Why no VO 3-axles on service 143?

As above, this service should use newer buses such as VO 3-axles or Trident as it passes through Orchard and Chinatown, also it is a high demand service.
Any other SBST services currently using LO 3-axles but you expect them to upgrade to newer buses? -
They had a few VO 3 axles last time, together with some MK4 DM3500. Service 22 needs some upgrading, together with service 157 and probably 154 (too many NAC buses). -

Service 22 needs some upgrading, together with service 157 and probably 154 (too many NAC buses). -

ZYX bus uses the ex 88 VO3axles for its svc 143
so i suggest 143 takes the VO from 88 and give lo2x to 88

Ok serously, 143 may hopefully get VO3x when the NEL opens and some buses get axed.

What to do. This service goes to Jurong mah,
If it goes to either Bedok or Tampines,
SBST sure give 100% Volvo Olympian or even 100% Volvo Super Olympian to Service 143.
I think SBS look down on Jurong.

Actually you are wrong here.
1. Volvo Super Olympians are deployed on service 143 when the VSOs first came into service. However, due to some advertising contract problems, they are taken off.
2. Services in the west uses VSO too. In fact, 3 VSOs have made appearances on service 157 (Bedok - Clementi) and one on the service 7. Infact, the west is the likely candidate to get new buses if there's any.
3. Service 143 uses a few Volvo Olympians and MK4 DM3500 back then. It's just that SBS Transit is phasing out the Leyland Olympian 2 axles, and that is why the deployment is a little unstable now.
Let's hope that the West will get more new buses. (My fav service 166 will benefit too!!

Sv. 166 is jointly operated by AMDEP and BBDEP, by right they should get new buses, but perhaps with NEL opening, they may cut it, together with Sv. 132 to Bishan and then it might be solely controlled by AMDEP or BBDEP.Originally posted by off_service:Hello PT21.

Sv. 51 Dennis Trident is deployed from HGDEP, so it is not a case of SBST not looking down on Jurong, actually they do. 157 plies between Toa Payoh and Boon Lay. The VSO on svc 7 (SBS 9800 A) should be a sub bus. -
I don't know about service 166, but svc 132 is a much needed service for people from Hougang South to Ang Mo Kio. But still, I hope service 166 won't be amended to Bishan, I'm sure it will bring alot of inconvenience to residents in Ang Mo Kio. Ang Mo Kio is a much more developed town than Bishan. These passengers can always take Sv. 165 from Thomson Rd, it may cause inconvienience, but do you think SBST cares?

Hougang South will be closed in due course, SBST will divert a service to pass by Kovan area and link up with AMK to replace Sv. 132 if it is shortened.

Anyway, I dun think that SBS Transit minds about what kinda model that they have plied on every services. Also, we can't do anything about it.
