Yet upper deck does get full and clears the queue. Bcoz not everyone is late, right. There is a good sizeable who come early.
Some 72B buses have empty upper deck btw, not all are full.
IMO, 902 should be kept as SD fleet, or bendy. The freq prob need some adjustments. Anyway, there would be some students skipping the packed bus. So frequency is the factor, not capacity.

but why is LTA giving the green light to SMRT's A24s purchase when LTA is going for favours DD? the A24s do not have a BSEP batch at all.
because LTA is not in total control of the fleet yet other than topping up of existing orders (but clearly not for the A24s as you have stated).

So in future, no more A24s or bendy purchases? But I still wondering why there is some inconsistency.

maybe u r talking about the last few 72B DD trips at 10am to 1015am??
any other trips of 72B buses usually will depart only when there is enough paxes..
the timekeeper there will pull the buses over to the boarding berth when the paxes are building up.. they wont suka suka ask the 72B buses to depart when there is few paxes only....so no possibility of empty upper deck from 7am to 945am....

SMRT has until this year to purchase WAB bendy buses depend on how many deregistration of their current non WAB bendy is..Next year no more purchase by the PTOs anymore,Everything is bought by LTA.I think at most another 40 more units by SMRT.

Total right now is 173 out of 201. So left 28 to be registered. A registration pattern of 5 buses each for BSEP and non-BSEP which makes a total of 10 buses registered monthly. So I think the registration will be completed by October 2015.
10 (5, 5) - August
10 (5, 5) - September
8 (4, 4) - October

In addition to lemon's comment on your post, one more observation: when 72B DDs come back to interchange after doing its ITE loop, time keeper will normally bring it in front of the queue again overtaking the SDs in queue and do its round.
So please stop your upper deck blah on DDs bcoz you are totally losing your credibility by making these claims without right observations.

Have you even tried svc169 DD before commenting? If no, please, do so. Pictures have been provided.
I'm just stating what I have seen before, there's no need for you to even pin point at anything without knowing the situation. Thanks

Have seen multiple instances of 169 DD with upper deck full. If you are going to base your observation based on 7.20pm trip from WRI to Seneko side, ofcourse DD is going to be empty. If you see that same DD on its way to WRI, you will see packed to door DD.

Ask me. I frequent take 72B since I school at ITE CC. By the way, 72B does well with DDs when according to what time the students must reach, especially around 7:30am - 8:30am.

I hope the next service will get Enviros like 854 for Yishun. Yishun need another DD service. (SMRT side)

It's not only that observation. Even DD trips before/after that are the same. Even loading from Yishun, not even the upper deck is full.
If only during the peak hours, the DD would be useful and not troublesome, might as well don't deploy.

I have different observations. I won't argue with you. I'll suggest got take the DD from AMK to WRI between 17.30 and 18.30 and you will see the loading yourself. It is packed to door.
Same thing see the DD between Yishun MRT and Seneko in AM peak.

No worries, I have taken and seen before commenting. It just the fact that it's not a total win-win situation like other trunks.
And if such things happen, I would rather you voice out some meaningful suggestion rather than backfiring with what I have "claim".
Nevermind let it be,Already SMRT had stated that their DDs is exclusively for trunks,So no choice..LTA take over they will supply DDs to this service in future

but is 80 A24s enough? there could be E50s to fill in the gaps.

but in this case LTA is like dictating on what types of buses the operators can have.

Better than 40 right?80 units meaning the feeders wont get full fleet bendy buses..It will be like 804 type(6 A24s/5 A22s) and LTA will introduce short/medium trunk with DDs to supplement of its heavy loading along the way.
Originally posted by SMB145B:but in this case LTA is like dictating on what types of buses the operators can have.
Since when Sg Gov bodies doesnt dictate??Well they have carefully studied that in near future population will increase and so is vehicles and housings..New ITHs also doesnt favour many bendy or even worse cant accomodate bendy buses at all.Rather than adding a few to feeders might as well dont use at all and SBST has proved sucessfully that many of their feeders using DDs.LTA also invite manufacturers to design a mock up concept SG bus to evaluate and might be in production for future usage..(Think of customise 12.5m three doors DDs maybe)

Where did you hear about 80 units? I heard there will be no more orders.

i rather have 6-3-2 formation (6 Bendies, 3 DDs and 2 Rigids) for 804
