Seriously LTA should let 136 stay with SBST and replace with svc 109 or 29(Reversed) instead.
I find it absolutely disgusting they decided to use the Citaros instead for SDs.
In WHAT way are the Citaros even better than the A22s, besides its bodywork. Substandard interior (compared to A22) with NO PIS, NO ac eyeballs, awkward seating, and lower capacity (due to its longer and more narrow aisle), not to mention comparatively outdated door system. And the specs, mostly inferior to the A22.
What is the reason for this then? Save money?? Don't think these are the things the govt should be saving on bah... These buses are gonna be with us for 18 years!! Or is it due to excess from BSEP? Then this is clearly a lack of foresight on the govt's part to buy in bulk for outdated spec bus...
It makes me cringe seeing them on SMRT svcs, like a downgrade after having went so far with their A22s. Tragic indeed.

They thought can save more fuel buying lower capacity engine when they themselves restrict the power like siao making the buses more sluggish and slower.I can understand the 60kmh max but 1st gear power? With full loadings and that aircon unit?My God,Those who have drive Citaros tend to agree with me.Beside the engine output and weaknessess i dont think there is a great margin for the seating capacity and interior..The best is to buy new low floor and low entry buses together.Seriously i dont think Citaro can take 55 standing passengers no matter how you squeeze inside.

First it was "too many A22s"! Now it is "too many Citaros"!
This was what the lobbyists wanted back then. Buyer's remorse? #firstworldproblems

Ah ha. NEVER had I once hoped for such bulk purchase. If u know the lobbyists send my regards to them. God bless their misguided souls.
Given the choice between A22s and taros I would choose the former in a heartbeat. I'm sure many others will too.
Lots of potential fleet planners here. Not.

buy KUB, ppl complain of steps.. so the ppl suggest to buy more A22/citaro (stepless)..
then now buy A22/citaros, ppl complain of narrow aisle, cant fill too many standees..
maybe should buy yutong or TATA buses instead..

A22, Shitaro to me all the same. We shud stack the Shitaros on on top of the A22's to make double decker buses.

bring back O405 is the best....
Lol. Since when did I complain about A22s sia. I think that they are great buses. Dont shove words into my mouth.
I'm just amazed by how they decided to take in SBST Citaros, clearly outdated and lacklustre in tdchnology compared to A22.

Apparently, the buses in Bulim GCM will begin with a mixture of advertisements, the new livery and the former operators' livery (without the former operator logo).
Here is a picture taken inside the Bulim depot:
Saw this picture of a bus being painted with the new livery:
From the looks of it, re-painting a bus takes 2-3 days.
Bulim GCM will use around 367 buses, of which around 50 will begin with the new livery. It's going to take at least 1 year 4 months to apply the new livery on all the buses.
My prediction for the next package Sungei Seletar.
Yishun Int:103,171,800,803,804,805,806,811,812,851,852
853,854/E,855,857 & 860.
Sembawang Int:117,167 & 980.
Yio Chu Kang Ter:70/M,72,76 & 162 and plus a 2-3 new service.
Actually LTA shouldnt include svc 3 and 136 into the Loyang package.Svc 3 mostly plied Eastern area(Tampines/Pasir Ris) before going Punggol and 136 is obviously AMK svc(13x).Should have given svc 29(Reversed) and svc 5.As for Bulim there is no need to include svc 66,143,96 and the three Clementi Feeders also,Can just include svc 154,157,240,241,242 & 243.
