you will see more and more cities moving to DD buses given the increasing population, vehicular traffic and road space.
More high capacity buses could take some private cars off the streets during peak hours. Also, LRT extension to Putra Heights is well under way in KL.
While I applaud the move to DD, sometimes my heart goes out to Pioneer Generation commuters with dodgy knees. Tackling the stairs to reach the upper deck is no walk in the park for them.
Sv 857 DDs for today: 3538G, 3585U, 3586S.
I think there's one more Enviro which I didn't see. Because there's one Enviro this morning on Sv 857A as well, on 226B's timings for 857A

Did you just forget there is a LOWER deck. ![]()

He always thought that Sg is like Europe la bro...kwang kwang kwang..
Yeah got lower deck BUT bendy definitely more friendly to elderly. Studies have already pointed it out before. Our lower deck not say many seats and when the bus gets packed and people dont go up, most of the seats are not even accessible except the 3-4 yellow seats between the entrance and exit doors. This is a reason why bendy makes good use for feeders. Most elderly usually go around their own HDB towns mah. For trunks, when not so many elderly take and people are more willing to go up, yeah the lower deck suffices
One of 857 DD today drive by ex-Amdep BC!
this morning, saw 3581 then follow a citaro, and then 3585 and one more ADL, in the sequence at around 940 am at CTE toward yishun..

so you are saying that the old people can get to those seats in the bendies, when the bendies is packed to the doors with lots of empty space at the trailer part...
Haha...
Im not saying its a 100% but yes, chances are higher. Cos the space to move in is alot more than on a DD. There are more people on board a bendy that is packed to the door than a DD packed to the door, as far as a feeder is concerned. In a trunk when more people go up, this is not as true ofcourse, which is why I support use of DDs on trunks. I take CCK, Yishun and Woodlands Feeders quite often, and in most cases I see people going all the way to the rear. The rear part empty is mostly on trunks- 67, 190, 960 have this problem, which is why DDs are doing better now.
Maybe havent adapt yet la bro,222,240,291 seldom have this problem..
I think for now 857 got 3 perm DDs...1 Amdep BSEP slot goes to Wldep..Amdep now only 9 duties
Maybe 856 should transfer to AMDEP to deploy more A24s on it ; 851/854/857 to WLDEP to deploy more DDs..
Currently, AMDEP's A24s like abit useless for feeders/intra-town..

If you have read SMRT's press releases and facebook posts, they have said that bendies are better suited for feeders, so A24s on feeder routes are exactly where they should be.

Suspecting the next DD on 856.
Doubt SMRT side is gonna put DD on 856 unless its a BSEP add like 964. More likely 167 I would think cos its a town-bound service with no bendys now.
Saw Enviro500 on 945 this morning at Bukit Batok Interchange....

SMB3507X, wrong deployment. Deployer last minute changed another bus for 945 as DD not liable for the route... Probably the staff got warning from senior...
