maybe we can have different shades of red, from red to white, or from white to red.
just wondering, would pink colour be a good colour for public bus livery? hot pink colour. bright and positive.
then inside the interior is pink colour...
wouldn't it be pretty looking? :)
It's green, not red.
All London buses are normally red because Transport for London currently mandates it. London is more of an exception case.
Interior is not so important,Most to most just change the seat cushions
Regarding the livery thing, isn't LTA considering having the standard LTA livery on all buses like the ones on DTL trains rather than having the operator's livery?
Was 61 also part of the Bulim contract? Nothing mentions about a Eunos service in the LTA document. :S

That is their future plan. That's so Transperth style.
By the way, the "green" colour in the LTA logo is not green colour.
Apparently, it seems that the colour is

Apparently, it seems that the colour is
- R: 0
- G: 133
- B: 147
or
- C: 85
- M: 32
- Y: 38
- K: 4
the colour is somewhere between green colour and blue colour.I guess the colour may be Teal colour.
maybe you're right.
So all buses to have LTA brand on them? I'd have preferred Transitlink.
but, you know, Malaysia have one bus company where all the buses is in a single blue colour livery. maybe it is not wise for us to use Blue or Teal colour. later mix up with their buses how?
white colour also very common colour among the private buses.
actually, why not re-use the past red-white livery in SBS/SMRT? maybe this time can rotate the colours, such that white is below, while red is above. like national flag like that.
or better still, red and white horizontal stripes throughout.

Question: which cost less - livery with single colour or livery with design?
actually, why not Gold colour?
gold colour buses running on the road, like seeing gold bar everywhere. if well-polished, the buses will also shine. like very nice like that leh... what do you all think?

Neil Smith spotted taking 334 at Jurong East. 61 and 852 from BBI not included in the Bulim package.

i think the sbst or smrt bus driver should not jump into the idea that forginer operator is not good or will make changes in operation that fast. if any thing to go by i think they can offer the salary much higher than the present operators.

Somewhat agreed,Just like in airport where new ground handler ASIG offer higher basic pay and benefits more than incumbents SATS and Dnata

u sure? then why all workers does not appear on the first day of the new contract with Jetstar causing all sorts of delay?
Originally posted by JurongWestresident:regarding the transition, because this is a new model, this involves a change of depots.
how will operations of the 26 bus services be transferred to the new depot? on the very last day before this new model starts, will buses be sent to the new depot or the current depots? ....
okay. I understand already.
I guess this new contract will start on the night shift on last day of the current contract. at the last day after the buses completed their run, they will be sent to the new depot, where the new bus company will receive them, and begin the GCM contract the next day.
hopefully, schedules can be arranged in collaboration with the existing bus companies (SBS Transit and SMRT), to ensure that during the week(s) when the transition takes place, the workers switching to the new company can have at least one day off-day.
whereas for the buses, I guess the transfer of ownership to the LTA wil take place gradually before the transition, from SBS Transit / SMRT to the LTA. Some paper work and transactions here.
actually, for the buses, my concern is on the feeder bus services. will they use double decker or articulated bus?
I guess before the very last night when buses move from the current depots to the new depot, there will be new buses there already. To be exact, it's 380 minus 290, 90 new buses.
#twocentsworth #justsaying #crapping
why dun u go and read the press release, tower transit wont start operating 26 services at the same time. it will be gradual handover.. maybe one week 2service or 1 month 4-5 services to be handed over..... and currently it will be 290 buses max and it will go up to 380 buses by end of 5 years....
you are really crapping...

For instance, 241, 243, 334 and 285 in Jurong West, Jurong East and Clementi.
Likewise, about trunk bus services that currently operate below the maximum frequency of 15 minutes (during peak hours).
For instance, 179. Apparently, only 179. I cannot seem to find any trunk bus service that operates at frequency below 10 minutes. Well, maybe the other one is 181. but, it's really very few la... so, maybe the best is to introduce new bus services to patch up a bit? :/
whereas for the feeder bus services that may be affected, maybe should also introduce new feeder bus services to patch up.

frankly speaking, i dunno what you are thinking? LTA say that the feeder will operate between 6-8 mins, DOES NOT mean that the feeder cannot operate at <6 min frequency.... same go for those trunk service...

- Keolis $131.6m
- RATP ($141m implied) Lump sum $715.4m
- Woodlands Transport $145.9m
- Go-Ahead $153.5mDid not make shortlist: Aedge, Jinan, Jiaoyun-GSH.
Result expected to be released in April.
there seem to be some confusion about the bid figures? as i think Sin Min have a different sets of bidding value ...
further, from the tender awarded, it seem like tower transit was awarded the contract at 125m per year... so why do LTA mention that the total cost is 556 mil for 5 years?

Its because those Caucasians doesnt believe in more manpower per flight and rushing environment thus those massive delays occured and last minute of nearly 35 new staffs never turned up for work,After that they slowly recruit more manpower majority APS staff with higher basic pay and of course a few of SATS and Dnata staff..Just last month ASIG management turned down offers from Delta and Air France/KLM due to insufficient wide body trained staff.
So GCM 1st tender is Bulim followed by Loyang then Seletar in quarter 17 and Ulu pandan by 1st half 18?So Mandai is around 2019 and Changi is around 2020 right?

only 3 packages will be tendered out.. balance will be after 2022... the 3rd one should be seletar, covering Yishun/YCK services....

why compare a bus service to airline service? it two different company. i like the plan of employ after that have chance of upgrade to higher position in the company.

look like smrt and sbst have to watch out as they might not even have a chance to renew the licence if LTA think different and the new company set a higher standard of employment and service.
You should come to Perth and experience the standard of service for yourself before making such a comment.
It was enough to motivate me to actually get a driving license in Australia.
If you change your mind later, be prepared to buy a car in Singapore.
You have been warned.
