I agree 961 does not need DDs... the high loading area is only around Woodlands road when during peak some pax can be stranded.. but then have option to take 170 as well.

I disagree..it's usually full during peak hours towards woodlands along bukit timah even though bus bunching happens a lot, 1 or 2 dds will actually be good. 170 is usually pretty full too at night during peak.
But for now Lor 1 got too many low hanging trunks..And 961 has improved since the last few months,Last time off peak about 18-27 mins per bus now its only 17 mins the max
i know it sounds absurd but i noticed they are putting more and more WAB buses on 190 ever since the production batch of ADL starts doing the service... Recently, many of the newer SMB14xx and SMB15xx are doing 190, as well as 5014, 5015, 5016 (likely perm). There are now at least 10 ADLs on 190.
Then there are perm A22s (1356-1358), SMB5888H, and SMB388S, totalling 5 (6 if SMB68R is still with 190, which i feel it is). And recently it seems that the newer 14xx and 15xx MANs are spotted doing 190 and they seem to be replacing some of the O405s...
A couple more ADL intake and this service will hit the WAB quota...

Yes.. it is noticeable on both 190 and 963. I think they want to make both these WAB asap.. It is a good decision, considering if these were with SBST, these would have become WAB several years back... Given the high loading on these services, these should have become WAB already by now... So, let's hope SMRT adds more ADLs to these services in next month and makes it WAB.

so tree pruning mean 189 will get DD? so many tree prunings this month due to the rainy season coming... moreover the route nearby BBDEP should be all accessible to DDs.

I think not going to SBST but to a new bus operator. or remain SMRT and jurong east also might not be SBST. But most likey going to a 3rd bus operator. By next year you will see it happend. And LTA will make it happen. sign will be there if the buses started to change color to LTA white and blue color. like the DTL MRT train. A new operator might be why SMRT or should i say LTA going for new DD buses. I don't think any time new bendy buses will be appear soon.
