I agreed,969 should be full DDs or at least with just a few OCs if Wldep takes in the buses.
For full DDs it will be 20 E500s and 4 A95s and for other option is
16 E500s,4 A95s and 5 OC500LEs.969A to be done by Amdep 67 split shift buses.

Cannot agree more. If 161/168 can have full fleet DD... 969 surely can. I hope it happens within the next 1 year.

Can,With 9 service already freed up,They can jollywell make it happen together with service 190 and service 960.
Another DD deployment mess up by SMRT (961)
Evening peak DD on sv 961 leaves Lor 1 Geylang at 18.40 hours. It is such a miss, because by the time it reaches Jalan Bukit Merah it is already 19.15-19.30 hours.. and the peak time rush at Bukit Merah is already gone. Imagine it will reach Mandai industrial estate only by 20.15-20.30 hours as the total run time for sv 961 is 2 and 1/2 hours one way.
So basically the DD is waste throughout the route.
There is an earlier DD that leaves Lor 1 Geylang at 16.45 hours... which is good because it will reach Bukit Merah by 17.30 hours and Mandai by 18.15 hours. So gets peak in both loading areas.
So 1 DD is in a proper time, the other one is totally misplaced and is timed for peak from Woodlands to Lor 1 which I am sure does not fetch DD worthy loading.
I believe the DD should leave Lor 1 between 17.00 and 17.30 hours to make best use of it.
Originally posted by BusAnalayzer:I think 961 is doing okay... The route is so long that by the time it starts in peak, it is already off-peak during its journey... 961 also has many other options along its way, so IMO fleet is doing okay.
972 is doing perfect with 24 DDs... operating at frequency of 04-05 mins... if there is no bunching, each bus easily gets 60-70 pax... can expect this only to increase with the new flats in Senja/Segar opened this quarter.
190 needs to cut 2 buses... which should be SDs.. around 10-12 SDs are spammed on sv 190... totally uneccessary... frequency right now is operating at 03-04 mins... managing loading very well... will say DDs take around 80-90 pax peak on each bus... a tad higher than 190
700 can lose its 2 bendies... totally not required... loading on 700 still better during AM but PM has lost loading considerably... Most buses have around 50-60 peak loading.
985 should be a fleet of 6 DDs, 10 SDs... and for GOD sake deploy the DDs at the right time, which SMRT is not doing right now.
972 have bunching ; happened to seen it. But both bus loading quite good(Front have higher one).
190 to stay as it is, remove 2 or more SDs back-to-back and spread the SDs all around(As back-up).

960 wise also can follow. 188 & 966 catching up also.

In my opinion, I'd rather WLDEP to deploy those OCs back to 858..

Citaro also not bad, for the "atas look"...
But Citaro isnt a fav among SMRT BCs

Not only 858,187 & 962 can utilise it.
Service 27's loading very funny. 40+ passengers alighted at PTB3 Bus stop
Loading analysis on sv 803 @ Yishun around 07.40am
Yishun Interchange -- 09
Yishun Ave 9 -- 09 (0/0)
Yishun Ring Road -- 14 (-3/8)
Yishun St 31 -- 35 (-3/24)
Yishun Ave 6 -- 55 (-5/25)
Yishun Ave 9 -- 65 (-2/12), 64 (-1/0)
* Frequency with bus in front = 08 mins that left interchange with 8 pax
* During the 8 mins waiting time, 2 sv 860 left interchange
* Observed few boarded ring road stop, and did not mind doing ave 6 loop to interchange (I think assured that they will get a seat or place to board ?? or too lazy to cross road ?? )
* Very good loading for short feeder just like sv 371... short and effective.

Approximate partial loading on sv 187 (SMB237U), from Woodlands Int
Friday 16 Oct 2015, ~1827hrs
My first attempt to record loading while en route home. Admittedly I wasn't well prepared, had only a pen and notebook, and had to stand in a packed A22 for most of my journey. Some of the busier stops were difficult to count, and may have a wider error margin. Here goes:
I dun understand SMRT concept of deployment,Svc like 187 do need more DDs and not more SD fleet added.187 i believe need 5 full day and 2 split DDs to begin with but they chose to add more DDs to svc like 966 and 972 which always occur bunchings..
3807X on sv 3 reached Pasir Ris Interchange @ 17.40 hours (bus was practically empty with around 30 pax boarding at Pasir Ris Int)
3807X leaves Tampines Interchange @ 18.40 hours to do Punggol bound service (left interchange with 25 pax)
Loading on sv 39 on 3916P at 18.48 hours from Tampines Interchange
Tampines Interchange -- 29
Tampines Ave 5 -- 38 (0/9), 47 (0/9)
Tampines Ave 2 -- 42 (-10/5), 32 (-15/5), 24 (-14/6), 33 (-2/12) already 19h+
Tampines Ave 7 -- 35 (-2/4), 33 (-8/6)
Loyang Ave -- 34 (-2/3)
Pasir Ris dr 1 -- 36 (-2/4), 33 (-7/4), 30 (-7/4), 28 (-6/4), 28 (-4/4), 26 (-8/6), 24 (-2/0), 24 (0/0), 24 (0/0), 22 (-2/0), 23 (-5/6)
Pasir Ris Dr 12 -- 27 (-5/9)
TPE Sengkang side -- 30 (-3/6) around 20h
Jalan Kayu -- 38 (-1/9) I alighted here.
** Peak loading = 47 pax
** Bus does Yishun to Tampines from 16.50 hours (so I think it misses the PM rush from Yishun/Jalan Kayu to Pasir Ris)
** Bus does Tampines / Yishun route as stated from 18.50 hours to 20.30h + (somehow misses the PM peak between Pasir Ris and Yishun towns as well)
** As per iris bus ahead was 09 mins, bus behind was 09 mins... so frequency seems pretty consistent and just under 10 mins (guess this was done when DDs were not around and sv 39 had to take in SD fleet adds almost every quarter to make up for it. Now with DDs coming in, the # buses still stays same and somehow loading on this sector has not increased)
** Overall spotted 2 DDs in opposite direction while on sv 39, both had around 30-40 pax only
** This is one route which does TPE and it surprises me that the loading is not very high. The reason I say this is that at the same time, I could still observe 161/168/969 DDs were packed.. and had good loading in both directions
** Maybe the DDs are getting better utilized in AM ? Just hoping their timings are right though.
Heard 859 bendies got full to the door during peak hour just now, justified for DDs or bendies?
Originally posted by TIB 585L:Heard 859 bendies got full to the door during peak hour just now, justified for DDs or bendies?
depends whether 856 called stop or not. sometimes 859 rigid comes before 856 bendy and gets packed to door. remaining people take the 856 that is right behind. still 859 does not justify a bendy or DD... unless they make some changes to 859 route first such as extension to loop at ring road.

A route like 859 should have been properly rerouted long ago ... right now it's already being heavily backed by 856, 859A and 859B, which just makes it inefficient.
Anyway, which sector on 859 usually sees the heaviest loading?

I think the problem is more with the timing. 8pm is way too late...
And also take note that the turnover rate is quite high especially between Tampines and Pasir Ris.
