For Bulim package that consists of only 4 Clementi svc is just a temporary measure.Once Tengah town is half complete there will be a bus terminal with 4-5 new bus service and Ulu Pandan will take over.
Loyang control of Punggol also temporary i might think,Once Tampines North is completed and Sengkang depot integrated with bus depot it will take over Punggol in future.Loyang will handle Tampines North and partial of Tampines service.
Guess the remaining bus packages,We already have Bulim and Loyang.Next is Sungei Seletar,Ulu Pandan,Mandai,Changi and Kim Chuan. My guess for another 5 more packages(Might be 13 packages depending on situation) is Sengkang,Bishan,Gali Batu/Bt Panjang,Queenstown and Kallang.I predict that in 7 years time only 3-4 operators will run the bus service.
I think for Sungei Seletar which complete around August next year will consist of bus service from Yishun:171,800,803,804,805,806,811,812,851,852,853,854,855,857 & 860.For Yio Chu Kang:70,72,76 & 162.Ang Mo Kio:130,133,135,138,261,262,265 & 269.Likely winner will be SMRT or Tower Transit/Go Ahead.

There is one regoless A95 in WLBP. The part above the driver cabin is cover in black (where they put the SMRT logo). I think Lta will keep those E500 with Smrt instead.

actually, I was expecting some office-style interview, with around two rounds of interview. first round is about technical knowledge, second round is then about when you can start work, etcetera.... I was not expecting them to be so relaxed with the interview. well, this means they are really desperate for drivers, that they do not really care much.
by the way, just wondering, in the application form, did they ask you what's your poly/uni GPA, A lvl uni score, O lvl L1R5/L1R4, PSLE score, etcetera? or did they only ask you what's the highest driving license that you have?
The whole industry is still crying out for bus drivers.
But if the HR department has not done its homework, especially background checks, then they may be in for some nasty surprises.
They really had no choice,If they tend to be choosy then less Singaporeans will work for them.If they require Poly graduate to drive buses then theyre digging their own grave. Its aint easy to find drivers nowadays since SMRT also raised their basic pay and benefits.Beggars cant be choosy.

I got Class 4 with Vocational license,an ex SBST and SMRT BC and what do you think? Not suitable for the job?I dont take company transport as i have my own car and motorcycle.I am willing to help them with my experience and if they still doubt then i feel that theyre choosy,Beside the one interviewed me is a local Chinese lady not the Ang Moh.
SBST may get some A22s soon...
Not so suprised consider the new A95 also included in the GCM too
Off topic but still a concern:

Not sure...don't seems to have tree guard though...
And someone posted a picture of green livery A95(should be), with headrest...on Sg road. That green livery carries some grey stripes, resembles GCM livery.
Hopefully LTA will order more A95s and additional E500s for GCM and retired those VO3Xs,Tridents,VSOs and O405Gs earlier.
Adding on, that green A95 have a TV onboard...similarly to HK...probably HK? But livery seems to be for SG..
Yeah i saw it,wing mirrors also HK spec,Probably this is the one i saw weeks ago beside the SMRT one.Maybe future GCM buses install with TV?

maybe it is for the concept bus to be display at the bus carnival???
I was at Boon Lay MRT Station just now. Got people distribute flyers, so I go take one.
The flyer title is "Job Opportunities in the Bus Industry".
There is a job fair coming up on 9 March 2016, from 1pm to 5pm, at Devan Nair Institute for Employment and Employability (at Jurong East).
It is organised by NTUC e2i. It is supported by the LTA and the four bus operators (Go-Ahead, SBS Transit, SMRT and Tower Transit).
For more information, you can visit their website, at
http://etms.sg/e2i/publictransport
Anyway, what I want to write is about the requirements for bus captains.
According to the flyer, the hiring requirements for bus captains are as follows:
- Valid Class 3 Driving License.
- Min Secondary Education.
In the flyer, they also have mention about bus technicians.
The hiring requirements for bus technicians are as follow:
- NITEC or Higher NITEC in Automotive Technology (Heavy Vehicles), Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics or Mechanical Engineering.
(I think Polytechnic diploma in MAE or EEE (power engineering) may also be accepted)
well, to respond to sgbuses,

Yes, although there is a demand for bus captains, there is a need for them to have at least secondary education and Class 3 Driving License.
to answer carbikebus,

Yes, you are qualified for the job. In fact, you are over-qualified to be bus captain. Minimum requirement is Class 3 Driving License. You have class 4 with Vocational license.
Actually, driving bus may be a bit short-changing you. Consider the qualifications that you have, you may want to do other jobs, like drive vehicles which require minimum class 4 driving license. For example, the vehicle that transport oil to petrol station. Who knows the pay may even be higher.
Anyway, bus captain got job security. We need bus captains, regardless of whether the economy is good or bad. :)
oh, by the way, in the flyer, they also got say that "your work experience will be taken into consideration during the interview". so, since you have so many years of experience driving bus, I think it's a bonus for you. :)
but, how about the newbies who just started working and want to become bus captains? in the flyer, they also got say that "skills coversion programmes will be available to fit you into the specialisation". I'm sure they will be given the opportunity to build their portfolio over time. :)

U r too qualified. They will have a quite a number of experienced BC. which are coming from Sbst. Frankly speaking,I would rather save money by hiring a new guy with a basic pay of $1865. Instead of paying $3000 basic. This is bus driving. Not some specialized vocation. These companies are not charity. They are profit organization n they have to match whatever current salary for those affected BC who are interested to come over.
You got your say there, but for class 4,they only went for bus route training instead of how to drive/park a bus which save time and also money..and the basic pay is not $3000 for your info.
