Still a good add-on to DDs la, friend. Normally, this type of situation is everywhere during non-AM-peak hours. SMRT-area pax are used to single-deck buses. Normally, if they see lower-deck full, not a lot will thought that upper deck have space left for them.
Each and everyone of us have differnt opinions. All of us also have different experience and viewpoints of the situation. Can't really compare too much.
It is just a suggestion to the SMRT double deck. Cos honestly IMO the "please move to the rear for the benefit of boarding passengers" does more harm psychologically than not having any announcement at all. For the umpteenth time - DDs on 190 is good! I ride it often and I like it.
To make my stand clear once again - I live in a place where everything is double deck. I love double decks. That doesnt mean I dont like bendys. But I am not blinded by liking bendys or DDs. In most of my comments, you see me posting the rational suggestion. I do not support early withdrawal of bendys NOT because I hate double deckers or love bendys but IMO, it is wasted cost - just do the conversion when the older buses' lifespan expire and I believe I even explicitly stated as (Bendy --> DD) clearly. I did even mention that if conversion to DDs now and early withdrawal of old Bendy on trunks is the more cost-effective method, I will be in support (but it is unlikely to be the case). And when I say use of Bendys' Ive always also mentioned feeders/short hauls.
How much more clearer do you need me to be uh? Go read all my posts before throwing accusations. I would say there are more people here that hate bendys and keep saying convert to DD without considering case-by-case. So lets not start a war - this is a forum where people can discuss their opinions in peace. If you think my comments are not rational, I am most open to here your side - but dont throw accusations. Peace!

I think more BSEP and SMRT buses are deployed just that we do not know if perm or not yet.

Well we cannot expect everything is nice and well organised..As a commuter you should find your own way to board else inform the driver if upper deck is empty..

They tries short haul trunk svc like 964,So 962 isnt bit of suprised..Lets see if 860 can get
Walao Woodlands got already too much double deckers. 860 must have double deckers, i don care.
Today I spotted a double decker training bus on 852/855 route at Lornie Road towards Yishun.
Gemsdare, really? U saw E500 going towards Yishun from Lornie Road? I hope that's true haha. Or is it training for service 167?
Sure? Afaik, NO DD on 962..

Sure I saw EDS display show 962 while BC goes to parking lot at WRI.
Hmm I would say no announcement like SBST still better than having an annoucement to move to the rear. Cos psychologially, it instructs a person who might have considered going up to just move to the back. Anyway, I guess the CCTV screen in at the BC's controls does give a visual of how empty/full upper deck is. So BC can just use that as a guage and ask ppl to move up

Should be for 855... would be insane to put DD on 852. Also this would be the BSEP slots of 855 that will get upgraded, not SMRT slots.

So 962 did get a DD cameo finally! Think we can expect the BSEP slot on 962 to get soon upgraded to BSEP DD.

Yes I also support DDs for 860.
I just realised one thing. Shouldn't SMRT suppose to introduce dds on new services on Sunday and on Monday?
My friend say he never saw dd on 962. Or is it maybe the driver accidentally change the EDS to 962?
