Peak hour service from Tampines to Tampines Industrial Park A
Operating hours:
0630 hrs to 0930 hrs
1630 hrs to 2000 hrs
Service 68 will be introduced on 16 June 2003 as a trial service for 3 months. -

The service skips one pair of stops along Ave 5 (outside and opposite stadium) and another one pair of stops along Ave 1 (near and opposite SAFRA). -
The service is introduced to serve the people working in Industrial Park A to and fro the interchange. It only acts as a supplementary to services 22 and 293 along Ave 4 during the weekday peak hours.Originally posted by Airbus330Captain:Hmmm sounds great , looking forward to see this service . -
Hey, wanna guess the buses that will be deployed?
I admit there's no challenge in it, but definitely Scania L113s OAC/CAC and/or Volvo B10M Mk IIIs. Sigh, another new service operating those usual buses again, how good if we can see 0405s on them new services in Tampines, maybe PA 0405s ? That will be interesting. -

er maybe become another 37 bus. just grab any OAC or CAC it can get its hands on

Yes, possible, just grab any free bus that BNDEP has. I would expect Scania N113CRBs, though, not Mk IIIs, especially the NAC ones.

Is the service full-air-con or partial-air-con?

So it would be damn funny to see Sv. 68 using a CAC N113 one day and the next a NAC. Anyway I think it would grab any available buses from other services as it's only operational during peak hours.

I remember when 87 and 88 were introduced, SBS did mention that they are partial air-con, though all full fleet of air-con buses were used after about 3 months. I still remember that day when I tried to take 9888, but failed! I got a 2nd batch VO instead and when I saw a non air-con N113, I counted myself lucky for being able to enjoy air-con on the ride to Hougang Ave 3. -
Today is the first day of service. How is the fleet like? Anyone who knows please tell us more. Thanks.

Hmm, Superbus can you update us on this? I believe the bus stop inside Tampines Industrial Park A is just a little bay, a pavement and a pole with 68 on it?

I know 700P was one of the buses yesterday, I check out later on 68 today .

Hmm, they used Mk IIIs from BNDEP? Odd, we were all expecting Scania N113CRB buses.

Read in the newspaper, the workers in the industrial estate have keep asking SBST to provide a bus service there since 1994. They finally get the service after 9 years of waiting.....
