** If you observe peak loading, it acts like a feeder between Eunos and UBI with many pax and then pax drop between 20-40 pax for the maximum part of route after UBI all the way to Commonwealth, where loading again starts picking up.
** Such a long route makes sense in today's day and age???
** Definitely does not deserve ANY DD in direction from Eunos to BBT in AM peak, may be there is need from BBT to Eunos but needs to be further evaluated.
** Suggestion: Route should be shortened to ply between Harbourfront and Bukit Batok or max between New Bridge Road Terminal to Bukit Batok.
** Eunos to UBI should be covered by another service.
** Such long route will always cause schedule slippage.
Originally posted by carbikebus:61 can still start from BBT-Eunos IF they deleted the Ubi/Mcpherson sector and use 154 route from Eunos to Haig Rd market then all the way to North bridge Rd..I dun mind the Tanglin halt sector cause it create connections.Ubi/Mcpherson sector consume a lot of times
If 61 has to terminate at Eunos then it should do ubi because there is significant load from ubi to Eunos. 61 is one route where it has loading at both ends but becomes very weak in center. Also over the years there are many alternate options with improved capacity / frequency that has taken away the load from erratic 61. Loading still very high between Holland and Bukit Batok. Also only service to commonwealth dr/ tangling halt. So SMRT should make effort to improve service with 8-10 min frequency in this sector by reducing the route. 61 route from Harbourfront to Eunos can be covered by another service.

HBF have no space since 124 amended there. It can go via Henderson Road, Telok Blangah Way, Lower Delta Road and return to Eunos.
Ubi got alternative sbst sic mah...Weekdays morning from Bt Batok to Ngee Ann dun forget..Should introduce more 61A.Ubi depends,if 63 come first they will take..But I still firm by my stand...should skip McPherson..or can go Ubi after that turn left at the police stn all the way straight then turn use Mountbatten before proceeding to Nth bridge Rd..I still remember when I drive 61 then have to stop at the road side near Bt Timah to pee

Yes that's what bro... Too long a route... If u stop to pee, you are delaying schedule and hence 61 has one of the most erratic schedule...
IMO 61 should just terminate at Harbourfront and return back to bbt. There are still slots at Harbourfront even after 124.
Also IMO 93 should be diverted to terminate at Juronf east interchange via west coast highway (Sv 176) route to relieve loading on 176 and provide new link. Loading between HF and Queensway very poor after CCL and has not picked up.
I still dont get why there are still dds on 49,56,91,93,107,119,136,153
Esp 93 and 136, getting crossover dds.
49, 119 - BSEP? shouldnt 2 citaros be deployed instead ? If LTA keeps emphasising how "resources" are so important/precious then why are they wasting it? Lol.
56 DDs have not been full before as far as i can remember when i used to take 56 to work. Sometimes fully seated only. Can reduce 1 dd?
93/136, loading is poor for a DD, SDs are not even full.
91 - CCL eaten away most of its loads.
107/153, to the CBD is faster than MRT, but dont know why not many people utilise these svcs.

On 56, 107, 153.
56/107 - see page 4 of this thread. Not very high loading but loading does touch 70 pax. Hence, no capacity add, frequency improvement for these services. Managing with the fleet deployment that has not changed in last 3 years
153 - there is definite dd loading for this service. See page 2 of this thread. I do 153 analysis often because I feel not so many DDs are required. But then there are sectors where the loading crosses 70 pax and so the DDs should stay.
with 56 my major concern is the way the DDs are deployed. There are 3 SDs in between every dd. I would have expected the 3 DDs to at least alternate so that it caters to the peak load at Middle and Little India.
Sv 11 leaves Lor 1 Geylang with only 8 pax on board at 09.23 AM. Looks like this service loading will not pick up until stadium is complete. If extended to Eunos, will at least get some more pax. LTA should consider. Also can use Lor 22, Guillemard to get to Mountbatten with new bus stops and 2-3 Citaros.
Currently the one bus on Sv 11 is really like charity and total loss making from SBST side with low benefit.

why 56 must reduce i dd bus ? have you take the service after 9 am to afternoon? they are many people on board this service. of cos the problem go away with 57 going the same way as 56 to sim lim sq area and return to bishan. most of the people taking both service going there, but 57 cannot have DD due to tree problem along the way to red hill. with dd on 56 like today 16-04-14 when MRT problem come, it can help out.

49 cant say much cause of bsep but im sure the svc will extend in future 56,Peak hours loadings does require DDs but only 2-3 will do 93 school hours at Bartley can be full but understand doesnt require DDs. 91 must have peak hour DDs..still full from Ayer Rajah 107 definately need peak hour DDs..off peak loadings is somehow poor. 153?Before you comment further do you see the actual loadings? This svc justified to have DDs running during off peak also.. After this dont ask why 113 cant get DDs

If I am not wrong... 93 has no perm DDs... Just has 1 crossover dd which also you don't see everyday. 136 is only am peak timed for school timings.. 91 am peak def need.. Ayer rajah industrial load is not taken away by CCL. 49 still ok with DDs... 119 def is still a ? Mark

** After 2 mins, bendy came which to not to my surprise was also crowded.
** SMRT definitely needs to time all Bendies during PM peak from harbor front. Bus was so slow because it was rigid. High capacity buses are faster than rigids on high loading routes.
852 crowded to the door at 6pm from Marymount MRT to YCK MRT.
First time see Sv 116 with 40pax.

Hi mr SBS7557R, good effort. However, care to explain the conclusion of this audit? Worth it? Average service? Need improvement of frequency? Or enhancement of route? Thanks.

during the morning, 6.30am-7.25am. (Kovan station) towards upper paya lebar and 7.15am - 8.30am towards hougang central.

6:30 to 7:25 no high loading to upper Paya Lebar - please!! Yes, agreed high loading towards Kovan MRT in am and after 6pm towards Lor ah Soo.. But really the loading can be managed by SDs.. Witnessed so many times,.. Or like said before just use 2 returning DDs to HG interchange to do 1-2 rounds of 113A before heading off service to HGDEP. (139 style)
