No height restrictions for Bukit Batok but later on BSEP bus will be added for the greater convenience.
945 used to have DDs under SBS (Service 365 back then), definitely no height issue on this service
But over the years the tree growth since SBS days? Might be as serious as SBS7499A where front-half of the roof got scrap off...
945 actually will be a good candidate for DD because many people take it from st 34 area to Bukit Batok. Those alighting at Gambok can be at lower deck, those to BBT will go upper deck.

No lah. 365 no D under sbst. Is 367 that got the non aircon volvo DD

A 960 DD hit a tree on the side along Newton, shattering top left 1st & last windows... DD suffered dents and scratched on the front topside... Roofsides, i believe much more serious if the tree protrued a bit more and that's it!
I believe last time i mentioned before, things like this, waiting for accident to happen even if NParks/LTA/3rd party thinks it's passable and gave green light... Can't everything blame it on BC in such case, should be the one who's incharge and gave green light... If complained, they will close one eye until something really happen then they play blame game!
On contrary to the above post, sv 960 got even more DDs deployed and sv 66 a mass DD debut.

945 route not DD friendly yet...another bus sub it.

IMO, AMDEP's 3 A24s should be split out to different svc rather than throwing to 804/806. IMO, both 804/806 have been doing great so far, that's why it's abit useless.
Should deploy A24s to svc like 172/180/900/901 with terrible frequency or high demands and yet plenty of SDs in their fleet first, making it useful and bring benefits.
Or they should take the opportunity to test run other svces, Or take back a few s811 duties..

So can I ask you this question, are bendy still able to deploy to trunks? If no, if a DD broke down, as a starter, are you going to deploy a SD or Bendy?
I understand that SMRT repeat over and over, but I know their intention is to reduce the space taken on those city areas with jams, not that bendy is die die cannot deploy on trunks.

...
E50s or any DDs are not supposed to be on feeders until most of the trunks and express svcs got DD upgrades.

If a DD breaks down, why do you need to replace with a bendy or SD only... can you not replace with another DD??? Don't get your logic...

maybe he is saying if there is no spare DDs, what will they deploy if a DD breaks down?
if a DD breaks down, the best is to have a DD replacement. if there is no DDs, the next best is a bendy replacement. unless bendies not suitable, rigids will never be a replacement.

Ya... that's common sense... okay!!

3507X is suppose to do 106x945 crossover.

... what?
btw the starter got the wrong bus while doing 106x945 that slot requires a Rigid not DD

At times they'll deploy a bendy to 106x945..
I said bfore,945 need 2 perm split shift bendy buses in exchange for the 2 OCs

Yes it's common sense..
But overall, my point is that even though A24s may be just for feeders/intra-towns, but that doesn't mean a trunk svc couldn't get. Even if the route(of the trunk svc) is DD friendly, IMO SMRT should also consider the loading pattern first before deploying.
For this case, svc856. I'm not sure how many will head up for seats, but definitely there's going to be some(going wdl CIQ) hogging the lower deck since they can't take 950 and is in the rush. So if such situation doesn't change, deploying A24s + DDs(A mixture) will definitely be much better. Same for svc 169.
*Since it's a trunk svc, A24s will be deployed in the min. amount* That's how you boost the rate of smoothness journey.

Add 2 bendy + keep 1 of the OCs, making a fleet add of 1 bus.
Crossovers can choose to use bendy or DD.

i no much experience on 169 or 856 but i knw for tampines area both 67 and 969 double decker much better suit than bendy. still so many bendy on 67. i hope soon convert all bendy to double decker.
likewise for 854. need double decker. route not suiitable for bendy. hope yishun give double decker next to 854.
811 can even leave Yishun interchange with people unable to board.

969 is a must for DD..pax lazy to stand..bendy or SDs[WAB] SDs not really ideal.
Not really familiar about 67..although I rode once..but this route imo is okay with bendy bah. At least not spam of SD can liao. Same for 960.
If all the BCs(from SMRT/SBST) were to be more alert and strict about standing on upper deck (or stairways), I don't think deploying 80% DD fleet for 960 and 67 is an issue.
Yesterday got saw SMB5049M at Yishun Int on training. Might be training on either 851 or 854 route because when it exits the interchange it turns right. Btw, Yishun will get 1 new service right? Also, heard that 860 route might be extended, just like the future plans for the extension to BPJ on 983.
As far as i know next Yishun service to get DDs is 851 & 854..860 might get an extension in future.67,854 & 960 suits DDs well..Tampines just couldnt fit in too many bendy buses liao,The bendy buses from 67 already created so many parking issues

860 should be extended to Bukit Batok via Springleaf estate, express on Mandai, enter BPJ road, BPJ ring road, Segar, Senja, Woodlands road (through Senja link), Upper Bukit Timah, Hillview Estate, Bukit Batok East Ave 5, Bukit Batok Interchange
This would be a dream, but considering current trend likely extension of 860 would be looping around Springleaf estate via Yishun ave 3.
