51/105/197 not there can be understood as many of them having hgdep/BNDEP control. 52 should have been there as it is full SLBP. On the other hand 66 is BNDEP controlled as well... So I would gave expected 52 instead of 66 to appear in the list.
Again 852 not there makes sense, but why 61 left out?

- 197, 51, 52 and 105 are bus services originating from the Eastern region of Singapore.
- 98M and 143M are complementary bus services to 98 and 143.
Bus service 49 is in the list. I guess bus service 49 will be extended to Jurong East Bus Interchange and cover most sections of 143M and 98M and replace them, that's why 98M and 143M are not in the list.At Bukit Batok Bus Interchange, only two of the ten bus services are not in the first package: 61 and 852.At Clementi Bus Interchange, the ones in the first package are all bus services that loop within Clementi area, while one of them is from Bukit Batok Bus Interchange.Based on this first package, I guess the second package will also be in an area that is less developed and would utilise less than 500 buses in the beginning.
How would 49 cover the route for 143M... I think when it tenders 98/143, don't the M variant get tendered also? I think route of 49 will stay as it is.. Why does it need to change?

Many of these services -66, 78, 79, 96, 97, 143, 183, 334 are high revenue services for SBST... Trying to imagine how SBST is planning to cope with this. Either SBST has this figured out internally with LTA and self given these bus numbers. Why would SBST let any other operator but Itself operate these services?
So all our speculation of which services belong to Wenya/Bulim depot go cui cui... :) isn't for SMRT after all!

whether the services are popular or high revenue does not matter any more since revenue all went to govt..... in actual fact, those operators would rather tender for packages that consist of less popular routes... imagine u tender for package with 190/966/969 and have to keep on monitoring and adding buses or face more complains (thus affecting the performance), wouldnt that be more work for the bus company that win the tender? if the routes include more of those less popular routes, it will be easier for bus companies to manage..
before this new contracting model came out, there are speculation that govt will just bundle the routes (popular and not popular) and just let bus companies bid/operate and collect all the revenues.... if base on this concept, then the revenue will be important

SBST will get awarded... Based on experience on running these svcs
Next package will be NORth (Yis) w a mixture of yck svcs...
Or East where loyang depot is...

Actually, I feel it would be better if we award this package to a foreign/private bus company (or a joint-venture between several foreign/private bus companies) with as many (or more) years of experience and with as many (or more) awards and valid certifications.
If this package is awarded to one of the two existing bus companies, it would make the Bus Contracts model less effective in promoting competition in the public bus services industry, as the competition would still be between the two existing bus companies.

Well, I believe the first three bus contracts model will implemented at existing depots whose tenure can be renewed in 2016 or/and new depots which would be available in 2016.

Hi mr pervertedboy, the tender has to be fair. All parties including sbst and smrt will stand a chance. No such thing as award to others except incumbents just for the sake of making it different to suit the bus contract model. Cheers.

Existing depots whose tenure can be renewed in 2016:
- Bedok North Ave 4 (Temporary Occupation Licence)
- 209 Kranji Road (current tenure will expire at around Q2 next year)
- 6 Ang Mo Kio Street 62 (SMRT)(current tenure will expire at around Q2 in 2016)
New depots which would be available in 2016:Since they are new, it is easier to have the first few packages based on the depots at Bulim (Boon Lay) and Loyang (Pasir Ris). Thus, I think the second package will be based on the depot at Loyang.Whereas for the third package, I guess it would not be in the West or East, but in the North - so that every section of Singapore can have an equal start on the bus contracts model. Being the only bus depot in the North whose tenure can be renewed in 2016, I suppose the third package will be based on the depot at Kranji.
OT: Why do you write such long essays? Gets boring to read.. suggestion that might help you in life other wise also. summarize your points into crisp statements and do not exceed 5-6 lines.
I agree. LTA needs to address the issue of so many buses now cramming into CBD in AM peak all between 8-8.30 am with City Direct / Express / Premium and standard services. Fullerton road especially is a mess.
True bro evdae at collyer quay oue bayfront long q, bus arrive there q to unload passengers take mre than 10mins, feedback given to have full bus lane from one fullerton onwards was rejected coz of silly hotel there, staggered bus stops suggestion was shot down, unloading by private operators n certis cisco bus at one fullerton worsen situation...
Back to topic, 1st package release 2 mre to go...
If one realise, LTA nt using existing depot, n order not to disrupt the remaining 80% of routes n existing depot mgt, the other 2 packages
Loyang : selected PSR/TAMP SBST n SMRT rts runnin EAST
WL BP : selected YCK, YIS SBST n selected SBW YIS SMRT svcs...

Woodlands YES but WLBP no. WLDEP has height restriction and can be demolished when the time comes - possibly by 2022 :)

Next allocations will be Loyang Depot (EAST) and Woodlands Bus Depot (WLDEP). I want WLDEP to be pissed off from the company and move to the company that can think of single-deck and articulated bus friendly due to the serious height restrictions :)

WLDEP had height restrictions?

But I thought the bus depot at Woodlands tenure will only end at around 2027, according to page 200 of SMRT's Annual Report 2013?
Meanwhile, the bus depot at Kranji tenure will end next year. Based on the street-view by Google maps, Kranji depot looks like the new Bulim bus depot & it does not seem to have height restrictions. I think more likely is Kranji Bus Depot.
