBI o n 945 > 941 > 947. 947 queue at most times had 20-25 pax only, maybe people prefer to do the extra walk and take 187/985? But why... normally Singaporeans do not like to walk. Guess in your loading, there could be people from other services who alight at the Central stop to transfer.
on monday (20/7) around 8.35am, sv72 queue at YCK ter is building up and no sv72 bus came back to terminal.. so the timekeeper for 72B go talk to the BC of 3353M (72B) and he proceed to pick up pax at 72 berth..
total around 120 paxes boarded the bus in around 2mins 45 sec.
still have long queue left behind. 2 mins after 3353 departed another B9TL arrive to pick up another 110 paxes in 2min 30 sec....next DD bus arrive at berth 1 min after the earlier bus left the berth and pick up around 90 paxes in 2 min plus...
all the upper decks of these 3 buses are full...
i took 72 from tamp int to tamp av 9 at 6.42pm today. got dd.
77 peop board at int. first stop tamp 5 another 7 peop board 2 lazy peop get down. have 82 peop on bus. av 6 one stop 30 peop out and 05 peop board. less than 40 peop on bus when i get down on last stop b4 av 10. 72 load feeder in tamp town.

Yishun Ave 2 – [around 10 pax board] 44, [-1+18] 61 (Khatib MRT), [-1+1] 61
Lentor Ave – 61, [+1] 62, 62
Jln Kayu – [-3+1] 60, [+1] 61, [-1+1] 61
Sengkang West Way – [-6+3] 58, [-8+3] 53, [+5] 58
Sengkang East Way – [-1+2] 59, [-3+1] 57 (20 pax didn’t board), [-3+3?] 57
Sengkang East Rd – [-16+2] 43
Compassvale Dr – [-7] 36, [-5+2] 33
Rivervale Dr – [-10+6] 29 (DD in other direction had okay loading)
Sengkang East Way – [-4+1] 26
Sengkang East Dr – [+1] 27
Punggol East – [-10] 17
Punggol Ctrl – [-9+1] 9 (DD in other direction had upper deck fully seated?), [-5+2] 6, 6, [-3] 3
Punggol Temp Int – [-3] 0- A lot of people unwilling to go upstairs (before Sengkang East Rd, 16 pax were standing)
- I just want to say that not only Sengkang West residents use 85 to Yishun. I estimate at least half of those on board before Jln Kayu are heading towards Sengkang East.
Hi mr array88, I agree. There is a substantial number of people going towards sengkang east on sbs 85. Cheers.

72 is a cash cow service. But the terminal is too small to accommodate all the 72/72B buses.. Somehow I see it as another service 74... Heavy load of passengers.

cash cow mean wat

Cash cow if I term it correctly is generating revenue due to high influx of passengers...
Saw a photo of VSO on 72B..lower deck packed, but from the front, the upper deck have 1 vacant seat. There could be more..
Base on sunlight, prob around 7:30am?

Cash cow is business jargon for a business venture that generates a steady return of profits that far exceed the outlay of cash required to acquire or start it.

Hmmm... so... what's your point... bcoz there maybe 5 vacant seats on upper deck... not to deploy DDs on 72B??
