his point is that if there are any empty seats on the upper decks of any DDs, then that service does not deserve any DDs....all seats on the upper deck should be taken

what! it could be because some pax are lazy to move up, at least half of all the pax don't move up, even if there are no seats on lower deck.
Haha look, did I say anything else? If no, stop assuming shits, thanks.

Peak loading in direction 1 = 52 pax (b/w HG and SGN North), 11 (b/w SGN North and NEX)
Peak loading in direction 2 = 14 pax (b/w NEX and SGN North), 14 (b/w SGN North and HG)
** Observed many people saw bus arriving status at interchange and queue quickly filled up for sv 116.. in the first 07 mins.. there were only 2 people in queue incl me, 2 mins before bus arrived around 40 pax joined queue and then while bus was on berth another 10 pax came running to catch bus (clear cannibalization of sv 72)
** Loading from NEX to SGN North lower than expected. In all my previous observations it is around 20-25 pax. I think could be because it was around +7.30pm but then 43/70/22 were going packed on opposite side

wapiang eh busanaly as long u pay u got the rights to take bus even for 1 stop only, its like saying u cant go to the upper deck if you not taking for more than 10 stops
To prevent this thing from happening,Its more better for 72A/B use single deck instead and revised the parent svc timings to supplement the loadings or extend those SWT by a few KMs
Yeah quite a good idea,Can make a turn at HCI and change to svc 72 back to YCK

Nowadays is not like the past. Nobody will want to walk the length of 2 bus stops which is equal to 800 metres. Transfer to bus costs few cents or even free depending on distance travelled. So who in his right frame of mind will walk??? There are other times to exercise and definitely people will not choose this timing.

No need la... You have 116 to supplement the Hougang sector. 72B to supplement ITE... already have good number of buses... + you have 72B buses to be e-pull in case of need... and then transfer the late coming 72 buses to 72B...
This keeps happening everyday at YCK... where 72 DDs are also transferred to do 72B one trip if required.
If 116 was not there, I would definitely appreciate 72M to be launched (and it would be like 43M has).
I think there should be a fleet addition for Svc 902.
While I was queueing for the bus, one 902 left. Subsequently the next 902 (rigid) came.. Aft that, there isnt a bus that came till about 10 min later.. Its quite hot and stuffy at WDI.
Suggesting whether the rigids could be replace with the DDs? Opinions wise? or maybe I get critizied badly here.. Hehex.

There aren't enough DDs yet... Nor are there enough bendies... Every month some service gets downgraded from Bendy --> SD.
902 actually should be operated like 72B with fleet of bendies/SD or DD/SD. I also would like it to get extended to WDL Industrial Estate...

Ooh... Hmmm.. I wonder also is it due to not enough drivers also.. There is an recruitment opening for SMRT drivers also leh..
I would agree that 902 should operate like 72B. But it all goes down to mapower issue and resources.

This doesn't come in as a very important issue but 902 could also be renumbered 169B instead.

It is more lack of high capacity buses IMO

Also can.

Actually they can kope 3 DDs from 972 for svc like 172.Can kope 2 DDs from 966 for svc 187

Don't really need DD/Bendy imo..frequency need to be better can liao. 5 mins per bus ; crossovers to cover some(or one) BC when taking short break.
The students won't be bothered to climb up when it's just 1 stop, unless told.
SMRT have been generous to send off the first bus before 7:30am.
i had suggested 902 to have DDs instead of rigids.
there used to be long queue for 902 and also 169. but 169 had since received 3 BSEP DDs and 1 DD.
I would disagree to the DD suggestion, one stop liao. I rather 902 spam rigid then ensure that pax alight faster than DD that will take a while to pick up pax then jam the area so as to cover maximum capacity, i rather have 2 902 rigid coming at once. 1 park at 902 berth, 1 park at 169 berth. Bendy will jam up the place and will take a long time to achieve maximum capacity

- No. of pax includes myself. May not be fully accurate for stops with heavy boarding/alighting.
- Travel time between NP and Marymount MRT was 35 min, which is ok though it can vary widely depending on PIE traffic. Svc 74 usually takes 5-10 min longer.
- 31 pax on express sector, most boarding pax at NP (+24), most alighting pax before AMK Hub (-15), but highest loading at Serangoon North (51).
- Significant no. of pax boarding/alighting outside the express sector, especially AMK to Serangoon North/Hougang. According to Mytransport.sg, the previous svc 74 was about 8-10 min ahead, probably why quite a lot of pax took 74e between AMK and Hougang.
- The next 74e arrived at the bus stop opp. Monfort Sch at 1928 with 5-10 pax onboard, bunched with 74 which had about 10-20 pax onboard.
