E500 on 187 & 964 starting today...
SMRT only bought 203 DD buses. Looks like boosting around with all the route with 1 or 2 DD. Not a wise choice

They still have 40 incoming bendies to settle, so i think wait for them to settle these new 243 buses first before imposing more orders...
Actually for 964, it's more useful in the evening peak where you will see packed loading. I'm sure those workers would climb up to the upper deck bah..

It is because of BSEP. They can only upgrade or add buses to BSEP. They cannot fleet upgrade on SMRT buses.
Hence, bulk of SMRT DDs will be seen going to only services 176, 188, 190, 963 as of now.
I think 962 might be next to get 1 DD from BSEP. Even sv 75 might get.
I do agree that just 1 DD in the whole fleet does not make a huge difference.

I believe 962 will get DDs as it is a short trunk route and since 964 already have 962 may have and yes i saw 964 dd today

For 187, 3559X was full house at ITE and Jurong West, enroute from WRI to BNL on 12.45PM slot... Then from BNL > WDL, the load was gd...

I suppose he meant that SMB5001A and SMB5002Y are demonstrators and not part of the production batch of 201 buses, which by adding up give 203 buses...

Expected. sv 187 has extremely high loading... yet very very few high capacity buses... smrt everyday lose so much revenue on sv 187... even at Lakeside MRT stop, you will see pax cannot board sv 187... already full... those who want to go beyond JE Ave 1... will cramp into bus... others just take 98.

If 964 can have E500 then 860 can have also la, yeah!! Oh ya, just now I saw E500 testing on 860 route!
I believe they put on 964 is because the svc is mostly use by workers..not those elderly..
And especially after school sv187 toward woodlands which most of the swiss cottege student boarded from HomeTeamNS busstop full and after which when it reaches ITE, ITE students are unable to board.

LTA purposely added BSEP MAN to sv 187 after it started with Enviros. I am sure it was keeping in mind to ply BSEP DDs on it soon.

860 will def get DDs. I know some here are saying no coz it is like a feeder, but I am quite confident that 860 will get 4-5 DDs for sure to start with.

At least 964 got bendy buses before introduced to DD. 860, only rigid buses because it is a BSEP service, and I am sickening to see so many buses packed. But don't worry, I have sent my feedback to SMRT regarding to deploy DD on 860, and SMRT said that they will look into the matter try to deploy DD on 860 since it a popular route. If school students board DD confirm go upper deck one! 😂😂😂

964 packed service la during peak hours. Better to have DDs than BSEP MAN SDs.
Good to see now you are warming up to the idea of having DDs on 860 contrast to your earlier "860 cannot get DDs" :)))
