also, was driving from Whitley Road to BKE yesterday...
523 pm spotted 2 x 972 DD at whitley road (toward orchard)..by the time i reach start of BKE at 530pm, saw another 5 972 DD at the opposite site. (most of them are travelling in pairs)..
so assuming it take around 7 mins to go from BKE to Whitley road, that mean from 523pm to 537pm (14 min), 7 x972 DD will pass by whitley road...all are almost empty..

That is the reason why i have emphasized that why 972 need 24 DD buses? The route might look longer given the expressway route it ply.Maybe time to cut 2-3 DDs.I always saw 3-4 near empty DDs for this svc 972 which is waste of resource.

972 empty towards orchard at evening. But the return leg toward bt panjang is full house.
It is just way TOO MUCH capacity these days...
If you observe at Scotts road... you have 972 DD every 04-05 mins and 190 DD/bendy/rigid every 02-04 mins... That's a better frequency than even MRT. So basically someone going to BPJ first stop.. can have a bus every 02 mins...
Obviously... some of them will go empty...
I think 20 DDs was the right number for 972... and 38 DDs is the right number for 190... now I feel both services are way too pampered... + there is 700... (don't forget)
Service 291 and 293 both have 3 buses arriving together. Service 98, 187, 291 and 293 still bunch
Today bus service 307 was in a havoc...2-4 buses bunch together, a 20-40 mins wait, then another few buses bunch...
At 440pm, SMB1574P, SMB1538U and SMB1566M reach CCK INT together..with the former 2 on 307 while SMB1566M was on 307E...
Then, SMB1570A spotted taking pax from berth at 442pm, and just at interchange, bus was packed to the door (bus was fresh from int). SMB1538U was made to skip CCK interchange and departed together with SMB1570A. SMB1570A skipped Lot One stop while SMB1538U picked up Lot One pax and was filled to the door too...
SMB1574P follow shortly behind and 3 mins later, SMB1566M was spotted...
That means, within 5 mins, FOUR 307s departed CCK Int... I am not sure what the timekeeper was doing..he/she could have deployed 1566M or/and 1570A to take pax from yewtee mrt or opp CCK MRT bus stop...
And btw, before SMB1570A was a 30 mins wait, where SMB3117M and SMB1573S also departed CCK INT together around 410pm...
Heard that this bunching has been occurring from 9 plus in the morning up to 6 plus in the evening....
Buses on 307 today (7 buses)
SMB1538U (AP01)
SMB1566M (AP02)
SMB1570A (AP03)
SMB1573S (AP04)
SMB1574P (AP05)
SMB1575L (AP06) -- only bus not spotted bunching with other buses
SMB3117M (TQ01)
Service 27: SBS8718L arrived shortly after SBS8743M at Changi Airport PTB2. In the end, SBS8718L took the lead and SBS8743M followed behind SBS8718L all the way to Hougang Bus Interchange

Service 24: SBS8362D and SBS8457P arrived together at Changi Airport PTB3

858 now regularly bunching 3 buses in less than 8 mins..Great relief for Airport workers.
972 most of the times doesnt maximise its capacity due to short interval and more buses.190 slightly better than previously.972 ideal fleets is 20 buses meaning 13 A/P and 7 SS while 190 is 38 DDs and 2 SDs with 20 A/P and 20 SS.700 can stay as back up service.

852 frequency is 12-14 mins. If 3 buses came in 15 minutes say... you can expect there was no bus for 30 mins before these arrived.
It is a good idea to have SBS8134X even though it was behind SBS6866E and SBS8718L. And the waiting times for Service 27 will be reduced.
On 1 August 2015, cannot tell if Service 2, 10, 12, 33, 51, 54, 57, 61, 63, 70, 80, 100, 106, 107, 124, 128, 145, 147, 162, 166, 167, 174, 195, 196, 197, 700, 851 and 961 bunch
The waiting times for Service 14 has reduced on 1 August 2015. SBS7417L was most likely traveling fast and caught up with SBS3816U.
