The reason why you see the BC didnt want to overtake the front bus because most of them didnt have any public bus experience at all..Mostly all get free Class 4 license from TT and they die2 adhere to their schedule even though theyre late.If its was a former SBST or SMRT BC i am sure they will overtake to tank in some pax to help the front bus.

Some buses can be deployed out of their contract areas too. I have seen buses from Gosnells on Route 527, which belongs to Canning GCM and the responsibility of Canning Vale depot.
Shenton Park occasionally does City Beach routes, which are under Marmion. In the past, we used to see the odd Wanneroo bus on these routes back when Path Transit had a monopoly of the northern suburbs bus routes.
Technically Route 36 can be run from Bayswater, although it is officially with Kalamunda, as Bayswater depot is closest to Midland. Provided they have enough buses, of course.

The incumbents might be seriously affected by the GCM/BCM.
The incumbents (SBST/SMRT) are losing money for their bus operations. They need to collect large amounts of advertising revenue to make up for this loss.
The GCM/BCM operators are paid a standard amount every year for bus operations. They will not have to use their money for their bus maintenance, and are guaranteed of profits. They can also keep the advertising revenue.
TT can just decide to offer advertising packages at a very low price, with very little profit, something that the incumbents cannot do (or they will lose money). When this happens, companies will flock to TT for advertising, and the incumbents will have to compete by cutting the cost of their advertising packages as well (and they cannot make up for their loss from operating costs), or back out from bus advertising completely.
Following this, the incumbents might 'play cheap' on bus maintenance, and service standards of their services might be affected. LTA will have a big problem.
If this happens, LTA will have to implement BSRF on all bus services, and increase the incentives and penalties. SBST might just refuse to operate 84 on weekdays.
Wah your thinking ah really out of this world.Maintenance will be bourne by LTA la friend. You give $497.7m to Go Ahead with maintenance like that jialat la..Imagine more bus went for overhaul,How much only can the company earn.

That is what causes the problem. Because the GCM operators do not have to use their money for maintenance (not even the money paid by LTA), so they can offer ridiculously cheap advertising.

Depend on what kind of advertisement la,Its at competitive rates and also where do the svc go also. You wouldnt want to put ION Orchard ad on svc 975 dont you?

They are not exactly guaranteed profits. Yes, they will have profits if they manage the payouts carefully while fulfilling all agreed standards within the contract. Even better if they exceed and receive incentives. Less or no profits or even losses if they are regularly fined for poor performance and have money deducted from their fees.
Judging from their performance yesterday and today, what do you think?
and are you sure operators do not need to pay to maintain the buses? who says? LTA buys and owns the buses but it is the operators who maintain the bus and the equipment onboard using the fees they are being paid. maintenance costs as a result of their proposals are covered by the fees. again they will have to use the fees wisely.

every service under GCM will be subjected to BSRF and EWT standards with incentives and penalties per service.

Haven't you seen in the press releases that SBS and SMRT are also moving to the GCM model with negotiated contracts that will allow them to run the rest of the packages (ie the 9 out of 12 packages that are not going to be tendered out yet) for the next few years?

And LTA will have to offer a rate comparable to TT's contract. Otherwise, the two incumbents may say "screw that, we will focus on our financially sustainable train ops, feel free to sell/give everything relating to our bus business to TT".
Remember that SMRT once wanted out of their bus business until GCM/BCM was announced.
If that happens, I for one will buy a car the next day.

He where got read press release one? even dunno how many citaros that SBST have bought? think he and that "jurongresident" are brother?
I do not think LTA is footing the maintenance bill.
If maintenance is borne by LTA, I would have F1-style teams to standby for buses needing repair or maintenance.
Bus drivers will have no incentive not to run their buses into the ground - i.e. They would treat buses as though they are relief taxis drivers!
The engineering manager told me that any repairs and maintenance is bourned by LTA including the diesel but of course all have to go through proper channel.Mileage has to record,Fuel usage has to be recorded also..Company only pay staff salary.Accident case company has to pay for the damage too..Not sure if he lying to me.

technically he didn't lie, agreed fees paid to the operator include costs of maintenance

Saw this article ("Tower Transit 首工作日顺利 å¢žåŠ å·´å£«æ•°é‡至94"; 30 May 2016) on Channel 8 news, which I find it quite interesting.
The news reporter commented that Tower Transit "整体è¿作相当顺利,ä¸过还需多观察一阵å,以确ä¿现有安排具å¯æŒç»æ€§ã€‚" (overall operations quite smooth, but need to observe for a while to ensure that existing arrangements can continue.)
A professor from NUS felt that "一些部分将需时间让一切稳定下让车长熟悉新系统,让乘客熟悉新模。" (some parts need time to let everything settle down to let drivers familiarise with the new system, and let passengers familiarise with the new model.)
One passenger noticed that "能这是车长首次驾驶,所以他们比较谨慎,车速比一般的慢。" (probably because this is the drivers' first time drive bus, so they more careful and drive slower.)

Anyway, today, I was on bus services 106 and 173, from around 12:30pm to 1:30pm. Both were late by 1-2 mins. The LTA mytransport app say 106 will arrive in 3 mins, but the bus arrived 5 mins later. The app say 173 will arrive in 9 mins, but the bus arrived 10 mins later.... but gotta give TT benefit of doubt, cuz as far as I know, SBS also got buses that do not come on time, so actually TT quite good already. :)
Meanwhile, there is a picture on (buses[in]gapore!) Facebook page which shows a green MAN A22 on bus service 925... I guess it may be related to the third GCM package.
925 is under Wldep/Kjdep Woodlands Int-CCK Int and the third package is Sungei Seletar Brother..
Seeing B9TL on 106 is like seeing SBS going back to Bukit Batok, but then although the bus was procured by SBS, the company operating the bus isn't.

You don't have to. There is still SBST. Don't think they will give up their bus operations so easily.
Another 5 buses reach Lydep today(3 Citaros and 2 B9TL Wrights).
